1.0 INRODUCTION
Water pollution is the contamination of water sources by substances, such as chemicals waste or toxic substances which make the water unusable for drinking, cooking, cleaning, swimming, and other human activities. Pollutants can be chemicals, trash, bacteria, and parasites. All forms of pollution eventually make their way to water. Water pollution occurs when harmful substances, such as chemicals waste or microorganisms contaminate a stream, river, lake, ocean, aquifer, or other body of water, degrading water quality and rendering it toxic to humans or the environment. 2.0 WHAT IS WATER POLLUTION
3.0 Causes of water pollution Water is a universal solvent that can dissolve a lot of substances. This is the reason why water easily been polluted. Agriculture, industrial waste, oil pollution and radioactive substances are the main sources of water pollution in worldwide. Harmful substances come from farms, towns, and factories readily dissolve into and mix with water, this will cause water pollution
3.1 AGRICULTURE To prevent pests, insect and bacteria, farmers will use pesticides and chemical substances to protect their crops. This action will bring negative impact to the environment. Animals, plants and human will be harmed if the chemical substances or pesticides leaked into the ground water.
3.2 industrial waste One of the main sources of water pollution is industrial waste. This situation usually happened when some factory still do not have proper waste management systems. In those rare cases, industrial waste is dumped into the river or lake nearby. If industrial waste is not treated properly, it can very easily pollute the river and lake that it comes into contact with.
It is common knowledge that between water and oil cannot mix together, oil cannot dissolve in water. Water pollution cause by oil is happen when large oil spills and oil leaks accidentally. Ussually, leaks and spills happen because of oil drilling operations in the ocean or ships that transport oil. 3.3 oil pollution
Radioactive waste that used for create nuclear energy can be extremely hazardous to the environment. So it must be disposed properly to prevent impact for environment. This is because the element used in the creation of nuclear energy is a highly toxic chemical. Unfortunately, accidents still happen, the toxic waste is still released into the environment. 3.4 radioactive waste
Water is a natural resource, essential for life on Earth. If water be polluted, it will serve implications to human life. Polluted water will cause disease that dangers to human health. Refers to World Health Organization (WHO), about 2 billion people have no option but to drink water contaminated by excrement, exposing them to diseases. The disease cause by water pollution include cholera, giardia and typhoid fever. 4.0 effects of water pollution on human health
To solve the problem of water pollution, we can do wastewater treatment. Wastewater treatment facilities can reduce pollutants in water through biological, physical, and chemical processes. For example, sewage treatments allow water to travel through different sanitization chambers to reduce toxic levels of water pollutants and prevent leakages into water systems. In agriculture, farmers be encouraged to use pesticides and fertilizers that contain no harmful chemicals. Farmers also can plant trees and creating wetlands to form buffer zones, which filter runoff and water pollutants. 5.0 Way to overcome water pollution
Water plays a part in all our daily activities, necessary for eating, washing and drinking, but also for social and technological activities. It is very important to human life. Without clean water, the world will be affected seriously, no wonder human animals or plants. To prevent the effects, we must always take action to protect all the water sources. 6.0 Conclusion
