'Shibari'

Shibari is art! Shibari is craft! Shibari is erotic! Shibari is
meditation!

In Japanese, SHIBARI 縛り means ‘to bind or ‘to tie.’ It
is a reflection of trust and intimacy through the medium
of rope. Tying and being tied is a physical interaction
between two people where one is leading and the other is
following, but both moving together.

My work aims to translate this ancient Japanese artistic
form of rope bondage. I sincerely hope that this series of
artwork gives the viewer a new insight into the culture
surrounding Shibari.
