Abstein and Associates, LLC is s a 5 year-old multi-line manufacturer

representative firm serving the Mississippi and Tennessee markets for Seating Inc. Bill Abstein, principal,
has a 24 year background in the industry, starting in Memphis and later making Mississippi his home base.
Having worked as both a dealer rep and manufacturer rep for other firms, he has a good perspective on the
best practices and unique challenges of both arenas.
Intentionally setting out to represent factories based in North America, Bill’s line package reflects solu-
tions for key categories of the marketplace, with Seating Inc as the lead chair line in all projects. Dealers
and end users are always impressed and appreciative of the extensive customization available – especially
when solving special needs such as petite or tall user heights, increased weight capacities, and 24/7/365
usage environment concerns. There is no better partner in this industry than Seating Inc when it comes to
involvement of Doug, Judy, and the rest of the team when working to solve chair configuration concerns,
large volume opportunity quote creativity, and the provision of helpful selling tools.
In a largely rural market, many projects are related to universities, schools, state agencies, and hospitals.

factory’s product line. The introduction of Cobra has been an immediate success story – landing 2 projects
in Greenwood-Leflore Hospital’s clinics which were previously standardized on LaZBoy. In the higher ed-
ucation market, Indy proves to be a great problem-solver for university classrooms & lab spaces – provid-
ing highly cleanable and simple-to-operate swivel chairs for student use at Delta State University’s Biology
Department.
Service is key to Bill’s philosophy of manufacturer representation – whether preparing quotes and spec-
ifications for dealers, researching unique design or performance issues for the best Seating Inc solution,
assisting with field repairs, or loading up his cargo trailer with samples for a traveling road show, it’s all
about serving others.

Cleaning Textiles - back to basics!

In the healthcare environment, lots of maintenance workers use harsh chemicals to clean their textiles.
Recently we had an inquiry as to how to maintain textiles better in this environment. As it happened, a
Representative from one of our partners Mayer Fabrics, was coming into the fatory that day!
...Sure enough, they told us the solution: After using harsh chemicals or chemical wipes on textiles, it is
essential that maintenace staff clean off the surface with water afterwards. Otherwise, it is like leaving soap
on your hands without washing it off with water! IT would not feel good on the skin! And it doesn’t feel
good for the textiles. SO when you are vising your healchare clientelle, remember to give them this simple
trick to ensure their products last longer!

FYI - CARDED TEXTILES:
When choosing textiles for our carded program, we do our best to select fabric and vinyl that are predicted
to have an extended life in the office furniture market. In spite of these efforts, pattern and color availability

changes frequently and is beyond our control. In addition, textile costs increase at the discretion of each
supplier. Grade levels on “old” binder cards are likely out of date and availability is not assured.
For information about textiles from these cards, check with Ariel ([email protected]).
