#1 Internship: Administration

intern will be required to have their own transportation. Public transportation is available in the
nearby area. Business Administration/Administrative Assistant/Urban Planning majors preferred.

● Performs varied clerical tasks, including but not limited to answering phones, assisting at
the counter, filing, copying, scanning and faxing.

● Assist in the processing of correspondence and/or materials as assigned.
● Assist in the preparation of records, forms, applications and other documents.
● Compiles information requested for reports.
● Assist in preparing and reviewing agendas for various meetings.
● Assist with preparing correspondence and presentations for the Planning and Zoning

Boards.
● Compiles research for new and ongoing redevelopment projects.

#2 Internship: Finance

● Complies information requested for reports.
● Reviews data to ensure correct account and appropriation are cited.
● Other duties relevant to the department at the CFO’s request.

#3 Internship: Senior Affairs

Annabelle Shimkowitz Passaic Senior Citizen Center

The purpose of the Annabelle Shimkowitz Senior Center of Passaic is to allow older adults over
60 to access multiple services in one place, reaffirm the dignity and value of the older adults in
the community, cultivate essential relationships, offer year-rounds programs emphasizing health
and wellness, nutrition, social recreation, educational planned series, and worship sessions
ensuring an active quality of life.

Furthermore, it is of the utmost importance for the existence of such Centers to promote an
appropriate level of independence, yet to prevent isolation, loneliness and a lack of purpose.

● Have strong advocacy in working with older adults
● Possess strong listening and communication skills
● Provide administrative support to senior staff including appointment scheduling, data

entry, program support and other related duties.
● Register adults for programs and extracurricular activities.
● Assist with editing marketing materials and taking photos to use for marketing materials

● Help with various program set up and take down
● Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

Helping Achieve Responsible, Motivated, Optimistic, Neighborhood Youth – the Institute of
Music for Children is building a community of high-achieving citizens who are arts lovers and

Job Description

Overview

Future City Inc., a 501c3 non-profit corporation, was incorporated in the late fall of 1997 for the
purpose of providing a facilitating presence in the areas of sustainable environmental and
community development. The Board felt that bringing the African American and rapidly
growing immigrant communities into the planning and implementation process should be one of
the organization’s key priorities. Our Spaces & Places Project, Elizabeth River/Arthur Kill
Watershed Association, and our Healthy Neighborhood/Healthy Home projects are based upon

Intern Job Description:

The intern’s assigned project is to continue ongoing phases of infrastructural projects regarding
environmental community building and educational awareness.

∙ Tasks:

o Developing project-related materials in both English and Spanish

Expected Work Hours for Eight Weeks:
Intern is expected to work from 9:00am to 5:00pm. There will be some weekend meetings that

Job Description

The primary job responsibility of a legislative aide is to provide support services to the elected
official.

Main Responsibilities, Legislative Aide:

● Candidates must exercise considerable discretion and good judgment, as well as the
ability to interface and work with senior level government and business leaders and their
offices.

● The ideal candidate must be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and
related tasks and be able to work independently and confidently under pressure.

● Coordinate, organize, and proactively maintain calendars, including scheduling meetings
across multiple time zones, using a high level of tact and discretion.

● Focus on ensuring prioritization of objectives and key deliverables including handling
