Merry Christmas! Can’t believe we are looking at 2019, and how fast
2018 went. We reached some milestones in our chapter, we lost good
friends, and we’ve seen changes along the way. Our goals as Gator
Alley and our fight for our rights with A.B.A.T.E. of Florida still con-
tinue. We have a new leadership in Tallahassee that we will diligently
work with and hope to develop relationships so we can continue to

stand for Motorcyclists in our state.
But we need to gather all “bikers” in our communities. It will take all
of us. We can’t do it alone. It is a group effort to show Tallahassee
that we won’t be overlooked. Every effort is needed. From us show-
ing up at Swamp Buggy to volunteer to individuals like our Treasurer
making appearances at Bike Night with our banner and information,
every effort counts. New members are important as well as engaging

those that have been dormant for a while. It takes all of us.
Ok, I’m off the soap box.

May each one of you have a wonderful holiday season. Spend time
with friends and family, or just make new friends. Hug those you

love. Time is fleeting.
Here’s to a safe and healthy 2019. God Bless.

Lynn Corr
President

SUNSHINE REPORT — Nov/Dec

Pam Miller, Congratulations on the arrival of her latest grandbaby, Marvel Ann. She came early, happy
and healthy, and all of the family are doing well. This is all we can ask for as life goes on and Bob will al-
ways be a part of their foundation and memories. XO
Violetta Whiting, Denise's Aunt, a Sympathy card for the loss of her boyfriend who passed suddenly in
the night. This untimeliness reminds us to tell loved ones every day how much they mean to us. Tell them,
show them, and cherish them daily for we never know when they will be called home.
Barb Batchelor, a Sympathy card for the passing of her mother, Mary, a 95-year-old icon who ran circles
around anyone younger than her and enjoyed life to its fullest. Her and Barb made every moment count
whether they were spending winters here in Estero or summers up in Pennsylvania as she was always up
for a good yard sale and a hearty lunch at the corner diner. Despite her failing health, her smile lit up Face-
book and brought joy to her family and friends.
Bob "Cadillac" Butcher, an Encouragement card as we just found out that he suffered a heart attack ear-
ly in November. He preferred to keep it private until he had some recovery time and was able to attend our
meeting. After stent surgery, he is looking and feeling better despite a whopping shiner on his eye as a re-
minder of the fall he took due to the episode. We wish him the gift of Good Health this Christmas and for
many more years.
How did the ornament get addicted to Christmas?
He was hooked on trees his whole life.
Respectfully submitted by:
Margo Fuoco Pedigo

Bill Ratcliff, a Get-Well card for his eye surgery. He was quick to respond and report that all went well.
Wishing him big visions for 2019!!
Christine Hughes, a Get-Well card for taking a tumble and breaking her wrist. Bones heal with time and
our favorite doctors! Shout out to Dr. Carneiro!
Paul Evans, a Get-Well card for his reconstructive surgery of an old issue. Direct Quote from the Man
himself. "I’m fine, a little reconstructive surgery on the old hernia spot. The one at my navel, not the one
near the big show." We love you, Partway, for that reason and so many more.
Debi Reinbold, a Get Well and Speedy Recovery card for her long awaited hip surgery the day af-
ter Christmas. The pain has plagued her for quite some time so we pray that this procedure brings her the
much needed relief this busy Mamma needs. Rambo and Brian are on full time TLC Duty during this time
of hopeful healing and recovery.
WISHING EVERYONE A MUGFUL OF BAHUMBUGS TOPPED WITH A SHOT OF GRINCH AND A
DASH OF SCROOGE!
Just kidding.
May you all experience joy you never expected in adventures you never imagined!
Merry Christmas and Happy 2019.

I want to thank everybody who attended

Heritage Event. As you all know, it’s a crazy time
to be on the road, but also a beautiful time to

ride, in the evening especially. Always make sure
your lights are working correctly, and especially if
they include Christmas decorations. Speaking of

lights, nothing is more important than watching
ahead of you for brake lights. Always remember to
keep your hand on the forward brake, as that does

most of the stopping power. Very easy to loose
control and wind up in a skid if you apply too
much rear brake. Picture Santa trying to hold back

his reindeer with an emergency brake!
Stay safe but get out and ride.

THE GIFTS

T'was the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a
creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the
chimney with care, in hopes that the Magi, Wise men, soon would be
there. That's a little different than what you're used to, and of course no
one in Bethlehem was expecting the Wise men to arrive. They had traveled from afar
in the east, perhaps Iran, Iraq, or Saudi Arabia in search of Jesus who had been born,
"King of the Jews". People all over the world, especially the Jews, had been eagerly
awaiting the Messiah. His coming would change the entire history of the world, they
believed. Could this baby, born to commoners be the long expected king? The proph-
ets had written: "But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means are least
among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will be the shepherd of
my people Israel". Matthew 2:6

The Magi's visit shows that Jesus came for all people, not just the Jews. They had
traveled a great distance to worship Jesus and presented Him with gifts of gold, frank-
incense, and myrrh. These gifts perhaps, were to tell of Jesus' future life. Gold having
great value represented kingship as He is our King. Frankincense was valued because
in worship it was burned as incense and also used in the making of perfume. Myrrh
was a gum resin from the boswellia sacra and commiphora trees used in mourning and
death as an embalming material. Myrrh resin has also been used throughout history as
a perfume, incense, and medicine. More recently, the University of Florence has dis-
covered that the molecules in myrrh act on the brain's opioid receptors for painkilling
action. Boswellia acid has a structure similar to hormones like testosterone which has
anti-inflammatory and anti-arthritic effects. It is finding pharmacological use against
tumors and colorectal cancer cells. So it may have more value than the gold.

So we see the Magi may have started the idea of gift giving at Christmas, if we
overlook the fact that God gave us the greatest gift of all first. Our gift is Jesus Christ,
who came into this world so we may have salvation and eternal life. If you confess that
Jesus is your Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you
will be saved. But, as Isaiah says, "All day long I have held out my hands to a disobe-
dient and obstinate people". Romans 10:21. We can tell others of the love and saving
powers of Jesus, but you must accept Him for yourself. I encourage you to read Ro-
mans chapter 10. Merry Christmas.

I hope everybody had a happy and safe holiday. Well, the elections are over, and
the new candidates will be taking office in January. We will update the contact in-
formation for these people after they have settled into their office, hopefully by the
next newsletter. Just remember, the fight is still on. We have some serious issues
facing our country right now and we need to remain vigilant. With that in mind, I
think it is very important that as many members as possible make the trek to Talla-
hassee. If you’ve never been, I can guarantee you it’ll be an experience that you
will not soon forget. It is important that Abate of Florida stays in the forefront of
the legislators in Tallahassee. If you need assistance getting
there, or have any questions about Tallahassee, myself or any
other board members would be glad to help you in any way
we can. The chance to go inside the capital and actually
speak to your representatives is an opportunity that should
not be missed. Drive safely during the holidays and God
bless America . . . . Your legislative warrior, Robert R. Crans,
Jr., aka wingnut.
