"City of Hope" for Immigrant Nurses

The American Dream isn't just
American. It's a coveted dream
shared by millions of people
around the world. But as
daunting as it can be to buy your
own home in America, the odds
are stacked even higher when
the dreamers are resting on
bedsprings in far off less
privileged countries.

Imagine Noralyn's world, just a few short years ago. Widowed in the Philippines with
three beautiful children and a deep desire for a better life for all of them. She dreamed
about living in the land of the free, America! Then she learned about the U.S. company,
ADEX Medical Staffing.
To make Noralyn's dream a reality, ADEX held her hand; helping her to navigate the
multitude of requirements including qualifications, visas, airfares, cultural assimilation,
language barriers and many other necessities to facilitate her desire to live and work in
the U.S.A. Offering her a temporary home in America plus emotional support while
providing her with the first two and a half years of employment, ADEX always insists on
no upfront costs. This suited Noralyn perfectly.
So plans were made, requirements were satisfied, and within a year Noralyn was in the
USA. Noralyn thrived, and so did her three beautiful children.
But that's not where this story ends. Noralyn was assigned by ADEX to work at Hemacare,
the global leader in customization of human-derived biological products and services for
biomedical research, drug discovery, process development, and cell and gene therapy.

This placement provided by
ADEX offered an unexpected
bonus. Close friends. Thanks to
ADEX, Noralyn came across many
hopeful women, just like herself.
All sharing the same dream. She
met three of her now closest
friends at Hemacare. They later
all moved to their current work
location at The City of Hope,
when their contract with ADEX
finished

One of Noralyn's new friends, Rhea, was an NICU nurse from the Philippines. When
Rhea arrived in America she had no family and says that since coming, "My new found
friends have become my family." Rhea is now the Protocol Specialist of Therapeutic
Apheresis in the Apheresis department at the City of Hope. After settling in to the U.S.
Rhea's oldest daughter also graduated from nurse training and is now working as a
Registered Nurse at the City of Hope. And one of Rhea's sons is becoming a nurse too.

Not only that, her husband Ben now works as a cook in the Dietary Department for the
City of Hope, in the kitchen department. Rhea had moved from Hemacare, after her
contract with ADEX finished, and encouraged her new friends to move along with her
too. Another good friend Eufriene, had initially attempted the emigration process
without ADEX. She worked for 4 years in North Dakota as an ICU nurse, but she had
difficulty obtaining her permanent visa and had to move back to the Philippines with
her 6 month old son. Eufriene says, "I was so lucky to find ADEX Medical Staffing in
Manila. They helped me to re-apply with ADEX as my petitioner."
Eufriene was successful with the help she received from ADEX. She finally got her
permanent visa and wound up working alongside Rhea and Noralyn at the City of Hope
Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Eufriene says, "I felt blessed that the transition was so smooth for me as a single mother,
because of the presence of my new helpful friends that I have met through ADEX. A
special thanks too, to ADEX nurse Manager 'Sir' Wayne Beemer. He was very supportive
to us. I remember that he drove me to the DMV office, so I could apply for my CA driver's
license and then also to Chase, to open my very first American bank account! "The ladies
also befriended Maita! Also here in the U.S.A thanks to ADEX! Maita came to the U.S.A. in
June of 2012 and after 6 months, ADEX helped her to bring over her husband and two
children. She says, "ADEX has been very supportive with us. I was a dialysis nurse in the
Philippines so I had the opportunity to pursue dialysis also in California. After my
contract with ADEX finished, I was hired by Davita Dialysis Acutes- Cedars Sinai in
Beverly Hills. I had more than two wonderful years with Cedars Sinai but we wanted to
relocate, since we had the opportunity to buy our humble abode close to our new friends
Rhea, Eufriene and Noralyn. We are now all working at the City Of Hope Medical Center
as part of the Therapeutic Apheresis Department. We are like one big happy family! Our
journey and nursing career here in the U.S. wouldn't be easy without each other and
ADEX."

The new close friends all decided to buy homes together! Not just in the same
neighborhood, but on the same block!

What a life! What a dream come true!

Now they all enjoy family parties together, coffee breaks and even travel together!
Such a beautiful story and one of the many reasons ADEX is so proud of all the
nurses they support here in the United States of America. Making dreams come
true, these happy ladies give a huge shout out to ADEX Medical Staffing who held
their hands through the daunting process of gaining all of the nurse and visa
qualifications required to work in the U.S.A. , while also providing immediate
shelter, transportation and a work contract that made their assimilation into the
U.S. such a great success!

Noralyn worked hard and is now a Training Development Specialist for Apheresis at
the City of Hope. With our most recent correspondence with her, she kindly states,
"ADEX opened the doors for us, we love what we are doing now. Thank you ADEX for
remembering your nurses!" And to this we say, "We proudly do!"

Green Cards For Registered Nurses

Still reeling from the pandemic,
which severely depleted the entire
US health care system causing an
unprecedented shortage of
Registered Nurses, American
hospitals are leaning heavily on
reliable Green Card sponsoring-
employers like ADEX, to bring in
highly qualified, talented nurses
from foreign countries.

For the first time, unused employment-based visas from the last 20 years will be given to
around 40,000 foreign health professionals so they can move to or stay (if they are here
with an F-1 visa or similar) in the USA. And remarkably, despite the large influx of highly
qualified nurses from overseas, no American health professionals have been displaced.

But working in a new country, even with a high level of skill, many new nurses find the
transition to a US hospital to be daunting, especially when faced with the latest high-tech
equipment. ADEX Medical Staffing, LLC created the perfect solution; a purpose-built,
highly technical simulation lab stocked with the latest equipment currently used in top-
level hospitals.

An ADEX spokesman said,
"We have created a simulated teaching hospital with classes that help the registered nurse
familiarize themselves with equipment and procedures as currently used in great US
hospitals. We even provide special certifications for procedural achievements!"

According to nurses attending the program, one of the highlights of the entire ADEX-U
experience, is the chance to stay at the lovely South Florida Corporate apartment
complex which comes as a complimentary part of the ADEX-U experience.

Welcoming talented foreign nurses and making them feel comfortable in the USA
hospital system is a win-win for everyone. ADEX is proud to be part of the solution so
desperately needed by the United States during this time.
And to all the Foreign Registered Nurses who come to help us here in the USA, we are
forever grateful.

Nepalese Registered Nurses
Celebrating Holi in the U.S.A.

Holi is a beloved Hindu festival celebrating
Spring. Famously celebrated in Nepal
featuring pots of colored powder, it is a two
day extravaganza filled with joy, dancing,
concerts, bonfires, tasty hemp-laced treats
and celebratory drinks.

The Holi festival is named "Fagu Purnima"
and it is always celebrated on a day of the
full moon. Fagu means "month" and
Purnima means "full moon".

The meaning of the colored powders and bonfires has its roots in the original myth
surrounding the celebration of Holi, involving an evil king and his equally evil daughter
who plot to burn their own good hearted son/brother to death, but thanks to the triumph
of good over evil, only the daughter dies in the flames.

Original Holi celebrations involve playing with ashes but these days, people use
powdered colors instead.

It is believed that Holi was originally celebrated to protect people from evil diseases that
occur during the changing of seasons. The colors used in Holi were made using extracts
of flowers and Herbs like Neem, Turmeric, Mehndi, Kumkum, etc. The natural herbs
have been traditionally used to work as Ayurvedic medicines.

ADEX proudly supports registered nurses from Nepal as they joyfully celebrate
and share the colorful and fun Holi festival in their new found neighborhoods
