OUR STORY Transforming lives and inspiring hope, through immersive mission trips in the heart of Central Appalachia Appalachia Service Project started in 1969 when our founder, Tex Evans, connected the energy of volunteers with the deep needs of families in Central Appalachia. Now, fifty years later, ASP has empowered more than 440,000 volunteers to serve alongside 19,000 families.
OUR FOUNDATION Warmer. Safer. Drier.® ASP volunteers provide high quality home repairs for Appalachian families. Relationship Ministry ASP volunteers and families develop life-long relationships. Transformation Everyone who comes into contact with this ministry is transformed.
OUR MISSION TRIPS Life-changing opportunities for volunteers from middle school through adults Summer Trips (June-August): Week-long experiences tailored for youth volunteers with adult leaders Year-Round Trips (September-early May): Flexible 2-5 day experiences for all levels of construction experience (home repair, new build, disaster recovery)
OUR SERVICE AREA The Heart of Central Appalachia Spanning five states in Central Appalachia, ASP serves in 20-25 counties each year, making homes warmer, safer, and drier. We’ll work with your group to choose a time and location that’s most convenient for you.
MISSION TRIP COSTS When we say our mission trips are all-inclusive, we mean it From lodging and food to construction materials and evening programming, we’ll take care of everything you need for a successful mission trip. We’ll even supply tools if necessary. Week-Long Trip (Sunday to Saturday): $375 / person Flexible Trips: $75 / person / workday
