About MiWEPs

Malaysian Organisation for Development of Indian Women in Career, Entrepreneurs &
Professionals, MiWEPs was formed on 18th February 2016. Ever since its inception,
MiWEPs has embraced and uplifted not only Indian women but also of other races. The
activities we organize are solutions for pain points faced by the society. Hence, hundreds
of women of various categories have uplifted themselves in one way or another. It is truly
heartwarming to see traces of MiWEPs in various touch points. MiWEPs aspiration is to
continue being relevant by adopting new practices and keeping up to the volatile
environment.

President’s Message

A very warm greetings to all. It is indeed a great pleasure for being the 2nd President of
MiWEPs since its inception in 2016. I was part of MiWEPs since the day it was founded
together with Dr. Maria Rufina and I had the opportunity to hold various positions such as
Treasurer, Secretary General and Deputy President. My passion for MiWEPs and its vison and
mission has brought me to what I am today.

The year 2020 has been a very challenging year not only for us but to everyone globally. The
world is being shaken by the rising cases of Covid 19 daily. In fact, many countries are facing
the second wave and it is a fact that is affecting the lifestyle and businesses of everyone even
further. Nevertheless, we in MiWEPs have been putting up a lot of activities virtually to reach
out and be the voice for the needy ones. Whenever we had the opportunities, we also made
things happen physically.

As a caring organization we even waived the Membership renewals from the past years
(those who did not renew) and we also had a campaign for FREE membership from April
2020 till end of June 2020. This initiative was to help those who really had the financial
constraints as well as to get more women to reach out and get the needed help.

Despite the pandemic, we encouraged more women to take advantage of the virtual
trainings, social media participation by teaching them to do online videos about their
businesses and also how to create their online presence. Many had taken the opportunities
and transformed, pivoted their businesses too.

Finally, to all the members of MiWEPs, we would like you to take full advantage of the
opportunities being offered, while helping our fellow women out there, through your
subscription and renewal. It is my hope that each and every member of MiWEPs take the
possibility to uplift themselves through all our i-clubs. For those who have already made it,
now it’s the time to give back. Yes. We need your services to uplift others. Contribute your
services through being part of our committee or be a mentor to other women.

There is a quote by Winston Churchill, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a
life by what we give.” So let us all give what we can and live a fulfilled life.

Dear MiWEPs Members,
It gives me great pleasure to pen a few lines for your Annual General Meeting. In spite of the
Pandemic period and Lockdown, MiWEPs never hesitated or neglected to draw up plans and
implement activities for its members.
Our Trainers and Mentors organised several activities for you to advance in acquiring
Business Entrepreneur skills through Zoom and Virtual meetings, organised courses to
improve advertising skills by using computer, to be creative and innovative. We can see the
results in your advertisements in WhatsApp Group 1A & 1B. Generally, they are good, catchy
and attractive. Congratulations.
You are now ready to go to an advance level, “Digital Business Model Innovation” (DBMI),
using digital technologies to manage business operations, create and deliver values to
customers. Allow me to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and appreciation to our
Leaders and Committee Members who are committed to our cause to attract more women

Congratulations on MiWEPs’ 6th Annual General Meeting.
This is the first time I am penning a few words as an Advisor. It is indeed heartwarming to see
MiWEPs’ continuous efforts in empowering women. Throughout the year, great activities
have been conducted via zoom platform and that by itself would have inspired many women
to rise up to the challenges of the new norms.
MiWEPs being a leading women organization in Malaysia must continue to make impact and
increase presence and visibility among women of all nationalities. We need to be exemplary
in every way. We also need to activate mentorship to uplift women economically, in line with
our vision.
At this juncture, I would like to congratulate the reigning President Dr Nawarmani
Ramachandran and the Management Council for a good job done thus far. They are indeed
fueled with great passion to serve, but that alone will not be enough. The management
council will need the support and cooperation of everyone, especially members. This is a
moment that calls for solidarity and that requires each one of us to take responsibility and
play our part, however small it may be.
Finally I wish MiWEPs and all members great success in upcoming years. Continue to adhere

Setting Your New Year Resolutions
14th December 2020 – Zoom

This programme was organized by the Johor State
Chairperson, Ms. Rita Dhamodaran on the 14th December
2020 from 8.30pm – 9.30pm via zoom.

The impact of pandemic has imposed great uncertainty and
anxiety on everyone. Many are in a dilemma of not knowing
what to expect for 2021, hence this talk was very �mely
indeed. Every year we make resolu�ons but this session
focused on how to make resolu�ons using “5 Steps to
SUCCESS and Well Formed Condi�ons” in achieving our
goals.

Dr. Nawar Mani Ramachandran the President as well as a
Trainer in Neuro Linguis�c Programming shed some light on
this.

The session was very interac�ve with involvement
of 33 par�cipants over Zoom. Most of the
par�cipants were very happy with the talk as they
tes�fied saying that in the past they did not use this
strategy of making S.M.A.R.T Goals and also they
did not know the impact of visualizing, and feeling
the impact of having our goals achieved.

MiWEPs Johor state chairperson, Ms.Rita who
ini�ated this workshop in her closing speech,
expressed her sincere apprecia�on to Dr. Nawar
and to all those who a�ended the session with a big
thank you.
