Message from the Head of School
Angelica R. Fernandez de Castro
Dear Domuschola Community,
Happy Friday!
We ended today our first full week of the school year. It is so wonderful to greet happy and enthusiastic students every
morning. They are getting used to their routines and safety measures and protocols. As I do my rounds every day, I see
students engaged in their classes and active participants in the learning process. They seem to be settling well. This is a
great start to what promises to be a productive and successful year.
We had our first General Assembly and Flag ceremony last Monday at the 3rd floor foyer. It was refreshing not only to see
students from both Primary and Secondary Schools together again but also to hear them sing the Philippine National
Anthem. Our Domuschola school hymn was also sung. Hopefully, all the students will know our school hymn by heart soon.
This week is the second week of learning to learn week for the Primary School, where teachers assess the students' skills in
various areas. The results of the assessments will be used in designing engagements for the class or small groups. They also
had a successful student assembly facilitated by their coordinators. Teachers were introduced to them through a guessing
game.
In Secondary School, we had the culmination of Service Learning orientations. Mrs. Olvido, Head of Secondary School Life,
met with the students and asked what advocacies they would like to be engaged in and the means by which they can
promote it. The students are excited to start their service learning journey as they begin to plan their actions for the
benefit of others.
In order to promote departmental camaraderie and to ensure representation of thoughts and ideas from every grade level
in the department, the Student Council initiated this year's election of class representatives. Below are the SC officers and
class reps for this school year:

Grade 5A’s Wonder Day Projects
For the past few days, the Grade 5 students have been working on their
Wonder Day Projects ---- an activity that serves as a pre-assessment of
their research and communication skills. The students thought of their
big questions, researched their chosen topics, and made presentations.
The students actively shared their projects with their classmates by
giving feedback and asking questions to one another. Their presentations
were more meaningful because they applied the IB Learner Profile
Attributes. Through this activity, students had an opportunity to explore
and discover anything they are interested in or curious about.
We look forward to having fantastic inquirers and communicators in fifth
grade!
How about you? What are you wondering about? Let’s explore it now!

COLLAGE ESPAÑOL
¿Qué te viene a la mente cuando escuchas la
palabra ESPAÑOL?
What comes to your mind when you hear the word Spanish? Today the
students from DP 1 answered the question using a collage. They then
presented it to the class. It's amazing how they are all excited to learn the
Spanish language and get to know more the HIspanic culture.
