This year marks the centenary of the end of World War I. One hundred years after the cessation of
hostilities on the Western Front, we still see connections either through family history, local heritage, or
generally in the long-term impact on society and the world today. The War claimed the lives of over 16
million people across the globe and had a huge impact on those who experienced it.
DOCA is working closely with the Town Council, Wiltshire Museum and a number of other organisations
to create a programme of beautiful and contemporary events to commemorate the centenary of the
end of World War I. This project is supported by Devizes Town Council, Wiltshire Museum and Arts
Council England.
Devizes will present over a month of events to help ensure that those affected by the Great War are not
forgotten starting in October and running until November 11th.

of work to share with you. Please check our social media and

All the performers on the Brittox are not paid by
DOCA. They have come here in good faith hoping
that you will like what they do and show your
appreciation by popping some of your hard earned
cash in their hat. We hope that you will support them.
We would like to encourage all kinds of performers to
