It is important to come up with your
career planning as it gives you the
much-needed direction and makes it
clear there where you see yourself in
future. It makes you aware of your
strength and weaknesses and the skills
and knowledge that are required to
achieve your goals in future.
A large proportion of our life is spent in
achieving our career goals; thus, it is
very important to make sure that right
steps were taken and correct planning
was done in the early years of your life.
There are very few lucky ones who are
born with a clear mind and who knows
what they want to do and where they
see themselves in life ahead. But
majority of us are not sure what we
want from life and so it in very
important to plan out things. Thus,
career planning is what gives your
career and in some way your life, true
meaning and purpose.
Increasing investment in young people is the demand of the day.
This includes promoting quality education that prepares them for
future opportunities. A “diversity of training will be needed – from
quality primary and secondary schools to higher education.
KVS, as always, realize the value of youth power and have
pioneered this program “TARUNOTSAV”. This was for the students of
class X who had had just finished their exams and would not know
what to do with the time on their hands. KVS envisaged a series of
activities that would work on four basic requirements of every child.
1. Language Skills
2. Career Guidance and Counselling
3. Hobby/ Skill Development
4. Foundation of Class XI.
On this launch-pad, KV Jutogh Cantt Shimla set into
motion and presented activities that the students
enjoyed immensely.
Sh Vir Chand, Principal delivers a knowledgeable
lecture on the occasion. The students were told to
choose a stream which is best as per their aptitude. It
should be kept in mind that one will succeed only by
choosing a right career option otherwise they will
develop a sense of frustration. It is always better to go
with their passion rather than a forced career option.
The students were cleared their queries by asking
questions related to their career.
An ice breaker session was used to welcome and
warm up the conversation among participants in
class, a team building session. Any event that
requires people to comfortably interact with each
other and a facilitator is an opportunity to use an ice
breaker. This was specifically included not only to
break barriers within the groups but also to train
students to initiate a session when required.

तरुणोंत्सव भावी कक्षा ग्यारहवीीं के ववद्यार्थयि ों के लिए एक ऐसा कायकि ्रम रहा जिसने
इन ववद्यार्थयि ों को अवसर दिया स्वयंी से साक्षात्कर करने का , अपनी रुर्ियों अपनी
क्षमताओीं का और अपनी काबलियत को पहिानने का । यह कायकि ्रम रहा कौशिों के
ववकास का ,कै ररयर मार्िि शनि और परामशि सवे ाओंी से रु-ब-रु होने का, अपनी सिृ नशीिता
के ववकास का और अपनी योग्यताओीं के अनरु ुप ववषय ियन का ।
इस कायकि ्रम के िररए िहांी ववद्यार्थयि ों ने आत्म मलू याकीं न टैस्ट द्वारा अपनी रुर्ि के
अनरु ूप ववषय ियन के बारे में िानावह ीं उन्हें संपी ्रषे ण किा को ववकलसत और पररष्कृ त
होने और करने का, काव्य रिना करते हुए काव्य शब्िों का खेि है इसे िानने का, परस्पर
लमिकर कववता रि कर ववववध कौशिों का ववकास करने का अवसर लमिा ।
अब तक ववद्यार्थयि ों द्वारा िो पढा िा र्या था, सीखा र्या था सब पर क्षा,अकंी , ग्रेड से
िुडा था ये पहिा अवसर था िब के वि आनीिं प्राप्त करने , कु छ नया सीखने, मोलिकता
का ववकास करने और स्वयंी को नाटकीयता के माध्यम से अलभव्यक्त करने का उन्हंे अवसर
लमिा । साथ ह ववद्यार्थयि ों को अवसर लमिा कक्षा ग्यारहवींी के ववववध ववषयों के आधार
तथा ववववध क्षते ्रों के व्यवसायों को िानने और शैक्षणणक भ्रमण पर िाने का ।
ववद्यार्थयि ों और अध्यापकों के परस्पर लमि बैठ कर सीखने-सीखाने का और पढने-पढाने की
दिशा मंे समग्र रुप मंे यह कायकि ्रम एक सफि और सराहनीय प्रयास रहा । यह कायकि ्रम
भावी कक्षा ग्यारहवींी के ववद्यार्थयि ों के िीवन मंे एक मीि का पत्थर साबबत होर्ा ।

Session by Ms Promila Negi, Music Teacher
on INTRODUCTION TO CLASSICAL MUSIC
Ms.Promila Negi is a trained classical Kathak
Dancer. She explained Raga, Taala and Sruthi,the
instruments predominantly used in Kutcheries and
the 72 melakartha raga drawing parallels in Western
and film music. She gave sessions on kathak dance
and also together they learn to play various
instruments like harmonium, table etc. It was a
musically satisfying session.

TOPIC: SCOPE OF ECONOMICS
DURING THE PROGRAMME STUDENTS WERE GUIDED
ABOUT THE STREAM, MADE ACQUAINTED WITH
DIFFERENT SUBJECTS GUIDED ABOIT THE BASIC
CONCEPTS OF ECONOMICS, AND ALSO WHY THEY SHOULD
CHOOSE ECONOMICS AS A CAREER OPTION.

THE STUDENTS WERE GUIDED TO CHOOSE THE
SUBJECTS AND STREAM AS PER THEIR APTITUDE.THEY
HAVE DIFFERENT CAREER OPTIONS TO CHOOSE LIKE
MEDICAL AND NON-MEDICAL.THEY SHOULD SEE THEIR
CAPABILITIES THEN THEY CAN GO FOR A
STREAM.THEY SHOULD BE UNDER PRESSURE TO OPT
FOR ANY PARTICULAR STREAM.

TOPIC: SCOPE OF COMMERCE
A lecture was held during Tarunotsav which highlighted on
the Scope of COMMERCE. The session was taken by Mrs VANDANA
DALAL. It was an interactive session with the students to know
their idea about COMMERCE. They came up with interesting
views and facts about the development in FIELD OF COMMERCE.
Students were made aware of all the fields under COMMERCE
and how to proceed for higher studies for the same. The group
were fascinated about the recent researches taking place in
this growing field. The session ended with a task wherein they
were asked to think like aNd ENTERPRENEUR and suggest a
strategy for a flawless BUSINESS STRATEGIES.

TOPIC: COUNSELLING AND GUIDANCE
MS VANDANA DALAL TOOK SESSION ON CAREER GUDANCE AND
COUNSELLING BY USING VARIOUS ACTIVITIES LIKE BRAIN
STORMING, TAKE A MINUTE, ICE BRAKING AND OTHER TECHNIQUES
OF GUIDANCE.APART FROM THIS HAS TAKEN ACTIVITIES LIKE
BLINDFOLD CONVERSATION WHICH HELPD TEAM BUILDING IN A NEW
CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT.HERE STUDENTS HAVE TO INTRODUCE
THEMSELVES IN A FEW SENTENCES.ONCE IT IS DONE ,CLASS WOULD
BE DIVIDED INTO TWO TEAMS.A STUDENT FROM A TEAM IS CALLED
UP AND HIS EYES WOULD BE TIED.A STUDENT FROM THE OTHER
TEAM IS THEN CALLED AND ASKED TO SAY SOMETHING .THE
STUDENT WHO IS BLINDED HAS TO RECOGNISE VOICE OF THE
STUDENT AND HAS TO IDENTIFY THE STUDENT BY HIS/HER VOICE
.THIS HELPS THEM TO UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER

TOPIC: COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Tarunotsava meant for would be students of
class Xl, many activities were conducted.
Students exhibited their enthusiasm by showing
their presence in good number. Many activities
were conducted with involvement of students
which are as following:
Activity 1:
* Importance of Communication Skill: Class room
discussions were held apprising students about
need of the hour regarding significance of
Communication Skill in every field and its necessity
in improving and grooming one’s personality.
Students were also told as how to refine and polish
one’s communication skill.
Activity 2:
Students were asked to prepare short skit in
English based on Social issues for a duration of
7-10 minutes to check their speaking skill,
pronunciation, intonation and coordination in
team work.

COMPOSITION
Activity 4:
Class debate was conducted to encourage
students to express their opinion, perspective
towards any issue, current happening and
simultaneously ensuring their participation in
various competitions in and out of the school
by removing their stage fear and working on
the expression, voice modulation and
intonation etc.
Students were engaged in learning operating of
different equipment used in physics laboratory.

DURING THIS SESSION SCOPE IN THE FIELD OF MEDICAL
SCIENCES WERE DISCUSSED.THEY WERE ALSO TAKEN
INTO THE LAB AND ACQUAINTED WITH BASIC
TECHNIQUES OF STAINING AND ALSO TYPES OF
MICROSCOPES.PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF APPLIED
SCIENCE IN THE FIELDS OF AGRICULTURE,
HORTICULTURE, BIOTECHNOLOGY, MICROBIOLOGY,
PHARMACY, NURSING AND PHYSIOTHERAPY WERE
ALSO DISCUSSED.
