BRAC 50 Years Celebration

Honorable Angellah Kairuki, the Minister of Local

Government and President’s Office Administration,

Suluhu Hassan, she congratulated BRAC on its 50th

their lives, especially women and girls. I am encouraged
by your long-term plans to expand your reach and your
projects” she stated.

Customer Service Week

The month of September has a week fully dedicated to customer service that is an international celebration of the
importance of customer service and of the people who serve and support customers on a daily basis. At BRAC we
celebrated the week by thanking our service providers and also thanking our clients. We provided umbrellas to the
clients who have been with us for 10-15 years for group loan, and 10-5 years for SEP and Agrifinance. Total of 1086

Succesful Story

My name is Milicent Mavika, 25 years old until, I received information from one of my
living at Mwang’ombe street in Tanga region. relatives and from the street office that BRAC
My education level before joined BRAC in the Maendeleo Tanzania is initiating Accelerated
Accelerated learning Project as a beneficiary learning Project for dropout adolescent girls who
was as follow, I completed standard seven in failed to complete Ordinary education so I joined
2009 at Ngelengele Primary School and got a as one of the participant at Pongwe study center
chance to continue secondary education at in 2016. As beneficiary I received all necessary
Ngelengele Secondary School however due to learning support from BRAC team finally I
financial reasons (My family didn’t have completed my Ordinary Education level and
money to pay my school fees), I could not passed the Form Four National Examination with
continue with school. So, I dropped out of Division Three in 2017 and joined Advance
school when I was in Form two in 2011 and education level at Coastal High School under
stayed at home. support from BRAC and completed Form Six in
2019 with Division One pass mark. Now I’m
university student pursing Political Science and
Public Administration Degree at University of Dar
es Salaam.
Despite of being supported by government loan
board in my studies, I am facing some challenges
such as inadequate expenses because my family
doesn’t support me financially due to the fact that
they are only engage in small business that
cannot afford my meal and other bills. So, I
entreat BRAC to continue support us financially.
There is huge roles played by BRAC as
organization in support the development of poor
families through difference programs that are
undertaken by BRAC because I witnessed myself
from where I was academically till now, she
continued said:

I’m really thankful to BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania
in association with NORAD for initiating and
running this project in our village because it
helped many adolescent girls who came from
marginalized families also I thank BRAC Officers
for the big support in the study center in general
