March 2016 Bulletin

Galilee Church

All glory to him who loves us and has freed us
from our sins by shedding his blood for us.
He has made us a Kingdom of priests for God
his Father. All glory and power to him forever
and ever! Amen.

Look! He comes with the clouds of heaven. And
everyone will see him—even those who pierced
him. And all the nations of the world will
mourn for him. Yes! Amen!

Revelation 1:5-7

March 2016

Welcome

A Message from Pastor Jason New to Galilee?
Dear Friend,
It’s important to pay attention to Let us know you’re here by filling out
a dying man’s words. When time a Connection Card in worship.
is short, a person won’t bother
with unimportant matters—they We’d love to know you better and tell
will share from their heart. That’s you about ministries and groups that
one reason we are learning about
Christ’s last words from the cross may interest you.
in our worship series, Final Words,
based on the study by Adam
Hamilton. What could be more
important than Our Lord’s last
words?
Except (spoiler alert) the great
miracle of our faith is that Christ’s
dying words were not and are not
the end of the story! As Lent leads
into Easter this month, our
congregation pivots from the
somber meditation of Jesus’s
death to the joy of His
resurrection.
What Christ shares from His heart,
he shares continually with words
that bring new life. I pray that new
life is engendered in your heart in
a special way this season.
In Christ,

Jason Duley, Pastor

Spring Break Food Drive for
Backpack Buddies

We realize that spring break is a great holiday for children but it puts
added pressure on family budgets to provide wholesome meals for the
family each day. We plan to send full-size food items that will help
the entire family for the week of spring break!
Each bag will contain the following:

1 Box of cereal 1 bag of uncooked rice
1 jar of peanut butter 1 jar of jelly
1 box of pasta 1 jar of pasta sauce
1 can of fruit 2 cans of vegetables
1 bag of dry beans

PLEASE DO NOT SEND GLASS CONTAINERS!

You can help by providing ingredients to fill the bag - or perhaps fill a
complete bag! We MUST have the food by March 11.

We are committed to providing food that
is NOT EXPIRED and in packaging that is
NOT DENTED or DAMAGED in any way.

Any additional food items that are
received in excess of what we need to
complete the bags or food that is not on
the list will be donated to
Loudoun Interfaith Relief.

Nothing will go to waste!

The Chapel at Lansdowne Woods

A Message from Pastor Matt Everyone Is Welcome!
I was reading the Parable of the Lost
Coin the other day, as a part of my Chapel Worship Service:
Lent devotion. This is the parable Sundays at 10am
which asks, “Suppose a woman has
ten silver coins and loses one. Won’t 19375 Magnolia Grove Square
she light a lamp and sweep the en- Lansdowne, VA 20176
tire house and search carefully until 703.858.7000 - Office
she finds it?”
God’s love for us—and His sense of
loss when we stray—is like that. If
we are lost, God will most certainly
sweep the farthest corners of the
earth to find us, and then throw a
party when we are found. That’s the
message of the parable, and in fact
that is what happened at Easter
many centuries ago.
God loved us enough to become one
of us. He stretched out his arms on
the cross to welcome the least of us
into His kingdom. No matter what
we do, no matter how far we fall,
we cannot be separated from the
relentless love of God. No life, no
person, is without value to God.
Know that this is true! Read Luke 15
this month and know that you are
one of God’s greatest treasures!
In Christ,

Matt Sergent, Associate Pastor
