INDEPENDENCE DAY @ VSGS By Pre-Primary Wing The pre - primary students celebrated 75th Independence Day in a majestic way on 12th August, 2022 in the glorious presence of Dr. V.C.Govindarajan, Principal. Grade I & II students presented a Patriotic dance and a song. KG students were dressed up like great patriotic leaders and gave a Fashion parade in an impressive way. INDEPENDENCE DAY Celebration @ VSGS 75th Independence Day was celebrated with pomp and zeal on 15th August, 2022. The National Flag was unfurled by the chief guest Former AIR MARSHAL Sri S.Sukumar PVSM, AVSM, VM, (Retd) AIR HQ (VB) and the special Guest Dr.Sadhana Sukumar (Defence). To witness Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Cultural programme was organized by the students of VSGS in a mesmerizing way. VIDYARAMBHAM Vidyarambham ceremony was performed for Pre-kg & KG-I on 16.06.2022 (opening day). Kids were made to write alphabets on sugar crystals by the parents in the presence of Sri Vikas Surana, Correspondent & Dr.V.C. Govindarajan, Principal. On the auspicious Vijayadasmi day (06.10.22) also, Vidyarambham ceremony was performed for Pre - kg kids in the same traditional way. Srshti, the Annual School Exhibition was held on 15th October, 2022. The Chief Guest, Dr.Srinivasa Raghavan, Principal, Bala Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary School, Chennai inaugurated the exhibition. The skill of VSGS students was in full view. An array of exhibits was displayed, specifically made by the students. All Students participated actively and their explanation mesmerized the visitors. Three students each from commerce, science and maths departments received the cash award of Rs.1000/- for their innovative models. YOGA EVENT - 2022 Yoga activities were performed by the students of classes 6 to 8 at “Bala Murugan Temple” - Irungundrapalli, on 16th June 2022 as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Various asanas were performed by our students. 4
11TH YEAR INFINITHEISM @ VSGS VSEI hosted 11th year Infinitheism celebration in a grand way. There were celebrations for 11 days. Global students planted 11 saplings as a part of Infinitheism. Collage and Poster Making competitions were held in the school campus. A fabulous program was held in Bhagwan Mahaveer Auditorium on the final day. The Correspondent, Sri Vikas Surana, VSEI, addressed the gathering with the values of Infinitheism. Our Students have distributed lunch to the students of Gnanodaya School near Singaperumal Koil as a part of weeklong celebrations of Infinitheism Day. GANESH CHATURTHI & JANMASTAMI Kindergarten of VSGS celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi and Janmastami celebration on 30.08.2022 in a majestic way. The Correspondent Sri Vikas Surana, VSEI, Principal, Dr.V.C. Govindarajan, and parents of pre-primary kids graced the occasion. The kids were dressed up like little Radha, Krishna and Ganesha. A Magnificent Drama on the “Birth of Lord Krishna” was performed by the kids. NAVARATHRI CELEBRATION The Primary students celebrated Navarathri celebration on 22.09.2022 in a majestic way. The celebration was graced by our respected Principal, Dr.V.C. Govindarajan, VSGS and parents of primary kids. The display of Golu was the highlight of the program. RASHTRIYA EKTA DIWAS National Unity Day was celebrated by VSGS on 31.10.2022 to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhai Patel. The Unity March was flagged off by Sri. Vikas Surana, Correspondent, VSEI. Students of Classes 3 to 5 marched around the Vidhya Sagar campus with placards and slogans on Unity. The rally finally reached the Bhagawan Ajeethnath Auditorium. The National Unity pledge was taken by the Correspondent, VSEI, Dr.V.C.Govindarajan, Principal, Teachers & Students. KG has performed many co-curricular activities as per the calendar. “Day Celebrations” were conducted enthusiastically. To make the students aware of different colour combinations “Blue day & Red day” were celebrated. Some games were conducted to increase their observatory skill. Yellow day & Green day were celebrated as a part of “Day Celebrations”, all kids were wearing Yellow and Green colour dresses. They brought some yellow and green colour objects to the classroom. A wonderful “Fancy Dress Competition” was conducted for little stars. The Children were dressed up fashionably to surprise the onlookers. 5
CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAM A cultural Exchange Program was taken place between VSGS & Witty International school (WIS) on 23rd September, 2022.The program commenced with lighting the lamp jointly by VSGS & WIS, followed by the prayer song. The two schools presented various programs depicting the tradition of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu. Bhajan Abhang, Lavani, Khol dance, Nashik Dhol etc, were some types of traditional dances in Maharashtra, presented by WIS students in a mesmerizing way. Tamil Nadu traditional dances like Mayilattam, Kavadiyattam, Poikkal kuthirai, karagattam were presented by VSGS Students. 15th SPORTS DAY VSGS celebrated 15th Sports Day on 3rd September, 2022 in the glorious presence of the Chief Guest Sri. G.Suguna Singh, IPS, SP, Chengalpattu District. The Presiding Guest was Dr.D.Sathiakumar, Director-School of Distance EducationTamil Nadu Physical Education & Sports University-Chennai. The Management Members Sri Vikas Surana, Correspondent, Sri Suresh Kankaria, Treasurer, VSEI and Dr.V.C.Govindarajan, Principal, VSGS, graced the occasion. The four houses gave a royal parade in the ground followed by the various sports events like Human Pyramid, Aerobic Drill, Mass Drill, Karate, Band, Yoga, obstacle Race, 100m relay race for both boys & girls, 400m relay race for both boys & girls etc. The parents’ events provided a feast to the eyes. All students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events and the school atmosphere was filled with the cheers of budding players. The overall Championship was bagged by Shanthi House. March past Trophy was bagged by Dharma House. All the winners were felicitated by the Chief Guest, Presiding Guest & Members of the Management. THANKS GIVING DAY Pre Primary kids have celebrated "Thanks giving Day" to those who help them in School such as Drivers, Conductors, Sisters, Gardeners etc as a part of weeklong celebrations of Infini Day 2022. GREEN RALLY @ VSGS CAMPUS All Pre-Primary students were dressed up like animals, birds, trees and water droplets and participated in Green Rally, which was flagged off by Sri Vikas Surana, Managing Trustee and Correspondent, VSEI. ABDUL KALAM AWARD It is a matter of fortune and good deeds which lead the people in a righteous path. VSGS teachers were honoured with “Abdul Kalam Award” for their contributions in the field of Education. JUNIOR SPORTS DAY Junior Sports Day was celebrated on 26.11.22 in the august presence of Dr.P.Mahendravel, Chairman, Perrys Biscuits. All the blooming buds paraded rhythmically in the ground. KG students performed mass drill, May Pole, Aerobics, Yogasanas, obstacle race and balancing race in an appreciable way. The Chief Guest applauded the kids for their mesmerizing performance. The Management members and the Principal graced the occasion. ALUMNI MEET Alumni Meet was held on 17.12.22 in Bhagwan Paraswanath Auditorium. The Alumni honoured the members of the Management Sri.Vikas Surana, Correspondent, Sri.Suresh Kankariya, Treasurer, VSEI and Dr.V.C.Govindarajan, Principal, VSGS. A grand welcome dance was presented by Mr.Mithun, Classical Dancer & World Record Holder. “Plantation of Saplings” was a part of the re-union day. The team interacted with teachers and conducted many fun games. It was indeed a moment of pride and happiness to the VSGS team to see the Alumni pursuing various courses in prestigious Institutes and Colleges like IIM, MMC, Saveetha Medical College, Engineering Colleges, Corporate Secretaryship etc. Many Alumni are professionals like Doctors, Engineers, Advocates, Singers, Enterpreneurs and Chartered Accountants etc. The event was stimulating and impressive, all enjoyed to the core. ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES To update the teachers with the changing syllabus and new methods in teaching, Orientation programmes were arranged for the teaching staff. 7
CCA Co-curricular Activities encourage the students to delve deeper into activities and subject areas that they are passionate about. Cocurricular Activities are being conducted throughout the academic year as per the calendar. Subject wise& Month wise many activities were conducted. Just a minute (JAM), Poetry Recitation, News Reading, Elocution, Thirukkural, Hindi Patriotic songs, Tables Recitation, Model Making with Match sicks, simple lab experiments, Fireless cooking, Slogan Writing, Science Quiz, Video on Sardar Vallabhai Patel etc were the veritable Co Curricular Activities conducted for our students. A week-long Delhi Tour was arranged for the enthusiastic students from 24th January, 2023 to 30th January, 2023. They visited the historical places in and around New Delhi. Also witnessed the “Beating the Retreat” by BSF jawans at Wagah Border. Students have shown intense interest in visiting “ Taj Mahal”, Golden temple & Jallianwala Bagh. KG students visited VGP Marine Kingdom on 17.10.2022 as a part of educational tour. They enjoyed to see different species of aquatic animals. A Field Trip was arranged for the classes 3 to 5 on 19-10-2022. Students visited “VGP Snow Kingdom”. Children enthusiastically collected information from the guides and played merrily with the snow. Middle School, High School & Senior Secondary Students visited VGP Universal Kingdom (Theme Park), Chennai on 19-10-22 and 26-11- 22 respectively. EDUCATIONAL TOUR 7 DAYS DELHI TRIP RHAPSODY Rhapsody’s methodology of “Education through Music” is highly effective in increasing the memory power of a child. It helps the child to develop music and rhythm beyond the school curriculum. It is introduced in our school from Pre kg to Grade V. Many Competitions have been conducted for students and parents as well. Students participated with a lot of enthusiasm. 8
KARUNA CLUB WORKSHOP An interactive workshop was held for all the teachers on 24.09.22. The members of Karuna Club spoke on ethical values like compassion, love, kindness, universal brotherhood etc. Sri Pattabhiraman, interacted with the teachers. The aim of Karuna Club is to awaken in children the inherent love and compassion towards all living beings. KARUNA INTERNATIONAL The School has been awarded with a trophy by Karuna International for instilling the Karuna values among the school students through various activities all-round the year. KARADI PATH Karadi Path English Workshop was attended by all the teachers of Pre-primary & Primary. It was a foundational English language programme upon comprehension and fluency in expression, especially for the primary children. PONGAL CELEBRATION Pongal Celebration was held on Wednesday,11th January, 2023 in the august presence of Sri P.S. Vijay Raghavan, Editor, Rajasthan Patrika, Chennai. Madam Chairperson Smt. Snehalatha Surana, Sri Vikas Surana, Correspondent, VSEI and Dr.V.C.Govindarajan, Principal, VSGS graced the occasion. The students of classes III to XII presented speech, poem, songs and traditional dances like, Puliyattam, Kavaidiattam, Mayilattam, Oiylattam, Silambattam, Karagattam, Adimurai & Kummi depicting the culture of Tamil Nadu. Jallikattu was also performed by the students as a part of Pongal celebration. Hitting the Uri was a highlight of the Program. Sweet Pongal was prepared and distributed to all the students. SCOUTS & GUIDES Our Scout Master Mr.P.Vijayakumar has received STATE AWARD from the Honourable Education Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. Anbil Magesh for his long service in Bharat Scouts and Guides on 74th Republic day function. Mr.Vijayakumar. P, received “Best Scout Master Award” From Mr.Raghul Nadh, IAS on 26.02.22, for his tireless service during the pandemic . Tritiya Sopan Camp was conducted by Prasan Vidya Mandir, 15 scout students of VSGS showed their excellence in the camp and were awarded with certificates. WORLD DIABETES DAY (WDD) VSGS Scouts and Guides served as volunteers in the World Diabetes Health Camp organized by “Sree Ranga Hospital” on account of World Diabetes Day. The scouts and scout master received the Appreciation Certificates by the District Collector. 9
CULTURAL FEST “PARAMPARA 2K22” GT Aloha Vidhya Mandir, Neelankarai organized 13th edition of Shri. Shanghvi kantil Doshi Annual Inter school Cultural fest "Parampara" 2K22 on 5th & 6th August, 2K22 at their school premises. 23 schools participated. Our students: 1. S.Shree Varshini, IV, won 2nd position in the "CENTRE STAGE" 2. K.Kavindra, XI, secured 2nd position in "SHARK TANK". PDL Activities Grade VI Students have raised awareness about the importance of face masks by painting some safeguard methods and corona virus images in the surgical masks .Some slogans were also mentioned on the face mask. Grade VII Students have prepared their own Comprehension as a part of group activity and framed their own questions and answers with the help of team members. Grade VIII Students have prepared some colourful Greeting Cards for their parents and wished them on their anniversary. Fireless Cooking It was held on 24.11.2022 for the Middle School Wing. Through this activity Students showcased their artistic ability and team spirit by preparing various dishes with paramount concentration and attention. National Mathematics Day The Mathematics department celebrated "National Mathematics Day" on 22.12.2022 to mark the birth anniversary of great Mathematician "Srinivasan Ramanujan". The celebration consisted of Maths song, Poster Making, Maths Quiz and power point presentation on the life history of Srinivasan Ramanujan. Diwali Celebration Pre Primary and primary students celebrated Diwali on 21.10.22 in a wonderful way. The kids showcased the spirit of Diwali through various cultural programs. Memory Game Some memory games were conducted for the Pre Primary kids to enhance their observatory skill. The kids enjoyed it to the core. Model United Nation It was a proud moment to all, when 13 students of VSGS have participated in the Model United Nations (MUN) competition hosted by Vidya Mandir Estancia on 20th and 21st of October 2022. The students were awarded with a Special memento& High Commendation memento, Honourable mention certificates and Participation certificates. Teachers’ Day The School celebrated Teachers’ day with great fun and enthusiasm. A special assembly was conducted by the students and the assembly began with stating the importance of ‘teacher’ in our lives, followed by the thought and talk highlighting the contribution of teachers in a Graduation Day VSGS hosted the “Graduation Day Ceremony” for Grade 12 on 3rd February 2023 at, Bhagwan Paraswanath Auditorium in the presence of the Chief Guest Sri.P.G.Subramanian, Principal, Bhavan’s Rajaji, Vidyashram, Chennai. It was a proud moment to the Teachers and Parents who witnessed 70 students being awarded with the Graduation Certificates and Mementos. Out of them, 23 students who made a long journey from KG I to XII were specially felicitated on this memorable occasion. The Chief Guest addressed the students with the values of life and blessed them to pass the Board Exams with flying colours. The Graduation Day pledge was taken up by the students. student’s life.
