ORB OF THE NIGHT Aina Shibu

Your beauty can not be expressed by words
You are a symbol of the spiritual aspects of femininity
You represent the rhythm of time
Dancing with your friends the stars

The melodious songs the crickets play
You show us that ending can be beautiful as well
You remind me of cookies as you are round like it
You are so mysterious

Even in the darkness you spread light
Looking through my window, I see you smiling at me
Wishing me good night
Oh how I wished to touch you

When you leave
It’s a promise that we will ever meet
You are certainly a queen in the dark sky
Ruling over the stars
Spreading light and shining bright in the dark sky

Even the mighty sun is no match compared to your beauty
You are a beauty

Brain Dump

Do you have so much in your head? Don't worry! I am going to
present to you a way to untangle your brain. Ever heard the word
'Brain dump'? Well, it's a fantastic way to free your brain of stress. So,
what is a 'brain dump'? A brain dump is when you transfer your
accessible knowledge of a particular thing in your brain to a storage
medium such as a sheet of paper, a book, or a computer. A brain
dump is a comfortable way to plan yourself. Collect all the
information in your brain and write until you feel like the pressure
inside of you is lessened until you can take a big breath. Then you will
have achieved a brain dump. Advantages of a Brain Dump . Using a
brain dump helps you to improve your focus and productivity levels.
Writing a brain dump helps you to remember information. A brain
dump can also enhance mental recall. When you are writing a brain
dump, it helps to reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety, and depression.
The information gets stored so that you can access it later. A brain
dump encourages creativity and problem-solving by addressing
concerns rather than ignoring/forgetting them. Thus, a brain dump is
a fantastic way to free your mind.

Electronics

Look around you. What do you see the most in this modern
world? Electronics. There is not a day in this world without
you using electronics. We use electronics in almost all our day-
to-day activities to make our lives easier. For example, we
have so many electronics in our kitchen that won't allow us to
break a sweat! Sometimes these electronics are overused.
Children use computers all the time now, which leads to
eyesight problems. Children are glued to their computers as if
there is nothing other than them and their computers. Video
games, videos, and so on are some things that catch their
attention. Encouraging them to read books and interact with
the outside world is the original way to detach them from
their computers or electronics. Even if these electronics have
disadvantages, it isn't all so awful. Electronics have reduced
the distance between countries because of the calling
facilities. During the Covid time, schools had to be closed, but
video calling facilities enabled them to continue their studies.
Online shopping is a thing now. People order online thus,
allows them to buy without moving from their place. Research
assignments are not a problem nowadays because of
electronics. Even if electronics have their advantages, they
also come with disadvantages.

Hurricanes

 Hurricane or Cyclone or Typhoon is a system of winds rotating

counterclockwise around a low-pressure center. The swirling air
rises and cools, creating clouds and precipitation.

 The main cause of hurricanes are the atmospheric disturbances

and the Earth's rotation which reports a whirling motion to these
disturbances.

 Hurricane is formed when the warm, moist air rises upward over

the ocean. As this air moves up, there is a formation of a low-
pressure area below

 The low-pressure area is filled with the high-pressure air from the

surroundings. Again, the next batch of cool air gets warm and
moist over the ocean moving upward. This once again results in
the formation of a low-pressure area and the cycle continues, this
result in the formation of clouds in the air. When more clouds are
formed the storm system forms
 As the storm system rotates faster, an eye is formed in the center.
The eye of the storm is considered to be the calm and the clear
part because the air pressure in the eye of the storm is low.

Great Pyramid of Giza
 The Great Pyramid of Giza is the largest Egyptian pyramid

and the tomb of Fourth Dynasty pharaoh Khufu. Built in
the 26th century BC during a period of around 27 years, it
is the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World,
and the only one to remain largely intact.

 The pyramids of Giza are mostly solid masses of stone

with very little to be found inside. Like many ancient
Egyptian pyramids, they have passageways at their base
that lead to small subterranean burial chambers
underneath each pyramid.

 The Giza Pyramids, built to endure an eternity, have done

just that. The monumental tombs are relics of Egypt's Old
Kingdom era and were constructed some 4,500 years ago.

 Egypt's pharaohs expected to become gods in the

afterlife. To prepare for the next world they erected
temples to the gods and massive pyramid tombs for
themselves and filled with all the things each ruler would
need to guide and sustain himself in the next world.

Music

Music is a pleasant flow of sounds in the air, which changes with rhythm
and systematic method. It is the skill or art that a musician possesses and
gives a musical performance for the audience. One of the greatest boons of
God for all living beings is music. Music helps in classifying all the sounds in
rhythm into a system, and then anybody can learn and practice it.
Everybody enjoys the harmony and the pleasant rhythm made by the
musical sounds. According to the dictionary, music is an art of sound, which
explains the ideas and emotions through the elements of rhythm, harmony,
and melody. Music helps us to feel relaxed and refreshed, which soothes
our bodies. It removes our anxiety and stress from everyday life. For
healing your pain, music is excellent medicine. Music helps in taking us in
the world of melody and helps us in forgetting disturbing memories. Music
helps us bring back the old memories. Music therapy is a great way to solve
several problems and several emotions in our daily life. Music helps our
brains function quicker and helps us maintain our calm in the daily life
schedule. The essence of life is music. Everything with a rhythm is music.
Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to
be silent.

Fire and Ice

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.

From what I’ve tasted of desire
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice
-Robert Frost

Summary

Robert Frost’s poem Fire and Ice´ is a strong symbolic poem
where the fire is used as the emotion of desire and ice, that of
hatred. He has used the idea of two groups who have their own
possible explanation for the end of the world. One believes that
fire alone can destroy each and every possibility of life on Earth
while the other thinks that if ice as a result of extremely low
temperatures could cover the Earth’s surface.

My aim of life to become a fighter pilot

Everyone has some ambition, dull and boring. Without
ambition, life is purposeless. Ambition makes a person
active and hard working. My aim in life is to become a
fighter jet pilot. None of my relatives are pilots so I will
be the first one in my whole family to be a pilot. I’ve
been fascinated by the Indian air force. I heard that the
life of a pilot is full of thrill, adventure and challenges. I
always speak to myself about how amazing it would be
to fly in that iron bird in the sky. As a fighter pilot, I
would like to dedicate myself to my homeland. Our
country India is very vast. Its area, borders, and coastline
areas are extensive, so they need a vast and efficient air
defense system. My parents are a priceless inspiration
because they believe in me the that I am capable of
accomplishing something , and their perspective inspired
me to believe in myself and my goals. And if I have the
courage to dream it I would surely have the confidence to
pursue it, one day I will feel my dream.

Our mother Nature Chandini Rasighani

Everything is nature,
God gave us this feature.

Birds fly in the sky,
And mountains so high

Trees are green,
And water so clean.

We are only harming it ,
But it never betrays.

It always gives us right way,
Please leave it as it is.

Don't try to play with it

They give us food, they give us shade
But why can’t we give them some space

Nature is full of joy,
Please don’t think it’s a toy

Don’t play with it,
Please save it.

IMPACT OF INTERNET

The Internet has changed business, education, government, healthcare, and even the
ways in which we interact with our loved ones—it has become one of the key drivers
of social evolution. The changes in social communication are of particular significance.
The Internet has turned our existence upside down. It has revolutionized
communications, to the extent that it is now our preferred medium of everyday
communication. But today a click or two is enough to read your local paper and any
news source from anywhere in the world, updated up to the minute. The Internet’s
positive effects include the following:

 It provides effective communication using emailing and instant messaging services
to any part of the world.

 It improves business interactions and transactions, saving on vital time.
 Banking and shopping online have made life less complicated.

 You can access the latest news from any part of the world without depending on the
TV or newspaper.

 Education has received a huge boost as uncountable books and journals are
available online from libraries across the world. This has made research easier.

Students can now opt for online courses using the internet.
The Negative Impacts of the Internet on Society include:
 Easy availability of illegal or inappropriate materials online that aren’t age-suitable.

 It can be addicting and it can hurt our communication skills. Extended screen time
can result in health ramifications like insomnia, eyestrain, and increased anxiety and

depression.
 Using the Dark Web to trade stolen material and data.
 Addiction to social networks can disrupt an individual’s life, both personally and
professionally.  Some miscreants use the Internet to hack into people’s accounts for
spurious activities including stealing data or banking information.
 Yet others have been known to misuse the Internet for spreading hate and

terrorism, two dangerously catastrophic scenario.

An Ugly Battle Fiona Joby John

They can't feel anything,
no, they are not dead.
They can't think of anything,
their innocence was taken away.
They are afraid of being judged,
so, they keep their mouths shut.
They are the victims of torture,
but they get blamed anyway.

Men or women,
children and infants,
no one is spared,
from this horrible net.
They feel dirty about themselves,
They feel disgusted with themselves,
They feel unworthy of themselves,
just because of something they couldn't control.

They were in a fight
that left them with irreversible scars.
There is no shame in losing
such hideous fights.

They have accepted that it is okay
not to be okay and what they have suffered
was not okay,
it was far from it!
They are over it, and they couldn’t care less now,
But one thing they know for sure is that
they have won this ugly battle!

Friendship

I wanted to thank you but was
unable to explain what it means
to have a friend, to share life's
joys and life’s pain. It's good to

know our friendship is one of
endless devotion.

Forget out of respect and
every kind of emotion.

It's patient and forgiving,
never failing or forsaking.

When a hand is
outstretched or one's
heart is breaking it's
never painful, even when
the world condemns and
sparkles in the darkness
like fireworks and gems.

44

It does my heart good at
the end of the day.

To know that you will never
be more than an email away

Proof of a true friend knows that, if I
were lost you would find me.

Authors Who Predicted Future and Were Right

Authors, they always try to think and write something that’s beyond
imagination for an ordinary man. “Predicting the Future” has always been a
popular and favorite topic among them. Most of the writers were wrong
but few of them were absolutely right.

JOHN BRUNNER

He predicted that the world's population would have exceeded 7 billion by
2010. In fact, he was only a year out: this happened in October 2011.

MICHEL VERNE

In the book, Verne predicted the emergence of automobiles driven by the
combustion engine, invented four years earlier. The first car, however, was
not built until 1889 by Daimler, 26 years after the manuscript was written.

JONATHAN SWIFT

Jonathan Swift's "Gulliver's Travels" predicted the discovery of Mars' two
moons. This 1726 social satire follows a man named Gulliver as he travels
into different worlds, like one occupied by tiny humans or another
inhabited by giants

Social media

Social Media started as a place to connect with your friends in an
easy and convenient way. Most businesses use social media to
find and communicate with clients. But it is a great distraction to
employees, who may show more interest in what their friends are
posting than in their work tasks. Many studies have shown that
the extensive use of social media can actually cause addiction to
the users. Throughout their day, they feel to post something on
their pages or check others posts as it has become an important
part of our life. Extreme usage of social media has reduced the
level of human interaction. Because of social networks the
interaction with other people has become effortless and people
have isolated their lives behind their online identities. Social
networks has provided us the opportunity to connect with people
and build better relationships with friends with whom we are
unable to meet personally, and let them know about our life and
take input about their lives and events happening with them. We
have mentioned a few positive and negative points of social
media, but it doesn't explain that social media is good or a bad
thing. It stands somewhere in between.

Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was born in Kentucky on February 12, 1809, to parents who could neither read
nor write. He went to school on and off for a total of about a year, but he educated himself by
reading borrowed books. When Lincoln was nine years old, his mother died. His father—a
carpenter and farmer—remarried and moved his family farther west, eventually settling in
Illinois. As a young adult, Lincoln worked as a flatboat navigator, storekeeper, soldier, surveyor,
and postmaster. At age 25 he was elected to the local government in Springfield, Illinois. Once
there, he taught himself law, opened a law practice, and earned the nickname "Honest Abe." He
served one term in the U.S. House of Representatives but lost two U.S. Senate races. But the
debates he had about the enslavement of people with his 1858 senatorial opponent, Stephen
Douglas, helped him win the presidential nomination two years later. (Lincoln opposed the
spread of slavery in the United States.) In the four-way presidential race of 1860, Lincoln got
more votes than any other candidate. Lincoln’s primary goal as president was to hold the
country together. For a long time, it didn’t look as if he would succeed. During the early years,
the South was winning the war. It wasn’t until the Battle of Gettysburg in Pennsylvania during
July 1863 that the war turned in favor of the Union. When Lincoln first took office in 1861, the
United States was not truly united. The nation had been arguing for more than a hundred years
about enslaving people and each state’s right to allow it. When he became president, Lincoln
allowed the enslavement of people to continue in southern states but he outlawed its spread to
other existing states and states that might later join the Union. Southern leaders didn’t agree
with this plan and decided to secede, or withdraw, from the nation. Eventually, 11 southern
states formed the Confederate States of America to oppose the 23 northern states that
remained in the Union. The Civil War officially began on April 12, 1861, at Fort Sumter, South
Carolina, when troops from the Confederacy attacked the U.S. fort. Through speeches such as
the Gettysburg Address, Lincoln encouraged Northerners to keep fighting. Earlier that same year
Lincoln called for the end of the enslavement of people in his Emancipation Proclamation
speech. When the war was nearly over, Lincoln was re-elected in 1864. Civil War victory came
on April 9, 1865, at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, when Confederate General Robert E. Lee
surrendered to Union General Ulysses S. Grant. Some 750,000 soldiers had died during the four-
year conflict. Less than a week after people celebrated the end the Civil War, the country was
mourning yet again. Lincoln became the first president to be assassinated when he was shot on
April 14, 1865. The night he was shot, he and his wife, Mary Todd Lincoln, were watching a play
in Washington, D.C. The entrance to their box seats was poorly guarded, allowing actor John
Wilkes Booth to enter. Booth hoped to revive the Confederate cause by killing Lincoln. He shot
Lincoln in the back of the head, then fled the theater. He wasn’t caught until two weeks later.
He was shot during his eventual capture and died from his wounds. The wounded and
unconscious president was carried to a boardinghouse across the street, where he died the next
morning, April 15, 1865. Lincoln’s presidency was tragically cut short, but his contributions to
the United States ensured that he would be remembered as one of its most influential
presidents.
