reasons to celebrate Christmas

For the last couple of years we have made
a charity donation of £5,000 to The Salvation
Army instead of buying our customers gifts.
Today I had the privilege of meeting Captain
Carl and his wife from the Salvation Army,
we talked about how much a donation of
£5,000 means to them and who they are
trying to help.

In the new year we are going to go and see
some of the work they do and look at how
we could help them further, anyone who is
interested in supporting us in giving back
please let me know.

LEEDS CELEBRATES ITS 1 YEAR

Nick Patterson, Branch Manager said;
Our Leeds branch opened on the 7th December
2020 and has grown steadily since. There’s still “When I took this role on last November, getting ready

We’ve grown steadily through the year and the future
looks bright. The whole team in Leeds is really strong,
I work with great people, a growing list of loyal
customers and I’m really looking forward to 2022.”

A BIG thank
you to Jordan

As you may be aware its been a difficult couple
of weeks for IBT drivers getting to Castleford and
Ossett. I do feel for each of them, its not fun sitting in
traffic when you know you have to get the job done.
However I feel Jordan is by far the most relax driver.
He turns up when he turns up never moans about
time or if he is late, he simply says “it is what it is”
always with a smile. It can be stressful knowing the
vans are going to be late for everyone in branch, and
sometimes tensions can be running high. But when
we all smile and pull together it makes for a brighter
day.

MY STORY...

This is me….I thought because you’ve all put up Above Sir Thomas Bloodworth and below me….

a bit more about me. Like jokes ….

village called Blidworth in Nottingham some might

the great fire of London too. please get in touch.
See you soon
I cannot see any family resemblance, which is
probably a good thing because on the 2nd of Andrea Wyatt (HR Advisor)
September 1666 a year after the people of London
had survived the plague. The lord mayor of London,
Sir Thomas Bloodworth was woken up to be told
about the fire raging outside, he took one look and
replied “Pish, A woman might piss it out” and went
back to bed… Charming. The only fires I have started
have been metaphorically!!

As most of you know I started at SDL just over a
year ago to join Julie in her quest to bring in a fully
functioning HR team (refer to my face in this picture).

What a journey it has been so far from introducing
the Bodet clocking in system to collating and pulling
together all your personal files. I am sure from your
point of view I’ve been very nosey but there is always
a method in my madness from making sure we
don’t get fined for not having the right information
in place to designing easier more effective ways of
communication like this newsletter and much more
(Watch this space).

When I am not at work, you will probably find me at
a rock gig \,,/ \,,/ or up on the Northumbrian coast
walking our mad border collie. My favorite TV is
either Star Wars or Marvel related and love a real
ale so cannot wait for the beer festivals to make a
comeback. I will be out and about shortly so please
say hello if you see me, HR isn’t on the Dark Side we
are here for the good stuff too.
