THE NEW 2016-2017
GATOR ALLEY BOARD

WELCOME!

5

Hello everyone!
Are you ready for another year to begin? I am. There are many
things that this new board will have to attack. Cutting cost, being
creative with runs, and still being a force to reckon with on the
Legislative front. And this will take all of us, not just those on the
Board.
Thank you to those who stepped down from the board for all of
their hard work. And a special thank you to those who have stepped
up. And some of them again. ( again, again) We have so many good
people in our chapter. And I’m thankful for all of those who aren’t
afraid to work for our common cause.
Lots of events on the calendar. Preservation Run (8/21), Birthday
Party (9/24), State Party, (10/7,8,9), Memorial Run in October,
Swamp Buggy Races, Run and Gobble, Heritage House, and the State
Meeting on Dec 10th. We need 3 different chairs for our runs, volun-
teers for Swamp Buggy, and the State Party Security detail, and
“cookers” for the State Party. Oh yeah, we have the Swamp to the
City event, and Swamp Buggy again in January. Where will you fit in?
Effective immediately, a price hike for Life Members. It is now $600.
Also, we have a new State Board with our own Darrin Brooks as
Vice President. Congrats to him.
Many guest speakers on the horizon. Thank you to Burt Saunders
for sharing with us yesterday. Russ Taff and Sherriff Rambosk for
July 24th and possibly 1 more. Know what districts you are in and
who you want to vote for and why. Just for the record, LauraJo
will be posting Motorcycle friendly candidates on our Facebook
page. Speaking of, our new newsletter editor Deb Pignatiello will
be working on getting the website up and running through the
States website. This saves us money as well.
So much to go but I would like to do it in person. Please come the
meetings. If you can’t make the Chapter meeting, please come to the
Board meeting. We would love to see you there.
Let’s Do It!!!

Lynn Corr

6

Thank you for the vote of confidence in choosing me as
your Vice President. I am looking forward to serving the
chapter for the next year and hope that I can make a dif-
ference. If you have any ideas for special events, be sure
to let me know! And don’t forget the Preservation Run
August 21, chaired by our very own Dave Pappas .
Thank you to the members that stepped up during our
last meeting and made donations to help pay for our stor-
age facility. Every little bit helps and is much appreciat-
ed!

Always remember, please support the businesses that
support us. Scott out….

SUNSHINE REPORT — May

Dave "Wylie" Wyland, a Thinking of you/Get Well card as he is still struggling and spent more time in the hospital. Roger
went to visit him and was happy to report that he is home and doing better. Our favorite Santa keeps bouncing back! Please
keep him and Susan in your prayers.

Zeke Zavatsky, a Get Well card for his motorcycle accident when a "guy in a hurry" pulled out in front of a car who had to
slam on her brakes, but the guy ended up hitting Zeke instead. He has 10 broken ribs, fractured shoulder blade, broken collar
bone, mangled toes, road rash and lots n' lots of healing ahead. Please send him all of your love, thoughts and prayers as he
and Tracy are caring for a 5 year old girl who needed a happy home, love, attention and guidance. Tom said that he was in
good spirits after his visit, but there is a long road of healing for him and unfortunately, an accident like this is very painful and
there are surgeries in store for him once the road rash clears. BIG prayers for Zeke and Tracy to come through all of this and
may this awful experience be just another memory for Zeke's Book of Life! XOXO

The Family of Donna "DC" Schwira, a Sympathy card for her passing after her long struggle with COPD. She was one of the
many "ol' timers" that made Gator Alley great back in the day and kept tabs on us to make sure we were carrying on the
great work they all started. She will be missed by many and may she and Dick Crane (her best buddy) have the best seat in
the house as they watch over all of their loved ones.

Mike Nelson, a Get Well card as he went down on May 9th. Luckily, the majority of the damage was done to the bike and not
our favorite officer, but as we all know too well, going down is something we will all have to deal with at some point and time.
He is big and strong and has a great wife to help him heal and we will see him out and about again when he is not honoring
CC's finest's duties and teaching bicycle safety to all our young ones. Bikes can be fixed and repaired (even the Gold Wings),
but good folks are hard to replace!!

Christine Hughes, Get Well Wishes for the crappiest year ever. Three surgeries in 1 year is enough to break anyone's spirit,
but our Christine is coping with all of it with honorable grace....other than the cussing and crying. ;-) Just kidding. We hope
that this summer brings better health and close family and friend time. We love you, Lady! XO

Don Korff, Keep the prayers coming as treatments are wearing him down, but he isn't passing up an opportunity to enjoy life
with his favorite gal, Barb, and all of their good friends. We hope he can feel all of the love and positive wishes that we all
send every day. XO

Betty Yenhert, Keep her in your prayers as well as she has somethings
coming up that will require some down time and healing and has asked for
us just to send your love and hugs. She will tell us all about it when it's all
said and done.
And that's all she has to say about that. :-)

Want to know a way to keep a person from trying to — June
tickle you? Tell them you have diarrhea.

SUNSHINE REPORT

Please keep Dave "Wiley" Wyland in your prayers as he is need of some powerful intervention. If you would like to go
and see him, his address is:

11030 Tangelo Terrace
Bonita Springs, FL 34135-5749
Phone numbers: 239-404-0232 Wiley / 239-860-0758 Susan

Last word is that he did have a nurse coming in to assist with his medical needs.

Respectfully Submitted,
Margo Fuoco

Please support these folks in their efforts to keep your local freedom fighting Chapter alive and vital. It
can't be done without your support and participation. These people will be taking time out of their very
busy lives to make sure we have a reason to gather, voice our opinions and be educated voters. When
asked to step in and help, please make yourself available as it takes all of us to have our community be
aware that we aren't just a bunch of loud pipes. Keep your actions in check and respect the people try-
ing to promote a positive image that will encourage non riders to support us as well.

Thank you for letting me run these Elections once again and very SPECIAL THANK YOU to ROGER
JANES for saving me with a loaner labtop and attempting to fix my broken labtop and virus invested PC.
You are the bestest.
Thanks to Cadillac, Jenny McCallion and Cathy Case Bradley for helping with the Election process. I
appreciate your understanding in my last minute attempts to prepare. It will be better next year. :-) XO

Good Luck to the new BOD and may all of you bring your A Game to this years list of events and meet-
ings.

Mercy

As Jesus was teaching his disciples on the mountainside what has become known as The
Beatitudes, he spoke about mercy. Mercy is having a forgiving attitude toward someone
or showing compassion to one that is poor in spirit, meek, or not self-sufficient. These
individuals may look outward for help . When they receive gracious bounty (mercy) from
the King, through our actions, they will in turn show mercy toward others. This mercy is
the forgiveness of others sins and compassion for the suffering and needy. They are
called blessed because they place showing mercy above their own rights, take no stand
against people in need, and try to show kindness to others. They have been shown mercy
and live in constant dependence on the Lord, so they become merciful.
They will be shown mercy on the Day of Judgment because they have shown mercy toward others. They
learned to forgive others because they were constantly being forgiven. They learned to show mercy to others
because they were being shown mercy every day. This was true of Jesus' disciples, and also holds true for the
Christian today. People who know more of God's mercy will be merciful toward others.
Christians must have a good understanding of God's grace in their lives. God's grace in their lives comes from
the experience of confession of sin and thanksgiving for the forgiveness we receive. We don't deserve the grace
we receive; it comes only from the salvation paid for by our Savior Jesus Christ. The reality of our own spiritu-
al condition and God's provision must never be forgotten.

our Delegates on June 11th. Reminder about State Party the 2nd weekend in October. Rusty asked Brad to start with the volunteer list for

Security. Our June chapter meeting will be held at Twisted Spoke, 5091 Tamaimi Trail E, due to scheduling issues. Lynn asked for a

few people to help with some postcards to send to members here in Naples to remind them of the change. A note will be put on the VFW

to alert anyone that shows.

accept the minutes as written in Newsletter. Debi seconded it.

PR COMMUNICATION/ADVERTISING/SPECIAL EVENTS – A Motion introduced by Lynn Corr was made to make a change to

will also include Web Master/Facebook Editor. 1 voting right. #2 – Newsletter Editor will also be in charge of organizing any adver-

tising. This will have 1 voting right. #3 – Vice President/Special Events – Vice President will head up all events making sure they are
