Association Of Assistant Medical Officer Sibu Hospital (AMOSH) Background History AMOSH Sibu Hospital was established in 2016. It was formerly known as “Jawatankuasa Latihan Penolong Pegawai Perubatan Hospital Sibu”. The main objective of AMOSH is to unite all Sibu Hospital Assistant Medical Officers in different units and disciplines by organising activities such as courses, workshops, trainings and recreational like sports and social team building programmes and also community services in longhouses and villages. AMOSH Sibu Hospital emphasis on skills, knowledges, self-development and latest continuous medical and health education to all AMO’s in Sibu Hospital in order to empower the profession towards a better service. Since its establishment, AMOSH has organised various courses and trainings in medical and surgical disciplines by Sibu Hospital’s experienced Physicians and Surgeons. In the year 2023, AMOSH has been divided into two branches which is Training and Development Committee and Social, Sports and Recreational Committee. On 8th January 2024, AMOSH has been successfully approved as a registered organisation by R.O.S. (Registrar of Societies Malaysia) and r e g i s t e r e d i t s n a m e a s A S S O C I AT I O N A M O S H ( R e g N o : PPM-020-13-08012024). AMOSH will continue to serve its purpose and objectives for all Assistant Medical Officer in Sibu Hospital.
Objective Symposium Target Audience This symposium is designed for advanced health practice providers including Medical Officers, Assistant Medical Officers (AMO), Nurses as well as Allied Health. In addition, AMO educators and Nurse educators may benefit from this programme. The Objectives of The Symposium are as follows: 1.Describe a systematic approach assessments and management of the acute emergency patients. 2.Develop complete resuscitation strategies based on evidence-based guidelines and experts opinion. 3.Select appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms for specific emergency presentations. 4.Evaluate the evidence supporting diagnostic algorithms and clinical pathways.
