DRESS STANDARDS

1. On the course it is expected that members and their guests will wear
proper golfing attire, with shirts tucked into trousers, and caps worn
with peaks to the front. Only tailored shirts are permitted on the course
or in the Clubhouse. Short sports socks and trainer liners are allowed.
2. In the Clubhouse a good standard of smart-casual dress should be
worn. Smart denim is permitted. All clothing must be clean, not faded,
torn or soiled. Waterproof clothing and caps should be removed.
3. Modern casual shoes are permitted including smart trainers, sandals,
loafers and deck shoes. Flip flops at the discretion of the Captain.
4. The following are NOT PERMITTED on the Course or in the
Clubhouse: Tracksuits, shellsuits, T-shirts, running shoes, rugby/football
shirts/shorts, combat or camouflage trousers or shorts.
5. Members attending formal dinners or post match meals are
expected to wear jacket and tie – appropriate equivalent for Ladies.
6. Members are responsible for ensuring that their guests observe the
above standards. Any guest not suitably attired may be refused
permission to play.

INFORMATION

For most competitions throughout the year, entry will be available via
the app, online or touch screen in the bar 2 weeks prior to the event
and payment will be on the day of the competition. Please sign up so
cards can be prepared in advance
PLEASE NOTE: Certain event formats are not compatible with the
computer system so entry will be via a list in the Pro Shop or on notice
boards throughout the club.

SENIORS

Roll-up every Tuesday and Thursday 7.45am including competition and
match days.

LADIES

On Wednesdays ladies have priority on the 1st tee between 9.00am &
11.00am, and between 12.00pm & 2.00pm (allowing games starting on
the 10th to alternate.)

LOOKING FOR A GAME / PARTNER?

Add your name to the board in the Pro Shop and we will do our best
to arrange things for you.

CLUB BYE-LAWS

1. Cars enter the club premises entirely at the owner’s risk, as with all
personal property on Club premises.
2. It is strongly recommended that all golfers have adequate insurance
to cover all risks, including public liability. Information on Golf Plan
policy available from the Pro Shop.
3. Golf balls hit outside the boundary that may have caused damage
MUST be reported to the Pro Shop or a Club official.
4. Only the nominated Officers of the Club or their immediate family
may occupy the reserved parking spaces. This may be extended to
other Committee members with that person’s permission.
5. Only cars displaying the recognised disabled ID may park in the
disabled bays.
6. Mobile phones must be switched to silent at all times and only used
on the course in extreme emergency. The use of phones in the
Clubhouse is not permitted.
7. Smoking is forbidden by law within the Clubhouse premises but is
permitted in the marked area on the balcony.
8. Children must be under strict parental control at all times. Children
under 10 are not allowed onto the balcony unsupervised.
9. Children and Junior Members are not permitted to sit at the bar.
10. Members may not bring their own food into the Clubhouse except
by arrangements with the Manager.
11. Dogs are not normally permitted on Clubhouse premises or on the
course.

PRIORITIES & WEEKEND PLAY

Ladies may play alongside the men in weekend medal competitions.
There are certain exceptions such as Invitation Day or Club
Championships.
Off Peak Members may, at weekends, tee off at times specified by the
Committee.
5 Day Members may, at weekends, tee off at times specified by the
Committee, with payment of appropriate Green Fees.
All Team Matches (including Sunday afternoon mixed matches) must
start from the 1st Tee.

GENTLE REMINDERS

1. Keep an eye on the speed of your play, keeping up with the group
in front rather than just ahead of those behind. If the group behind you
are pushing you then it is far more enjoyable to let them through than
worry about them for the rest of your round.
2. Replace ALL divots on fairways and in the rough but use the seed
mixture provided on par 3 tees.
3. Repair your pitchmarks on the greens at all times. If everybody
repairs two, they will soon vanish.
4. Avoid parking trolleys in front of the greens so you have to go back.
Be prepared for your turn to putt. Never remove the ball from the hole
with your putter. Clear the green quickly and mark the card on the next
tee.
5. Always rake over bunkers using both hands in a backward and
forward motion to avoid building up sand in one part of the bunker.
6. Keep trolleys away from greens, tees and anywhere indicated by
white lines.
7. Treat others with the courtesy you would hope to receive yourself.
8. All Members / visitors report to Pro Shop.
9. ENJOY YOUR GOLF

WINTER GOLF

Kingsthorpe Golf Club has a winter wheel only policy. The enforcement
date of this policy varies depending on conditions, and members will
be advised through social media, emails and notices around the club
when it is no longer allowed to use electric trollies without the correct
winter wheels installed.
During the winter months every effort is made to keep the course open
in full, but it will, from time to time, be necessary to play off winter tees,
use winter greens or shorten some holes.
Course updates will be available through the clubhouse, course
signage, course information line, emails and social media throughout
the season.
