Student Council

Senior Members - Aman Sharma, Arkaprava Goswami, Aayush Modani
Junior Members - Nandan Sudheer, Soham Mitra, Kailash Swamynathan

Brief on the CnC - The Student Council is the elected body which is responsible for the academic, administrative and operational welfare of the
students. The elected body consists of the President, the Treasurer and the CEO. Student Council will provide guidance and advice when it is requested
and will work with college administration to implement initiatives and/or decisions that are endorsed by the Student Council.
Most Cherished Day - Our first Student Council dinner. The senior council and the junior council members knew each other before. But we set aside
all the stress and just enjoyed together on that evening of brotherhood, but only after the discussion on the plans, targets, achievements and agendas
for the 2019-21 academic years. Like someone said somewhere, duty first then comes the party.
Expectations vs Reality - More than our expectations, we are here to convert the expectations of all the students into reality. We work on their
dreams and aspirations, their parents’ dreams and aspirations and turn them into real life miracles by guaranteeing them a smooth academic and overall
campus life. In front of them, in front of their expectations, our individual expectations are irrelevant. The students’ reality in future is the Council’s
expectation in present.
Club/Committee you envy the most - Every single one of them. Each CnC showcase tremendous amount of professionalism, when it comes to delivering
their best to the students. We as Council personally take lessons from each one of them, from each individual member. The bigger objective on an
individual basis is to take the positives from all of them and to become better professionals and better human beings.
Message to the junior team - Take matured decisions. Students in the college look up to you guys now in a professional manner. You will have a lot of
learning by interacting with management and faculties. Do not be biased and treat all with equality. Be true, fair and take rational and logical decisions,
always stay loyal to your duties and never back down from your responsibilities. Be fair to the batch, work for them and serve them with utmost loyalty.
You are the captain of the ship now,Make it afloat through the turbulent sea,Set the horizon up so high ,do not bow,People will come, people will go - you
stay there to resolve the plea.Last but not the least, keep in mind that council is by the students and for the students.Cheers!! Enjoy!!! All the best!!

Placement Committee

Senior Members - Anika Shankar, Chinmay Bindal, Sai Vinodh, Sanjana Damodarapatruni, Soumya, Tushar Saxena, Umesh Kumar
Junior Members - Aasha, Aayushi J, Aman Sharma, Avaneeja K, Himanshu Deora, Manasa G, Mohit Modi, Sanjoli Mishra, Sushma A,

Vivek Mishra

Brief on the CnC - Placement Committee is a student body responsible for coordinating and streamlining all the placement pertaining activities. Guided
by illustrious placement faculty members, headed by a Chairperson, it is a team of highly dedicated and proactive students working synergically to
achieve the common goal of attracting suitable profiles from the most renowned organizations. The key operating spheres of the placement committee
include organizing corporate interactions, workshops, students skill job mapping, organizing placement related events, developing the student brochure
and giving the students an insight into the vogue industrial trends through conclaves and seminars. The Placement Committee plays a pivotal role
in developing and sustaining a mutually beneficial relationship with corporate houses. The committee also takes care of all the important corporate
happenings inside the campus, as well as the events outside the institute.
Most Cherished Day - It is the day when we as a team were able to achieve 100% summer Placements for Batch 19 of IFMR GSB. We not only achieved
the target but also did our best in increasing the average stipend by 40% as compared to the previous academic year. We as a team take immense pride
for the results we achieved. And also, on the day when we as a team met Dr. Raghuram Rajan, and R. Seshasayee Sir (Chairman, IndusInd Bank) for a
quick chat about the IFMR GSB campus life, academics, and corporate activities.
Expectations vs Reality - There were so many occasions where we felt like Expectation vs Reality. One incident was when we as a team felt there won’t
be much work to be done by us, as in, we just need to handle the HRs through calls and host them when they visit campus (We guess the majority of
student fraternity thinks the same). But in reality, we dealt with a lot of situations far more challenging than what we thought. Handling a batch of 187
students, with 187 different profiles, coordinating the same with companies, continuous follow-ups, countless hours on improving quality of roles and
getting new corporates to campus, getting JDs, making arrangements, hosting them, being responsible for smooth conduction of process. Did you just
think the list is over, nah! Again, following up on offer letters, handling students with different requisites, on-boarding process, getting offer letters,
etc. Moreover, in-between all these things, we need to handle our own academics and get ourselves placed too. This whole journey was a roller-coaster
and clear example of Expectation vs Reality to us.
Club/Committee you envy the most - We have immense respect towards Photography Club because they were always committed to supporting us and
our activities by shooting our events and there were events where they were so immersed in taking pictures of others that they totally forgot to take
their own pictures. Thank you for your efforts.
Message to the junior team - We would like to say that always support and stand by each other no matter what the circumstances are. Be the best
team-mates and work as hard as you can in placing the batch in their desired roles and get your job done. We as a senior team always believed in your
capabilities and dedication towards the work. You are a wonderful team, put your best effort to deliver the objective given to you by the institution.
And also, all of you, individually, focus on your academics and your own placements too.

Brief on the CnC - Abhyudaya is the national level, annual management and cultural fest of IFMR GSB, Krea University. We at Team Abhyudaya put in
our best efforts throughout the year to put up a fest that strives to set new benchmarks for the coming batches. We at this committee do this, not
for our own satisfaction, but for the students and our fellow batchmates at the university, providing various students a platform to showcase their
skills and talents. It is also an avenue through which many experience reality.
Most Cherished Day - Abhyudaya’ 20 - Day 2 - 16th February 2020 - Band performance by Antriksh
Expectations vs Reality - As a University, our expectations for B-School fests are normally high with regards to everything but the reality is that
we have our own constraints. Being a part of Team Abhyudaya makes you confront that reality and trains you to thrive in the most adverse conditions.
Club/Committee you envy the most - Sportscom
Message to the junior team - It might be that just one event is organised in the whole year, but that one event’s sucess requires continuous efforts
that go on throughout the year. We have made a mark in the history of Krea University with last year’s Abhyudaya. Now it’s your time to shine. You will,
in your duration as a member of this committee, expose yourself to people from different walks of life and learn how to effectively collaborate efforts
with many to provide the best experience they can get. At the end, what you will have is a sense of accomplishment and satisfaction.

expectation have been raised which increases the learning. And to know what has changed, come and be a part of our journey.
Most Cherished Day - When we successfully completed our 8 hrs of non stop event during Abhyudaya.

Junior Members - Ankit, Divyang, Haritha, Jaykumar, Manali, Rakshit, Sanidhya, Sayali, Somya, Sukriti
Brief on the CnC - Genesis for us has never been just a committee, Being in the clan, we were lucky enough to be a part of the team for two good years.
From virtual meetings to late night query discussions and to all the misfired plans, we laughed, learned and brought a change together. The satisfaction
of serving the unknown stakeholders and being a part of the admission process, right from launch of application to the on boarding process it has been
an unmatched pleasure. We did it all- from hosting events, city meets, webinars to planning the selection process, digital marketing, budget allocations
and mentoring sessions.Extra Incentive: It is the only paid (stipend) committee of IFMR & offers a package full of learning & fun!
Most Cherished Day - The most cherished day was when we as a team completed the entire admission process for year 2019 and hosted the ice
breaker event! It’s a whole another feeling when you meet the entire batch eager to start their MBA journey and be a one stop solution for each one of
them. Full of enthusiasm, queries, energy and what not, playing a crucial role in the beginning of the MBA journey for the upcoming batch shall always
be memorable
Expectations vs Reality - All we expected in the beginning was handling online portals and maybe giving references for aspiring candidates. However
in reality, Genesis opened so many doors for us that we didn’t know existed. It allowed us to push our personal boundaries and experiment each day. We
learnt the art of digital marketing, budget allocations, holding events, webinars and mentoring in such a short span. We went beyond our comfort zones
and worked towards solving real life issues.
Club/Committee you envy the most - NONE! Genesis has been a full package in itself, being the only Stipend paying committee of IFMR and thus
attracting the highest applications in the CNC selection process each year.
Message to the junior team - For all the juniors, you are going to learn & develop in a way you would would have never imagined. We hope it is going to
be a “happy place” for each one of you. Keep up the good work, stay active! I wish you all take with you a profusion of bitter sweet memories, friends

Markaholic

Senior Members - Deepak Pandey, Shayak Nath, Shubhi Sanghvi, Aishwarya Patnaik, Saurav Kar
Junior Members - Rashi Shroff, Rahul Singh, Sukanya Dey, Tejasi Bhat, Harshit Khanna

Brief on the CnC - Markaholic - the marketing committee of IFMR GSB is committed towards developing and implementing marketing initiatives and
activities to increase awareness about Marketing among its students. To popularize the field of Marketing at IFMR and ensure that fun and learning is
an integral part of the entire process is what Markaholic continuously strives for. These goals are achieved through a mix of competitive events and
interactive sessions through guest lectures by distinguished corporates which are organized regularly amidst the busy academic campus life. Markaholic
is a family where the students are selected on the grounds of uncommon talents and connected through the unending love for each other and the vision
of our committee.
Most Cherished Day - Nothing can surpass the joy of receiving confirmation from the Ambi Parameswaran - founder Brand-Building.com & the former
CEO of FCB Ulka Advertising for a guest lecture at our campus. We had been persuading Ambi from past one and a half year to visit our campus and
enlighten the students of IFMR GSB with his experiences and stories of industrial challenges and hardships. We celebrated his arrival at our campus
on 24th October 2019. The tales of his journey and life learning was an inspiration to many.
Expectations vs Reality - We want to mark our footprint across all the B-Schools and industrialists with engaging events, competitions, lectures and
webinars and be able to trumpet the quality of marketing at IFMR. However, the lack of internal participation keeps us from the push. We therefore
hope to ignite the marketing geniuses within our campus and notch up the participation spirit.
Club/Committee you envy the most - “Laasya” - we do not envy them; we respect the effort and dedication they put in all their events. Amidst all
the workload and pressure, Laasya is one such committee that keeps aside its personal interests and organizes events that not only require emotional
and mental but physical labor too. We salute their persistence and endeavors to keep the entire college entertained round the year. P.S: No doubt the
turnout of people for their events is enviable for all the other committees.
Message to the junior team - To set a benchmark for every other committee not only at IFMR but throughout India. IFMR as a business school should
be associated with Markaholic as the Marketing Committee. Work with a goal that Markaholic should become the foremost instrument in promoting and
practicing marketing at IFMR GSB. The junior team should work more cohesively and get the best out of each and every event. I hope the junior team
gets the best of the people from industry to interact with, and make them experience the quality of marketing at IFMR while gaining a lot of insights
and knowledge from their industry exposure and expertise. This will increase the width of imagination and depth of insights of the students.

and improvement of society for sustainable and inclusive development. Samarthan provides a platform to the fraternity to provide their share of
humanity back to the society, which is beyond textbooks and corporate world and thus making the world a better place. It has been subsequently

over the years and the efforts were appreciated and accredited. Students of IFMR GSB are the flesh and blood of Samarthan. It strives to provide
the interface between the students, voluntary organizations and the society, ultimately to breed a sustainable and healthy society. IFMR, through
Samarthan, conducts Bal Vikas- a yearlong ongoing skill development programme for the children of the nearby village where the students of IFMR GSB
teach the kids. Being an institution that has achieved accolades for its expertise in Finance, we also consider it essential to impart the basic financial
wisdom amongst the older children, who are present. The committee organises events throughout the year, one of them being Lakshmi Bal Mahotsav -
its flagship event - which hosts orphan kids on campus and makes their day special and worth remembering. Other events include Blood Donation Drive,
Kumari Bhoj, UTSARG - cloth collection drive in 2019, fulfilling children’s Christmas wishes through the Wish Tree Event and Workers’ Day an event of
gratitude to honour the workers in campus who work every day to make the in campus residents’ lives better and comfortable
Most Cherished Day - Lakshmi Bal Mahotsav, the flagship event organized by the social service club Samarthan at IFMR GSB, is celebrated in fond
remembrance of an IFMR GSB student, Lakshmi Iyer Appu, who passed away in an accident. Childhood is the most precious stage in everyone’s life and
every year LBM brings it back to the students who, somewhere in the fast pace managerial aspirations, have forgotten about this essential element.
This year the theme for the Mahotsav was The Jungle Book and all KREAians worked together to ensure that they remember January 19th as one of the
best days of their childhood. With this as our sole goal, we came up with a list of events and programs that spread between 8:30 AM till 5:30 PM. This
day not only gave us the opportunity to spread happiness to around 200 kids from different underprivileged sections of the society but also reminded
us of the core values of trust and love which these kids exhibit. The students of IFMR GSB worked together, making every effort to spread a smile
on the faces of these tiny tots, by creating huge paintings of cartoons, theme decorations, gifts and organising different games by the event manager,
carefully planned and executed, keeping the kids in mind. The event witnessed, the naughty and innocent side of the little angels, their carefree
laughter, their immediate affection towards the KREAians and the simple pranks they play among themselves. But the students of KREA university
also took upon the responsibility of ensuring that these children have fun and at the same time are aware of the society they live in and the kind of
the expectations the former have from them. In short, the Lakshmi Bal Mahotsav was a celebration of innocence, childhood, education and humanity.
Expectations vs Reality - We learned how it was more than we could ever think of how it feels to serve the people and work for them. It not only
taught us kindness and humanity but also how to work as a team, lead the team and work for the development of the society by giving back to society.
Club/Committee you envy the most - We are the committee that spreads love and kindness around us, we consider all clubs and committees as a
support system of IFMR GSB.
Message to the junior team - The junior team worked hard in all the events. They should carry forward the legacy with the same zeal and enthusiasm.

real manager. Always remember, each and every one of you are the face of IFMR to the outside world. Work hard, work smart and most importantly,
make the institution proud. Irrespective of what people have to say, we were, are and shall remain the best. So, always keep the ER flag flying high!!!

Brief on the CnC - The Drama Club of IFMR- Abhinay, is made up by the drama fanatics and acting enthusiasts. Performing, writing, composing plays
on various occasions, events and addressing variety of issues through them is a quintessential quality of our club. We believe that drama does not just
walk into your life. Either you create it, invite it, or associate with it. This is who we are meant to be. This is ME.
Most Cherished Day - The most cherished day for us would be the day of our farewell performance. The act was dedicated to the senior Abhinay
members and was a cocktail of various emotions including nostalgia and the promise of a tomorrow where our friendships remain unaffected. Although
it was an extremely emotional moment for all of us, as actors it made us feel satisfied with the fruition when we saw that the seniors could connect with
our story so much that they had tears in their eyes. It was a very hectic day and we are still surprised by how we were able to pull off the act. It was
a bittersweet moment for us as the full team assembled backstage, crying and laughing, bidding a final adieu to our beloved senior members.
Expectations vs Reality - When we first came into the club, we thought it was going to be easy-peasy but we were so wrong. Waking up till 3 am right
before an exam just for drama practise, coming up with creative plot ideas, making of props and costumes for each of our performances was quite tough.
But, at the end of the day what mattered was that we had a lot of fun and made a lot of memories that we will cherish for a long time.
Club/Committee you envy the most - Laasya Committee would be the most envied CnC for us as they do a tremendous job in every cultural event
they organize. Right from the decorations to the hosting, its their enthusiasm that keeps us motivated to give our best performances in all the events.
Message to the junior team - Hello Juniors,We cannot count the experiences, memories and learnings which Abhinay club has given to us. From late
night practice sessions to club dinners, this was not just a team but our second family. Drama becomes a part of our life, no matter which role we play.
We would advise our juniors to enjoy every moment of being in this wonderful club.Thank you for giving us uncountable memories which we will cherish
forever. When you make a mistake, don’t look back at it long. Take the message in your mind and look forward. Mistakes are lessons of wisdom.

Brief on the CnC - A newly formed and well structured club, started in Feb’2019 to endeavor the skills and importance in business learning gems of
IFMR-GSB. The objective is to encourage and make every individual to enlighten the ease of business with data tools and techniques. At present in this
business world, only one slogan keeps running in corporate minds, “No data, No development”.
Most Cherished Day - The Data-Mate Event named DATAMONY on 29th September, 2019 is always remembered in the history of our club. One of
the reasons of a lot is, almost 70% of the student strength have had registered with 100% participation. This event is considered as the most joyous
and well planned for sharping participants to hands-on backend practice of data science concepts and to find the most suited partner using the results
of backend. Such an amazing response we got from students, faculty, PhD crew, etc,. Cannot forget this event. A lot of events in one single year with
instant amazing gadgets, lots of smiles, made every day of this academic year encouraged.
Expectations vs Reality - Expectations: Couple of things which keeps rotating in one’s mind joining this club is, 1) The club member will learn all
the concepts of data science. 2) Most of the time will be spent on reviewing the responses after every event. 3) Only dataset related events will be
conducted and no need of much budget.Reality: 1) Club members will get an opportunity to explore around the core concepts which others have limited
access to certain Data nodes of government i.e., National Data Centers. 2) Very limited time is consumed by club members to review the responses
as most of the pre-build models are present. 3) Physical presence of participant related events are also created and well executed, not only dataset
related are conducted. Hence budget for the process is equally required.
Club/Committee you envy the most - Never do the envy, jealousy and insecure stuff. Be the hustler, the well-wisher, the go-getter.
Message to the junior team - Dear Juniors, You never get a second chance to make a first impression. The quote holds true when we are talking about
new entrants to our club. Making every member feel comfortable and familiar with their new surroundings is the best way to start a healthy work
relationship. And this crucial step can help you pave the path for building an engaged and productive workforce. All of you have followed and gained
respect to the best extent. Keep it up. All the best super seven.
