Autumn 2019 Tokyo Japan - Launch of Multicar in Asia

ASKA Motor Company recently launched
the Multicar brand in Japan on the
2019 Tokyo highway maintenance fair.
23,656 visitors visited the exhibition at
the Tokyo Big Sight during the 8-9
October, 2019 event.

Japan. This has been done via visits by
Aska Motor company to Hako/Multicar
manufacturing locations in Germany for
product and technical specific training
and also by Hako visits to Japan to
determine the best possible applications
to start with combined with the right
marketing strategy to start.

The Multicar series comprises efficient, multifunctional load & implement carriers.
Each model meets the highest demands in terms of economically efficient
Municipal Technology. Different chassis and drive variants as well the wide range of
attachments and super structures available enable all-season use at maximum
capacity: Sweeping in the spring, green area maintenance in the summer, collecting
leaves in autumn, providing winter services in the cold season or carrying out
transport tasks throughout the year. Thanks to being equipped with universal
interfaces, each Multicar can be re-tooled and used for every application.

Aska Group has now started with the Multicar M31 Hybrid Solution, specifically
looking into solutions concerning winter service, highway roadside maintenance of
trash, garbage, leafs and later also plan to introduce tunnel cleaning solution.

Clean Korea 2019

Steamgenie, Hako exclusive distributor in South Korea, showcased

The Middle East Cleaning Technology Week

Minuteman International showcased full range of PowerBoss & Minuteman
products in ISSA show, North America 2019 during 18-21 November, 2019 at
Las Vegas Convention Center.

“The Show was well attended and the Minuteman booth had a steady high
crowd throughout most of the show. The RoboScrub was featured in our own

interest. The show generated more than 100 new leads especially on the

Regional Product Launch

Hako Group East Asia Bangkok introduced the latest
Scrubmaster B260 R - The Fulfilment of Hako
Scrubber-Drier Family - to all Hako dealers in the
region during the regional product launch on
3 – 4 December, 2019 with the reintroduction of
Scrubmaster B175 R and new Citymaster 1650 at
Hako Group East Asia office in Bangkok.

Introduction of PowerBoss Nautilus Battery Version
to Middle East Market

December 1, 2019 – The new Battery Version combination
machine was introduced by Jack Hill, President and CEO at
Minuteman International to Middle East market in Park Hyatt
Jeddah, The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by Reza Hygiene
Systems – A Division of Reza Investment Co., Ltd., Exclusive
dealer of Hako & authorized PowerBoss Distributor in
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Over 35 attendees participated.

In addition, Scrubmaster B175 R with pre sweep was also
introduced to key decision makers from Binladen group and
AL Haram mosque.

The event proceeded successfully and right after the event,
both machines were sent to the Holy Mosque of Meccah. The
president of the General Presidency of the Affairs of the Two
Holy Mosque, Sheikh Abdul Rahamn Al Sudias inaugurated the
launch. He personally drove the PowerBoss Battery Version
combi machine to check its effectiveness in cleaning
and was satisfied with the result.

The feature they particularly like the most is the full battery
solution. This is environment friendly, considerably less noise
and doesn’t have any fumes as compared to a combustion
engine machine. They were also impressed of the fast charging
concept which will enable them to use the machine for
multiple shifts per day.

The mosque receives around 15 million pilgrims annually and
over 2 million during the period of Hajj.

BU: Visitors showed great interest in the future: By showcasing the
Citymaster 1650 ZE, Hako presented its contribution to climate-friendly
solutions in the field of Municipal Technology during 23-25 June, 2019 at
Flugplatz Eisenach-Kidel.

A special highlight awaited visitors to Europe’s largest open-air exhibition
for the green industry from the very beginning in the form of the new
Citymaster 1650. As a further development of Hako’s successful
Citymaster 1600, this compact sweeper and versatile implement carrier
offers even more working comfort and safety while providing an equally
high level of performance efficiency. This development shows that
constant product optimisation and a strong focus on users are core
components of Hako’s DNA. The same applies to major topics of the
future – above all electromobility, which is becoming increasingly more important in the field of Municipal Technology as well.
Expectations among trade fair visitors were correspondingly high. By introducing the Citymaster ZE with all-electric drive, Hako
had the perfect response at the ready. Based on the new Citymaster 1650, Hako presented a functional study pointing the way

Shining addition: Robotic scrubber keeps Health and Sports
Center floors clean

Minuteman RoboScrub units are successfully running over 100 units working in a mix of grocery, retail, education, manufacturing and health care
markets throughout the USA. We are pleased to share with you the Minuteman RoboScrub article released from the University of
Nebraska for your inspiration.

KEARNEY – The University of Nebraska at Kearney is taking a page from “The Jetsons” to keep the Health and Sports Center squeaky-clean.
Like Rosie the robot, UNK introduced its own futuristic housekeeper last month.
On the job since Oct. 8, the Minuteman RoboScrub is tasked with cleaning hard-surface floors inside the Health and Sports Center, including
Cushing Coliseum and the Wellness Center. The autonomous machine follows preprogrammed routes to navigate the building, and it’s equipped
with several cameras and lidar, which measures distance using a laser, allowing it to recognize and avoid obstacles.
“If there’s an unexpected obstruction, it just figures out a way around it,” said Lee McQueen, director of UNK Facilities Management and
Planning. The battery-powered floor scrubber looks like a “normal” model, except it operates without a person in the driver’s seat. That’s a big
plus for the custodial crew responsible for UNK athletic facilities, including Cope Stadium and the Health and Sports Center.

“Time and resources are always limited,” said Mark Omtvedt, UNK’s

Using an iPad-like screen, staff can program the robotic scrubber to
use more or less water and cleaning product based on how dirty the
floors are. The machine will send a text message to a staff member’s
phone if it needs a refill or encounters a problem.
When it’s done cleaning, a text message is sent and the scrubber
returns to its starting location. Because it’s equipped with a squeegee
and vacuum, the scrubber doesn’t leave a wet floor behind, reducing
the risk for slips and falls.
Like any good employee, the RoboScrub also learns over time through
software upgrades, and data reports serve as a performance review.

“It’s not just us guessing,” Blocher said. “There are no rose-colored glasses with the data.”
UNK Facilities Management decided to deploy the robotic scrubber in the Health and Sports Center for a variety of reasons.
The venue hosts a number of high-visibility public events, from volleyball and basketball games to job fairs and commencement, and the wide
hallways yield the most square footage of hard-surface floors among campus buildings.
This high-traffic area requires continual attention from the custodial team, according to Omtvedt, who sees additional value in the pilot project as
a way to introduce students to new technology and inspire creativity.

Eventually, the new machine will clean all the hallways in the Health and
Sports Center, as well as the concourse and gym floors.
If it works well, and produces the expected cost savings, UNK Facilities
Management may consider adding automated floor scrubbers in other
buildings in the future.
The university took a similar approach this summer when it purchased
two robotic mowers for lawn care.
“I think that’s been a successful experiment,” McQueen said.
“It wouldn’t surprise me if we look at expanding that project.”
