FOUNDATION

Dear Friends of the Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation,

As we come to the end of the Foundation’s fiscal year,
I can’t help but think of the many milestones this year
has brought. The support of our many donors and
volunteers has reached new levels and it is nearly
impossible to express enough gratitude. Together we
hope to provide new levels of fundraising support to the
Catalina Island Medical Center and its mission to deliver
top-quality, compassionate, close-to-home healthcare
in our community.

As a member of our community, I see the positive difference that contributions to the Catalina
Island Medical Center Foundation can make in the lives of patients and their families. We support
programs that reach out to underserved members in our community, services that help keep seniors
and others healthier longer, and purchase equipment and technologies to improve delivery of care
while sustaining a healing environment. Catalina Island Medical Center Foundation will continue to
provide much-needed funding because of the generous philanthropic support from our community.

This year the Foundation faced new challenges to inspire hope. As the deadline for the Alfred E.
Alquist Hospital Facilities Seismic Safety Act continues to get closer, the Foundation perused a
ballot measure to solidify funding. This first attempt was met with both praise and questions. Those
questions resulted in the hospital consortium group forming to pursue resolution and move forward
with planning for the new hospital. This effort reminds us that as a community we all have a part in
Catalina Island Medical Center’s promise of excellence in healthcare. For each of us, the future could
hold a trip to the CIMC Emergency Department, the Intensive Care Unit, Diagnostic Imaging, or other
departments within the hospital. That’s why efforts by the Foundation to help secure a sound future
for our hospital are so important and so personal.

I join other members of the Board in inviting you to learn more about Catalina Island Medical Center
Foundation and its ongoing efforts to help fund new equipment, services and facilities at our
hospital. Visit the Foundation website to share patient success stories. We welcome your interest

MISSION

STATEMENT

One of Catalina Island Medical Center’s biggest “ LEAD THE
sources of support has been the Catalina Island WAY WITH
Medical Center Foundation. Formed in 1980 PREVENTION

are led by the CIMCF Chair, the Board-
Chair relationship is a partnership, and the
appropriate involvement of the members is
both critical and expected.

We are always open to additional Board
Members who have extensive professional
experience with significant executive leadership
accomplishments in business, government,
philanthropy, or the nonprofit sector.

Thanks to the hard work of many of volunteers and

With Oscar continues to be our signature event and
primary fundraiser.

This unique event brings together visitors and locals in
the incomparable surroundings of the Avalon Casino
Ballroom. Attendees enjoy a gourmet dinner, Oscar
voting and the Academy Awards telecast. A silent and
live auction provide the opportunity to bid on an array
of art, jewelry, getaways and collectibles.
