Ein thema y tymor yma oedd ‘Y Celtiaid’ a’r Tymor yma ein thema ni oedd ‘Deinosoriaid’. Rydym wedi mwynhau dysgu am y gwahanol
‘Rhufeiniaid’. Dysgom lawer wrth fynd ar ddeinosoriaid a sut roedden nhw’n byw. Buom yn didoli’r deinosoriaid rhwng cigysydd a
daith i hen bentref Celtaidd yng Nghastell llysysydd. Yna gwnaethom ddysgu beth oedd angen ar gigysydd i hela. Gwnaethom fwynhau
Henllys lle cafodd pawb gyfle i goginio, creu deinosoriaid ein hunain gan ddefnyddio olion llaw. Er mwyn datblygu ein sgiliau
adeiladu a blasu sut fyddai bywyd yn yr rhifedd, buom yn hela olion traed deinosor o gwmpas yr iard cyn eu trefnu o’r mwyaf i’r

Our theme this term was ‘The Celts’ and ‘The Romans’. We
learned a lot while visiting an old Celtic village at Castell
Henllys where everyone had the opportunity to cook, build
and taste what Iron Age life was like. In class we learned
about the lives of Buddug and Julius Caesar, with everyone
having the opportunity to develop their ICT skills while
creating a fact file on J2E5. We also learned that there
were no ordinary numbers in the period and they used
Roman numerals, and we used our numeracy skills to do
addition and subtraction work. Our scientific task was to
create a catapult and then use measuring skills to find out
how far the catapult threw different sweets. We all also
had fun using Minecraft: Education to create Roman homes.

Yn ystod yr hanner tymor yma rydym ni wedi bod wrth ein bodd yn astudio ein thema sef ‘Pentre’ Bach’. Rydym wedi mwynhau dysgu am Drimsaran, trwy
fynd am dro o amgylch y pentref a dysgu am y pethau gwahanol sydd ynddo. Buom yn brysur iawn yn creu lluniau o’r pethau gwahanol, gan beintio,
defnyddio’r bwrdd ‘clevertouch’ a chreu gwaith ar y cliniaduron. Penderfynodd y plant i greu siop yn ein hardal chwarae rôl, lle roedd cyfle i brynu llawer
o wahanol bethau. Roedd losin yn beth poblogaidd iawn i brynu yn y dosbarth! Wrth i’r tywydd oeri, rydym wedi dechrau dysgu am y tymhorau a beth
sydd yn newid wrth i’r misoedd fynd heibio. Fe ddysgom am dymor yr hydref a beth sydd yn digwydd i’r coed, newidiadau yn y dail, a’r math o bethau
rydym yn gweld wrth gerdded o gwmpas. Cafodd y plant lawer o hwyl yn cerdded o amgylch tir yr ysgol a chasglu’r dail lliwgar, dysgu a chanu caneuon am
yr hydref a hefyd dysgu am sut mae’r anifeiliaid yn gofalu am ei hunain. Rydym yn edrych ymlaen at
ddysgu mwy am ein hardal leol ar ôl yr hanner tymor.

During this half term we have been excited learning about our latest theme ‘Our Village’. We have
enjoyed learning about Trimsaran, going for walks around the village and seeing the different things
that are around us. We have been very busy talking and creating pictures of our village, using paint,
the clevertouch board and computers. The children decided that as a role play area within the class,
they would like to have a shop selling lots of different things. Sweets proved to be a very popular
product! As the weather gets colder we have started learning about the different seasons and what
changes happen as months pass. We have begun to learn about autumn and what happens to the trees,
the changes in the leaves, and about other things we have noticed whilst walking around. We have had lots of fun walking around the school
collecting the colourful leaves, learning and singing songs about the Autumn and how the animals look after themselves as the weather changes.
We are looking forward to learning more about the local area after the half term.
