MARKET RESEARCH PLAN

 “The systematic design, collection, analysis, and reporting of data relevant to
a specific marketing situation facing an organization” called Marketing
research.

 Additional Mode of research:

1. Exploratory research, pertaining to research that investigates an
assumption.

2. Descriptive research, which, as the term suggests, describes "what
is".

3. Predictive research, meaning research conducted to predict a future
occurrence.

4. Conclusive research, for the purpose of deriving a conclusion via a
research process.

5. Casual research – research done to identify ad understand cause-and-
effect relationships through experiment. Experiments are typical in
casual research. (Experiments – manipulate variables in a controlled
setting to determine their relationship to one another)

 There are two types of data for Market Research:

 Secondary Data:

It is Information that already been collected somewhere for a purpose other
than current research purpose. In other words, it has collected by someone
other than the user.

 Primary Data:

Information collected for the specific purpose at hand by researcher. Primary
data has been collected after gathering the secondary data having some
insight in it.

 Research Approaches:

Research approaches for gathering primary data includes observations,
surveys, and experiments.

o Observations: we have observed that most of people use
plastic Tiffin rather than steel Tiffin sets which are easy
to carry, wash, keep in microwave etc.

o Surveys: we have made questionnaire for getting
information from plastic Tiffin users.

 Contact Methods:

Information can be collected by four different methods:

o Personal: We have got information by asking people for
plastic Tiffin personally

o Online: With online tools we got prices of the Tiffins. Ex;
Amazon, Naaptol, Homeshop18, flipkart etc.

 Sampling Plan:
A segment of the population selected for marketing research to
represent the population as a whole.
o Sample Unit: In a sample survey, the sampling units are units
into which the population to be sampled is divided. The
population must be capable of division into what are called
Sample Unit.
o Sample Size: Number of sample unit to be included in the
sample.
Ex: 400 users of the Tiffin sets, 40 retailers of the Tiffin sets

 Research Instruments:
In collecting primary data marketing researchers have a choice of two
main research instrument the Questionnaires, Qualitative,
Technological Devices.
o Questionnaires: The questionnaire is by far the most common
instrument, whether administered in person, by phone or online.
o Technological Devices: Technological Devices include phone,
laptop, Tablet etc to gather more and more information about
the market. Those devices can store all the gathered data for
long time. Which can be used more than once.

CONCLUSION

 At the end, we may come to the conclusion that, the project of marketing
research has been proved effective to us. The main objective of the
project that is to know the practicality of the marketing mix elements and
its strategies is satisfied.

 We have learnt the marketing concepts and basic research methods along
with the introduction to the product, competitive scenario in this industry,
product levels, product classification, product quality and its features,
product hierarchy, product line decisions, pricing, promotion mix
elements and at last the market research plan.

 In short, all the theoretical aspects have been understood nicely by this
project.
