Hi Everyone. Thank you all for a good
chapter meeting Sunday, hope you all had a
good time. These are tough times for
ABATE; with all the issues facing us we
need to stay positive. I believe that if we all
work together we will keep this organization strong and help
it grow. There are a lot of events coming up so please do
whatever you can to help .

THANK YOU ALL, Frizz

It seems like I was just doing
this report yesterday or maybe I was LOL. We have some events coming
up very soon; by the time you get this the swamp buggy races will have
been completed and we will have put some well needed money into the
coffers. We have some issues facing not only the chapter but the state that
need to be addressed very quickly, the main issue as it always seems to be,
is money. I feel that the short-term solution, which ever one of the two we
decide upon, is not going to take care of the problem. We still need to gen-
erate more money, not only for the chapter but the state. A bike jamboree
is scheduled and should generate some much-needed income. On another note it's time again to
start thinking about the elections, consider running for a position on the board, I guarantee you it
is easy and you will get a lot of support from fellow members; Ask position holders about their
experiences, I guarantee they will recommend it. In closing, ride safe, dodge the snowbirds, I
will! I’ll see you on the road or at the next meeting.
Aloha, faithfully submitted by your vice President Rusty a.k.a. Wingnut. No joke this time, but I
do have one thing I want to say, I think that at this time it is very appropriate: Live free or die
isn't just a saying. God bless America.

SUNSHINE REPORT — January

December/January Sunshine Report

Scott and Christine Hughes, a Thinking of you card for Scott's sister who was in ICU and in need of many powerful
prayers. They must have worked as the latest word is that she is in a regular room now and improving. The battles in
our lives come in many forms, but the power of prayer is a mighty sword. Hugs to Scott and Christine as they stay
strong for Robbin in her continued healing process. We also sent Christine a Get Well card for her illness that landed
her in the hospital and was quite an exasperating experience to get the right answers for the right cure. We wish this
family better health in the new year.

David "Wylie" Wyland, a Thank You card for once again portraying Santa for our beloved Hertiage House residents
and their families. He made a generous effort despite his own health issues in which we wish him well. May he and
Susan be blessed at Christmas and may the next year bring them peace. We also gave him a Get Well card as he
ended up in the hospital after a fall that exacerbated some of his health problems. He had lots of visitors while in the
hospital and his family and doctors are doing all that they can to help him get well. He needs all the helpful prayers
and good thoughts we can send him.

Zeke Zavatsky, a Congratulations card on his new grandson, Luke Anthony. Everyone knows that biker grampas are
the best so Luke is in for a hell of a childhood! Best wishes to the family as may the blessings of the holidays bring
sweet, cherished memories to all.
On another note, We miss seeing you, but are very proud of what you are doing for the little girl in your care right now.
She is lucky to have such a soft safety net to give her a chance to be a kid. Go Team Zeke, Tracy and Sarah! XO

Trudi Steel, a Get Well card for her emergency carpel tunnel surgery. She was resting comfortably in her Comfort Inn
suite for the State Meeting and the healing and recovery will be on going. Please keep her in your thoughts and pray-
ers as her 2015 was a challenge for her and her family.

Don Korff, a Get Well card for his diverticulitis episode that sent him to the hospital and unfortunately may require
surgery. We know our Big Don can't hear anything, but we sure hope he feels our warm wishes, prayers and positive
thoughts for a full recovery. January brought him many more doctors and his multitude of health problems will present
him with a life of "changing his ways", but he says "Yeah, right." Hang in there, Big Guy!

Jennifer Seybold, a Get Well card for her thyroid surgery at the VA in Tampa. We hope this latest procedure brings
her better health down the road and continued good reports as she and her doctors stay on top of things. Much love
and many hugs to our favorite female veteran! XO

Ron Authur, a Sympathy card for the loss of his wife, Shirley. She had been battling health issues for a while and her
passing was the end of a valiant fight. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Authur family.

SPECIAL NOTE:
Our sincerest condolences to Barry from Forrest Chapter who lost his wife, Tammy,
unexpectedly the night before the State Meeting. Our hearts and prayers go out to
him as he and his family cope with this tragic loss. Word has it that he is doing as well
as he can as his family has been there for him.

A young musician left his priceless Strativarius violin on a train
in Germany, but it was returned...no strings attached.
Wait....what?

SUNSHINE REPORT — February

GW Clark and Family, a Sympathy card for the loss of his mother, Anna
Clark Davis. She participated in many of our events such as the Heritage
Run and birthday parties. When Moms leave us, they take a little piece of
us with them. May there be comfort for tears, hugs for the loss, and
memories for the heart. GW was also in the hospital again as they are
having difficulty finding out the exact cause of his issues. Lots and lots of
prayers for our favorite guitar player.

Kenny and Carol Smith, a Sympathy card for the tragic loss of their
youngest son, Jason. He was a biker and spent a lot of time with his girl-
friend Holly at the Chickee. Funeral arrangements will be Friday, March
6th at Fulller's on Pine Ridge from 6pm - 9pm. Please keep Kenny and
Carol in your prayers as they cope with this unexpected loss. Jason was
loved by his family and had many friends who will miss him dearly.

Cathy LeBlanc, A Get Well card as she was recently in the hospital. We
pray for her full and speedy recovery as we also need to congratulate her
on her engagement to a very lucky man named Melvin. Best wishes for
happy healing so you can jump start your next chapter in your well de-
served life of happiness. XO

As Seen in the Naples Daily News - 2/25/16

If you were planning to shoot your gun in your backyard, you might want to hold off be
cause now it's a misdemeanor charge.

A new Florida law signed Wednesday by Gov. Rick Scott makes it illegal to shoot a gun
on your property in a residential area, NBC2 reports.

The law doesn't ban shooting on personal property altogether — just in residential areas.
That's defined as an area with more than one house per acre.

The law does have exceptions, such as if your gun goes off accidentally, that won't be
considered a crime as long as you can prove it was an accident. You are still allowed to
use a gun to protect yourself or property, even if you live in a crowded neighborhood.

The bill (SB 1030) was sponsored by Naples Republican Sen. Garret Richter.

Gov. Scott signed the following eight bills into law on Wednesday:
 Identification cards and driver licenses (SB 158) – This bill allows a Floridian with a
lifetime fishing, hunting, or boating license to have a symbol displaying that lifetime sta
tus added to their driver’s license or identification card.
 Trade secrets (SB 180) – This bill expands the definition of “trade secret” to include
certain financial information.
 Public records and meetings (SB 182) – This bill exempts certain financial infor
mation that is a trade secret from public records requirements.
 Mandatory minimum sentences (SB 228) – This bill removes aggravated assault from
the list of offenses included in the “10-20-Life” sentencing law.
 Florida Statutes (SB 1030) – This bill adopts the 2016 Florida Statutes and makes
them law.
 Florida Statutes (SB 1032) – This bill deletes provisions that grant redundant or un
used rulemaking authority in the Florida Statutes.
 Florida Statutes (SB 1038) – This bill deletes and repeals provisions in the Florida
Statutes that have expired or become obsolete.
 Florida Statutes (SB 1040) – This bill deletes provisions of the Florida Statutes that
have passed their repeal date.

CHANGE
Our country needs a great change. We were promised a change back
around 2007-08; that change turned out to be to the detriment of our
country. Since then our constitution has been ignored and our rights as
Americans have continually been trampled on. As we look at the nation
around us we see more murder, killing of our unborn, homosexuality,
immorality, and disregard for our Immigration laws. The change we
need is in each and every one of us; and that is for us to turn to God.
If we personally come to Jesus Christ and repent of our sins, and
allow God's mercy to transform our behavior, and we live a humble life, obedient
to God we can heal our nation.
The Bible tells us in Psalm 33:12, "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, the people he chose for
his inheritance". 1."Most of the issues we face as a nation are the results of our own sinfulness; the ef
fects of our choices as individual people to abandon God in our own daily lives. What we need most is
the favor of God, and that comes when a nation chooses the Lord. Our nation needs a large scale conver
sion of sinners, a great transformation of lives toward following the commands of Christ found in the Bi
ble. A radical change in this direction won't happen through human efforts and it won't happen through
angry demonstration." It will happen when people do as commanded in 2 Chronicles 7:14, "Then if my
people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from
their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land".
We all know we don't live the life God intended us to live. Jesus came to set an example for us to live our
daily lives, and who can say they follow in his footsteps? No one. Change must begin in each one of us to
turn our nation around and this would spread to our family members, then to all each of them come in
contact with, at work and throughout our towns, and eventually throughout the country. Pray about it!
