Penned down by Edelweiss
The deep imprints of my
profound memories of my
beloved MGS are like the
footprints I leave on the shores
of my favourite Chempedak
Bay on every Saturday
morning. It was like a wisp of
mist that was cast out from
heaven’s gates which befind
me of my very thought of how it
was meant to be. MGSS, my
school took part in the
landscape competition
organized by Kuantan
Municipal City Council, was
announced as the winner.
Oh…. How it brought million smiles to
everyone and brought amber warmth to every
heart. It was the light that every teacher,
colleague, MGSS student needed to brighten
their darkened days brought about by the
dreaded pandemic Covid-19 that enveloped
the entire Kuantan, motherland Malaysia and
4 corners of the world.
I can still recollect vividly how my heart
pounded so wildly when the good news was
being announced by my Principal, Pn
Haniza Bt Hashim. I could remember that
so many teachers, students and Pn Haniza
invested so much of their time, energy and
effort to transform the once mundane
looking school to a super beauty pageant
potential.
On top of all the gloominess around us
( Covid-19 cases rising ); we marched on to
carry the torch of hope for MGSS. There
was even one incident that nearly broke the
camel’s back – a flashflood. It flooded the
entire ground floor and all the beautiful
paintings were tainted with silts and dirt.
Oh…..how our hearts sank !!!
But once again I say, it was meant to be that my
lovely MGSS motto : From Darkness to Light ; brought
light and a ray of hope in such a time like this. I pray
with all my heart that MGSS will continue to bring
many young people hope with properly equipped in
education, guidance and high standard of good
morality. Bringing hope to Malaysia and lots more to
look forward to in the future.
