Difference Between Unlocking And Unblocking A Phone

Do we really understand the difference between unlocking and unblocking a phone? I
think most of us have these two terms confused and can’t really tell one from the other.
You can use device unlock apps to unlock a phone and it is primarily to enable the
phone to work on more than just one network.
Remember, unlocking a mobile phone whether it is with a T-mobile unlock app or
any other way is a totally legal process. The smartphones of today usually come with a
network lock that needs to be removed quite often if and when you want that phone to
work on other networks. Without doing so it cannot accept any other SIMs. So once you
have an unlocked device or smartphone, you have a fully functional device that can work
on any network and can accept any and all SIM cards in the market.

Unblocking on the other hand is an illegal activity. If you go to a trustworthy phone
shop or a repair firm or an unlocking company, they will avoid guiding you about it and
would advise you not to move forward with it. When it comes to unlocking a phone with
a device unlock app, you need to know that a particular brand or series of phones are
locked for a reason. They can be used only on a particular network so the network
provider can subsidize the device’s price to their customers. This lets the customer buy a

high priced phone for a lower price and many people readily do that. It is typically for
the simple reason that an unlocked device otherwise would be very expensive on their
pocket. An unlocked phone is also known as a “SIM free” device.

When you compare this to a blocked phone, the latter is often also known as “barred” or
“bricked” phone. This happens primarily because the phone was either lost or stolen
and the owner has reported it to the police or the company itself. And the barred or
blocked phone will no longer work on any network. Things won’t change until the
verified owner requests the block to be removed. Remember, handling or keeping a
stolen phone is also a legal offence in the eyes of the law. It is advised to contact the
police if and when you come in contact with one.
