Thank you for joining the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines
(IBPAP). We are proud to welcome you to the organization that represents the key
players in the IT-BPM industry, as well as establishments that provide valuable support
to the sector.
To help maximize your IBPAP experience, we have put together this Guidebook to get
you acquainted with the many benefits of membership and the valuable resources
available to you within the association. We look forward to your active participation

I. ABOUT IBPAP
The IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines (IBPAP) is the enabling association
for the information technology and business process management (IT-BPM) industry in the
Philippines. Founded in 2004, it serves as the one-stop information and advocacy gateway for
the industry.
With over 300 industry and support-industry members, and six partner associations, the
organization plays a pivotal role in sustaining the rapid growth of the IT-BPM industry by
working to ensure an enduring supply of high-quality labor, supporting service innovation, and
providing country visibility.
IBPAP also assists investors and locators in setting up operations easily and quickly in the
Philippines. This includes providing them with relevant research, introductions to key
government and industry officials, and a series of briefings for a smooth and seamless
investment process.
Ongoing support is then provided through a wide variety of initiatives, including programs for
HR development, business development, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities.
IBPAP works closely with the government, academe, and other key stakeholders to make this
possible and to reinforce the Philippine IT-BPM industry’s global competitiveness and
relevance.
Partner Associations
IBPAP has six partner associations:
Animation Council of the Philippines (ACPI)
The Animation Council of the Philippines, Inc. (ACPI) is a non-stock,
non-profit trade organization that develops the animation industry
and promotes the Philippines as a world-class provider of animation
content and services. Founded in 2000, ACPI is composed of
animation studios, schools and learning institutions offering courses
on animation, and animation industry vendors.
Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP)
The Contact Center Association of the Philippines (CCAP) is the
umbrella organization of the Philippine contact center industry. As
a non-profit organization, CCAP elevates awareness of the contact
center industry and promotes the active exchange of ideas, new
technologies, best practices, and innovations. It serves as the focal
point of sectors that enable the Philippines to sustain its leadership
in the global contact center industry. From its seven original

founders in 2001, CCAP is now composed of nearly a hundred member-companies operating in
various strategic locations in the Philippines.
Game Developers Association of the Philippines
The Game Developers Association of the
Philippines’ (GDAP) is a trade association of organizations
that create and publish interactive games and
entertainment content for various platforms. It was
established in 2007 to represent and promote the
country’s game development industry. GDAP’s vision is
to establish a sustainable and profitable game
development industry by uplifting, fostering, and
promoting GDAP’s members’ businesses.
Global Center In-House Council Philippines (GICC)
The Global Center In-House Council Philippines (GICC) is
the trade association of in-house centers operating within
the Philippines. GICC represents more than 75 members,
predominantly Fortune 500 companies. GICC helps set,
develop, and share best practices, serves as a forum for a
maturing industry, and collaborates to maintain, grow,
and validate the Philippines’ edge in high-value work in
the global business services sector.
Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP)
The Healthcare Information Management Association of
the Philippines (HIMAP) is a league of companies in the
healthcare information managements services (HIMS)
sector. HIMAP represents and promotes the Philippines’
HIMS sector to the global market, leading the
development and implementation of various capability-
building programs that translate to business growth.
HIMAP upholds best practices in people, processes and
technology related HIM services. The organization is at
the forefront of bringing together the leading and
promising HIMS players under one dynamic collective in a concerted effort to grow, develop and
sustain the Philippines’ HIMS sector.
Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA)
The Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) is the
premiere non-stock, non-profit organization of around 160
software & IT companies in the Philippines. Founded to
be the bridge between the software industry and the
government, PSIA partners with government institutions
to provide capability development services and training to
member and non-member entities in the industry. As the
representative body of the industry in the international arena, PSIA joins annual trade missions and
conferences in the United States of America (USA), Japan, Australia, and the Asia Pacific to meet
and bring clients to Philippine shores.

Election of Board of Trustees
Once in every two years, IBPAP members have the privilege of choosing the leaders to whom
they will entrust the governance of the association.
The IBPAP Board of Trustees are elected by members in good standing as of the election
period. Elections are held during an Annual Members’ Meeting which is scheduled in January/
February. For each member company, only one of the following is allowed to vote:

Only qualified industry members may vote for Trustees representing industry members while
qualified non-industry members may vote for Trustees representing non-industry members.
The total number of votes a member is entitled to cast is based on its membership tier (level).
Mark your calendars each election period—make sure to participate and exercise your right to
vote!
IV. IBPAP MEMBERSHIP
IBPAP Membership is composed of Industry and Non-Industry Members. Approximately 80% of
membership is composed of industry members and 20% of non-industry members and partners.
Industry membership dues are based on the FTE count of the organization while non-industry/
partner membership dues are selected by the organizations from a given tier.
As of June 2021, IBPAP has a total of 314 members, of which 256 are from industry and 58
from non-industry.

Membership in IBPAP is renewable annually. The membership renewal process is triggered
by a Renewal Confirmation notice that is sent by the IBPAP Membership Team to members 60
days before the expiration of their current membership. Billing for membership dues for the
new cycle is sent 30 days before the current membership expiry date.
V. IBPAP SERVICES, KEY INITIATIVES, MAIN EVENTS
REPRESENTATION ON LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY MATTERS
IBPAP works to advocate for legislation, regulation, and policies that promote an investment-
friendly business environment and support the growth of the IT-BPM industry. By establishing
relationships with the policy-making sector of the government, IBPAP is able to directly work
with government agencies and local government units so that concerns and issues affecting
the industry can be addressed. On key legislative and regulatory matters, IBPAP consults its
members to develop a collective position which is communicated/ submitted to stakeholders
in government for consideration. As a representative of its members and the IT-BPM industry,
IBPAP actively participates in policy-making exercises such as technical working groups,
consultations with legislators, and committee hearings held in both the Senate and the House
of Representatives.

INVESTOR RELATIONS
IBPAP has strong partnerships with the Department of Trade and Industry’s Board of
Investments and Foreign Trade Service Corps, ensuring that association is involved whenever
there are potential investors in the IT-BPM industry. IBPAP also engages with foreign trade
and investment missions and organizations that promote business with the Philippines. In
recent times, these missions/organizations have included the British Embassy, Select USA,
Israel Trade, Business Sweden, and Advantage Austria.
CONFERENCES and MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS
The International Innovation Summit and General Membership Meeting are the two main
events of IBPAP.
• International Innovation Summit (IIS): The IIS is the flagship event of IBPAP. Held
annually, the IIS provides industry stakeholders an avenue to gain insights from
global experts, network with business leaders, and collaborate with partners in
government and the academe. The Summit seeks to reinforce Philippines as top
investment destination for IT-BPM services in the world by demonstrating its value
proposition in talent, policy, and technology.
• General Membership Meeting (GMM): This is the quarterly assembly of IBPAP
members for industry updates and new member induction.
RESEARCH AND INDUSTRY OUTLOOK
IBPAP regularly provides information and updates on the IT-BPM industry. These include
industry growth forecasts and analyses, and studies and reports on trends and developments
that shape or impact the industry. The IBPAP Research team also serves requests for industry
data.
CAREER AND SKILLS BUILDING
IBPAP offers a range of programs aimed at enabling the industry to pivot to high-value services
by attracting highly skilled talent, developing a globally competitive workforce, and creating
an ecosystem that promotes life-long learning.

• IT BPM SKOOL (Skills and Knowledge Optimization through Online Learning)
provides access to free courses and certifications for digital upskilling and reskilling.
• LEADERSHIP SERIES features thought leadership and competency-building webinars
and workshops that aim to expand the capacity of aspiring and incumbent leaders.
• IT STARTS HERE is a career portal and information gateway featuring an overview
of the industry and its subsectors, career guides and skill maps, and industry news
and events.
• INDUSTRY/CAREER AWARENESS FAIR provides information to students, graduates,
jobseekers, and career shifters about the key benefits of becoming an IT-BPM
professional.
PUBLICATIONS
• BREAKTHROUGHS is the business journal of the IT-BPM Industry. Published semi-
annually, it is distributed to C-level members, government partners, affiliates, and
potential locators.
• (For 2021) “SHAPING THE NEW REALITY – How Philippine Organizations are
Responding to a New Business Environment” is a collaboration between IBPAP and
KPMG documenting how the movers and shakers of the IT-BPM industry put theories
into action, how they have navigated the changing landscape and found ways to
thrive during the health crisis.
KNOWLEDGE SHARING SESSIONS
• BEYOND BOUNDARIES are sessions that feature speakers from non-member
companies that are redefining technology.
• CEO FORUM: A once-a-year benefit offered to each Platinum Club member, these
are by-invitation-only events with an exclusive audience of C-level decision makers.
Topics center around latest developments in technology, human capital, or
legislation.
• Industry Briefings: These sessions are designed to improve or augment members’
knowledge and understanding of government issuances and policies that are
relevant to the industry. Briefings may take the form of a “forum” when other
topics related to the government issuance or policy and a sharing of best practices
by employer representatives are included in the program.

OPPORTUNITIES TO PROVIDE INPUTS/ FEEDBACK
IBPAP connects with members and stakeholders in government, non-government, and private
sectors to generate inputs, feedback, guidance, and even achieve resolution on issues
affecting the industry.
• Consultative Meetings are typically conducted to tackle “hot topics” or issues that
need immediate clarification or resolution or for which an industry position needs
to be articulated.
• Round Table Discussions (RTDs) and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) are smaller
group discussions intended to generate inputs on a particular topic of interest, vet
ideas, or deep dive into issues relevant to the industry or membership.
VI. MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS AND INCLUSIONS
IBPAP membership entitles members to a range of benefits:

• Access to Key Committees: Members may nominate their representatives to join
any of these working committees:
Legislative Committee (LegCom) which tackles discussions on key legislation
and policies relevant to the industry.

Labor Standards and Health Committee (LSHCom) which promotes
education, compliance, and best practices in the areas of employee health,
safety, wellness, and general labor standards.
Membership Committee (MemCom) which refers, provide insights on,
interviews and screens potential IBPAP members.
• Promotion of Member Events: Members may request IBPAP to promote their own
events that are free and beneficial/relevant to the membership. Members’ and
partners’ events are shared through an IBPAP Announcement at the beginning of
each week.
• Announcements and Advisories: Members automatically receive official IBPAP
communication on events, press releases, government issuances, industry news
and research.
Additional benefits are also available depending on the membership level or tier. Check out
Annex A for the summary of tiered membership packages.
VII. WAYS TO PARTICIPATE AND BE INVOLVED
There are various ways by which IBPAP members can participate and be involved:
• Attend Events: Take advantage of the different IBPAP events available to
members. Most of these events are free of charge so members can simply sign up
when events are announced!
• Join Committees: IBPAP Committees are avenues for members to advance their
organizations’ priority agenda and causes. Committee membership also provides
opportunities for member representatives to interact with colleagues in similar
roles and benefit from regular exchanges on best practices and common concerns.

• Participate in Consultative Meetings, RTDs, FGDs: Accept invitations to these
smaller group discussions to share your inputs, insights and raise concerns on key hot
topics and, thereby, contribute to the shaping of a collective position, vetting of
proposals, or establishing current practices.
• Volunteer to speak in IBPAP knowledge sharing sessions: Share your organization’s
expertise, best practices, thought leadership by volunteering for IBPAP’s knowledge
sharing sessions.
• Be a sponsor: Promote your brand in key events by signing up as a sponsor, event,
or knowledge partner. See Annex B for current sponsorship packages.
• Invite fellow members to your organization’s events: If your events are open at no
cost to fellow members, you may have them included in weekly IBPAP
announcements that are sent out to the rest of the membership.
VIII. STANDARD IBPAP COMMUNICATION and INFORMATION CHANNELS
IBPAP members receive these standard messages from the association:
• IBPAP Announcement: These are direct mailers sent out to:
1. invite members to IBPAP events,
2. share the latest IBPAP press releases, and
3. inform members of industry-wide initiatives, publications, and collaborations.
Events, News, and Other Updates: This is a weekly direct mailer under
IBPAP Announcement that helps promote free knowledge-sharing events,
publications, and research papers. It also includes industry news and
important IBPAP reminders.
• IBPAP Advisory: These are direct mailers to alert members about government
issuances, legislative updates, and other policy related news that are relevant to
the IT-BPM industry.
Never miss IBPAP standard mailers and customized messages by making sure that your
organization representatives are in IBPAP’s distribution list. Complete the company
representatives and POC section of the Membership Application Form (see Annex C) and update
it whenever there are changes in the key representatives in your organization.
