Vision Foundation, Inc was established and
founded in December 2016 by Dr.
Marie Barney Boston. The Marie Barney
Boston Scholarship Foundation, Inc is
an organization composed primarily of
volunteers, educators, and mentors.
whose mission is to enhance the quality
of education by providing financial
assistance to deserving high school
seniors and college students.
Reorganization took place after her
passing in August 2019, after which Dr.
Brenda Boston-Hudson became
CEO/Cofounder. We memorialize and
honor Dr. Marie Barney Boston for her
advocacy for education, the love for
her Community, and the City of
Jacksonville. In so doing, Dr. Marie
Boston `s legacy continues. It is “A
Legacy of Strength and Future of
Hope”.
The Foundation`s Mission is to help
enhance and promote the youth of
this generation to become passionate,
caring and concerned warriors who
are determined to effect change in
their present and future by having a
voice, choice and a right to develop
leadership skills that will foster a greater
appreciation for our society and the
world. MBBSF is a foundation that is
committed to working hard to get our
children/youth to go beyond
“ordinary” and work toward the
practice, teaching, and principles of
God to become “Extra Ordinary,” by
seizing upon and employing their God
given talents, strengths, skills and
abilities.
Mission MBBSF provides yearly Scholarships to
and high school seniors and college
Vision students in Jacksonville and
surrounding communities. The
Scholarships will provide an opportunity
to meet the financial requirements of

may not have had an opportunity to
do otherwise, without support of

The Scholarships will assist with books
and supplies, tuition, application fees,
and other costs associated with
furthering their education.

Dr. Diana L. Greene began her tenure as Superintendent of Duval Keynote
County Public Schools (DCPS), the 20th largest school district in Speaker
the nation, on July 1, 2018. She arrived to this role with extensive
classroom and leadership experience, beginning with her first
elementary teaching position at Mamie Agnes Jones in Baldwin,
Florida. Prior to becoming a superintendent in Duval County, Dr.
Greene served as Superintendent and Deputy Superintendent of
Instructional Services in Manatee County. During her 33-year
career as an educator, she has spent time as a teacher, assistant
principal, and principal as well as in curriculum development, staff
development and in senior executive leadership. Last summer, Dr.
Greene’s initial assessment of Duval County Public Schools
concluded with three major goals:
Improve academic achievement to become an “A” rated
school district
Improve safety and security, and
Bring financial solvency to the district.
After just one year of leadership, the district has made outstanding
progress on each goal. The 2019 school grades for Duval schools
reflect remarkable growth. The district scored a historic number of
points on Florida’s Accountability Scorecard and now sits just a
fraction of a percentage point from an “A” rated designation. On a
personal note, Dr. Greene is the daughter of a father who served in the
Air Force, and she grew up living in locations all over the United States
and abroad. She is married to James Greene, an independent financial
advisor, and retired Navy; they have two sons, Aldon and Joshua.
