Eastern fruits to the Asian market Project

Eastern provinces (Chanthaburi, Trat, Sa Kaeo,
Prachin Buri, Nakorn Nayok, Rayong, Chonburi
and Chachoengsao) are potential sources of tropical fruit
production such as Durian, Mangosteen, Rambutan,
Longkong , banana, pineapple, salak, jackfruit,
Mariam plum, etc., which are the main cash crop
of the eastern provinces. For, most of the fruits,
more than 90% are exported to China, Vietnam
and Hong Kong. Exports are done by fruit packing
house (Long) in Thailand which founded by Chinese
exporters that gather fruit from smaller fruit
packing house of Thai entrepreneurs.

The group of Eastern Office of Provincial Com-
mercial Affair has established public relations
activities and exhibits of tropical fruits at international
trade shows: "THAIFEX WORLD OF FOOD ASIA 2021" to
increase more opportunities for Thai entrepreneurs to
meet new partners and penetrate new foreign market.
For domestic activity, there are also campaigns for
agricultural products consumption (Safe agricultural
products/organic/fruit/GI products), to stimulate
domestic consumption. These are activities to solve
an oversupply issue in the domestic market.

Due to the spread of the coronavirus2019 (COVID-19), The group
of Eastern Office of Provincial Commercial Affair is unable to proceed
the aforementioned activities. Small entrepreneurs and farmers are
unable to sell products to outside region; therefore, it is necessary
to increase distribution channels through online marketing.

To achieve the objectives, goals and indicators of the project
previously determined, the committee has adjusted the activities
of the project to be training workshop to develop skills and increase
sales channels of products within the country and arranging online
business matching activities with foreign export market.

We have to pay attention on skills development and increasing
domestic distribution channels of entrepreneurs, farmers and
community enterprises from the origins to consumption destination.
It is also necessary to accelerate competitiveness, especially in
communication technology and digital marketing that are important
mechanism to improve the efficient up-to-date marketing. This will
give wider opportunity to the fruit market of the Eastern region
nationally, regionally and internationally. This also build up a reputation
of Thai fruit to be known and popular all over the world, making
the eastern region worthy for being Fruit Corridor of CLMVT and
ASEAN countries.

trade techniques and experiences which are useful for running our
business including expend marketing channels both domest and international

core business of the cooperative"

From the first step, now cooperative has 38 members, joint with
expectations to use the "cooperative" mechanism to drive our business.
The idea of the founders is to create agriculture career opportunities
and distribute diverse and sustainable produce channels. As the concept
that "Promoting Agricultural business of Trat"

In the first phase, the cooperative promotes fruit grading for
higher prices. General grade, which were not be sorted, have to be bought
at standardized prices. However, this standard price can help the farmer
to buy their product for all season this is one of marketing channels to
support the product of our members. With strong potential, the Cooperative
has promoted the production of quality fruit by providing agricultural
knowledge to farmer in various forms such as produce quality fruit /
reduce production costs /soil analysis/ use of fertilizer
(rambutan fertilizer project) / gain GAP standards / Safety fruit production.

Nowadays, cooperatives have improve various marketing channels
for wider market and product requirement. The cooperative is trying
to develop our packing such as banana leaf filling / ice filling. /Inserting
a sponge /washing and knocking down with ice to maintain quality
different from general merchants / plot management / creating understanding
for harvesting products, such as collecting produce to meet market
demand in Buddhist holy day, pre-holy day, National day.

At present, the cooperative collects the seasonal
fruit cultivated in this area such as rambutan, durian,
mangosteen, pineapple, etc. We receive daily orders
from our business partner, we will daily harvest for
only the required amount in order to keep product
freshness. These products are exported to international
destination markets such as Vietnam, Hanoi, Malaysia,
and domestic markets such as Talat Thai, Aiyara Market,
Udon Thani Market and Tops Supermarket. These markets
have been our business partner for longtime.

is Num Dok Mai mango, we are seriously select for
good quality mango, especially its sweetness must not
be less than 17°brix. That is our guarantee sale quality

in Japan, Num dok mai srithong and Num dok mai N.4

sweetness, and beautiful peel. The sweetness of our

“Num Dok mai Srithong mango is adapted form seed of
Nam dok mai Prapadeng Mango to cultivate a seed and then
planted until got its flower and fruit.

yellow peel until harvesting, this period make mango tree
very beautiful until harvest. The delicious ripe mango is very
scented and sweet small seed. The “fruit” is round, oval and
