Demo - The Gift The Festival

But most of all the three little children were overjoyed when the king and queen of Africa presented them with a shining, sparkling box they said contained a special gift for them and everyone throughout the world. The three little children giggled as they wondered what special gift could possibly be in the shining, sparkling box. But then, just as they started to open the box, a bright, blinding flash of light poured out, and the three little children suddenly woke up from their dream.

Leaping from their beds, the three little children were amazed that they all had dreamed the very same dream. They were disappointed that they had all awoken before seeing what was in the shining gift box that the African king and his beautiful queen had given to them.

As the three little children ate breakfast with their parents, they told them everything they could remember about their wonderful dream. The three little children excitedly told their parents how the king and queen of Africa had presented them with a sparkling box that they said contained a special gift for everyone. But they also told their parents how disappointed they were because they never really had a chance to see the special gift in the sparkling box.

The three little children were astounded when their parents told them how early that morning they heard a sound at the front door, and when they opened the door, they saw a shining, sparkling box. They had wondered who could have left such a beautiful sparkling box outside their door. But now they knew it must be the gift box the king and queen of Africa had given to their children in their wonderful dream. And so it was with lots of happiness and joy that the three little children and their parents opened the sparkling box to see the gift the king and queen of Africa had given to everyone.

As they opened the sparkling gift box, the thunderous, booming voice of the king of Africa was heard to say, “My queen and I present the African heritage flag as a gift for you and all the descendants of Africa throughout the world to display with pride.” The three little children and their parents were overjoyed as they looked at the African heritage flag for the very first time. They were so happy to see its streaming colors of green, gold, black, white, blue, and red, and its beautiful black stars.

Once again they reached deeper into the sparkling gift box and carefully removed a silk scroll. The scroll was tied with a golden ribbon and opened to reveal the very special meanings of the African heritage flag’s colorful stripes and black stars.

Everyone at the school’s Flag Day Festival happily exchanged and shared wonderful things about each other’s culture and national flags. Swedish, German, Arab, Polish, Irish, Italian, American, Greek, Turkish, Brazilian, Canadian, Mexican, African, Indian, Swedish, Asian, Polynesian, Israeli, Caribbean, Alaskan, and many other flags and banners were displayed at the school’s Flag Day Festival. Everyone sang special ethnic songs in their own wonderful languages and told stories and fables from their ancestral homelands. The school’s big Flag Day Festival was filled with wonderment and joy as everyone discovered things that united them all. And so it was that the school’s Flag Day Festival ended with the three little children and everyone waving their different flags along with the wonderful African heritage flag.

The African heritage flag represents the ancestral history, culture, and pride of African descendants throughout the world and proclaims their contributions to the collective ethnic mosaic of all humankind. Thanks to the king and queen of Africa, and the dream of three little children, for now and forevermore, no matter where people travel throughout the world, the African heritage flag will always symbolize the brotherhood of humankind and the hope for a greater tomorrow.
