2015 Scholars & Explorers
Each year The Victory shares the stories of new Scholars & Explorers, honouring and preserving Traf’s
legacy of outstanding women. This tradition began in 2012 with the 125 Women of Trafalgar – Scholars &
Explorers magazine. We invite Old Girls and the Traf family at large to nominate future Scholars & Explorers
and add to this impressive list. Visit www.trafalgar.qc.ca to read the initial publication.

Greatest show on earth
The #TrafFamily went to the circus on June 4 raising over $45,000 for the evolution of Traf’s classic library and
to raise funds for the Bursary Fund – supporting over 20% of the student body. Over 230 guests enjoyed an
abundance of delicious food and drink, prizes, and an amazing show given by the École Nationale de Cirque.
Everyone “stepped right up” to this new event. Our thanks to our marvelous Co-Chairs and current parents
Simone Blatt, Mia Fellen, and Darlene Singerman, and their amazing Circus Train of volunteers, for organizing an
event for the entire Traf family.

SAVE THE DATE! Thursday, May 5, 2016
Traf’s Annual Fundraiser for the Entire Traf Family!
“Magic and Mystery: The Disappearing Principal”
Geoff Dowd’s run as Principal comes to an end in June 2016.
Where did the 22 years go?
Join us as we celebrate Mr. Dowd’s retirement and successful career at
Trafalgar School for Girls and the lasting impact he has had on Traf’s students and the school.
On May 5, share in two of Mr. Dowd’s favourite things…Sherlock Holmes and the mystery of magic!
You won’t want to miss this Sherlock Holmes-themed cocktail event and performance by master illusionist Ted Outerbridge!
Fun Fact: Principal Dowd is a charter member of Montreal’s Sherlock Holmes society, The Bimetallic Question..
Proceeds will create a newly established bursary to honour Mr. Dowd for his 22 years of service to Trafalgar.
Funds raised will benefit this “enDowdment” and a school wishlist item.
Watch for more information and your invitation to attend this special event. Old Girls, former and current parents and friends
are welcome to join the planning committee for this special farewell.
Contact Sharon Cozens at 514-935-2644 x 237 [email protected].
Ted Outerbridge has been hailed by critics as “the most successful professional
magician in Canada” and “a champion of magic.” Performing professionally
since 1982, Ted Outerbridge (cousin of Old Girls Laurie Shetler ’80, Catherine
Outerbridge ’81, Kim Shetler ’82, Barbara Outerbridge ’84 and Vanessa
Esposito ’15) has been featured in theatres from coast to coast and on both sides
of the Atlantic, where he set box office records with his tours: Illusions, Magician
Extraordinaire, Magical Moments in Time, and The Time Capsule Tour. To learn
more about Ted and his talents, visit tedouterbridge.com
