The Global

Services for
Non-Profit
Organizations:
Grant Writing and
Social Enterprising
www.theglobalcottage.com
The team at The Global Cottage offers sustainable solutions for non-profit/non-
governmental organizations to secure grant funding and maintain financial
sustainability through the creating and management of social enterprises.
The Global Cottage, as an organization development consultancy firm recognizes
that many non-profit organizations depend on external funding, specifically grant
funding to survive. While this is not recommended from the standpoint of
organization sustainability, it is often a necessity for organizations to build their
capacity and their brand while exploring options to support their vision and mission
in the long-term. Additionally, it is essential for non-profit/non-governmental
organizations to both understand and be able to communicate the Social Return
On Investment (SROI) that results from its services to demonstrate that maximum
leveraging is occurring when funds are awarded to support the organization.
The Global Cottage is a passionate advocate for the creation of social enterprises.
A social enterprise is a revenue-generating business that is created by a non-profit
organization to support and expand its mission by using entrepreneurial
approaches. One of the first steps to embarking on a social enterprise is instilling
an entrepreneurial mindset within your non-profit organization.
“Grants sustain projects. Social enterprises sustain organizations.”
