In the City Square med for the Historic Dictator, You Never Arrived
The sparrows held open their beaks in the heat. I lay one arm on the table and
the table left its argyle heat,
its wrought iron argyle along my skin. Two water glasses sweat on the table but nobody else was about.
The fountains listing in the sun, whistling peroxide-white in the sun.
The plaza lifting up from below.
Think of getting trapped in a room night after night when you were small, think growing pale, driven over bumps in the country road.
I watched the clock on the tower.
Black and winding went its hands around its face. asses of things tried changing me into what I was not. Thank god the world is sick with puzzles.
Thank god the pieces have been mislaid
in shady places, and never found.

PAINTINGS
As an artist, I have been developing paintings that speak both to me and others about the world around us; real or fantastical in our minds. I do not merely want to capture the image with my brushes. Rather with colorful, vivid oil strokes, I want to breathe life into the ordinary things again.
