The Traditional Problem

Traditional enterprise control systems use non deterministic control of mission critical systems like chillers,
boilers, cooling towers with deployment of DCS and PLCs isolated from the enterprise with focus specific to
a local process area.
Most systems are step change programs configured for logical operations with the inability to make changes
based on intelligent decisions for the process and equipment under load conditions, and with costs and asset
value in consideration.
Traditional control and HMI manufacturers and associated systems integrators focus on specific unit process
areas creating a void for communications and decision making of other units, enterprise areas including
legacy equipment, management visualizations with SCADA and HMI systems.
Manufacturers and integrators use proprietary configuration and operations tools making it impossible to
maintain systems without vendor involvement.
There is a lack of intelligent decision making for load variations, equipment and process fault diagnostics,
future process behaviors with an automated real time approach requiring knowledgeable operators,
maintenance, engineering personnel on staff to assist and usually late in predicting failures resulting in
unscheduled downtimes.
The costs for maintaining the process and equipment over the lifetime continue to rise, are unpredictable due
to unpredictable failures with assets depreciating instead of appreciating due to unmanageable behaviors.
When processes change due to increased or changes in production, most systems have to be again
commissioned with new control tuning resulting in poor accuracy with regards to load fluctuations and
disturbances.

The Traditional Problem

Our objective is to optimize the performance of existing production assets to maximize sustainability,
reliability, control and provide management performance indicators for sustainment.

 Prepare information for visual real-time SCADA with reports for effective dashboards using Key

RTP Summary

For its first twenty-seven years in business, RTP provided high-performance
data acquisition systems to the worldwide nuclear market and I/O front-end
subsystems for minicomputer driven data acquisition and control systems at
some of the world’s largest industrial companies.
These process control applications were typically characterized as being
located in harsh environments, yet with demanding requirements to provide
accurate analog measurements under extreme environmental and EMF/RFI
conditions.
With a solid foundation of field-proven, high-performance, and high-reliable
I/O hardware, RTP decided, in 1995, to expand its product offering, and added
control software and a control processor to its I/O front-end subsystems and
introduced its Hybrid Control System.
In 2002, the company entered the safety market with its SIS product offering.
The decision was not to develop just another safety system but to have a “Best
in class” systems.
The company continues its traditions today with innovative technology with
leading mission critical products and solutions meeting the industry
