GENTING POKER SERIES UPDATE

The final Bank Holiday in May saw the

Club Stoke, with a new format. This
included a Mini Event with a £220 entry

Main Event seats, worth £440 each, for
every player on the final table.

After a quiet start, we had a manic day on Day One with numbers equalling the
previous two days’ totals at 111 entries. With 48 players returning for Day Two,
we witnessed an early flourish of player exits until we reached the ‘bubble’ and the
unfortunate player who departed
in 23rd place without prize money. After 10 ½ hours
play we eventually crowned our winner Endrit Geci who won a Genting
Poker Series Main Event seat, the trophy and a cheque for £11,540.

The event at Stoke was a massive success with a prize fund of over
£44,000 and some good cash game action. We received some really
positive feedback from players about the service levels, friendly
banter and the great dealers. Simon, the Cardroom Supervisor, had
only been with Genting for six weeks but did a superb job. I would like
to express my thanks to Nicky and her team for a great event and
being great hosts.

Since the last issue of Straight Talking, we have also been to other Endrit Geci celebrates his win at Stoke

by the team at Glasgow, who hosted their first ever Mini Event and
smashed the £35,000 guarantee with a £50,000 prize fund.

We also stopped at Reading and, whilst the numbers were down from
last year, we did see an increased revenue in the club during our visit. So to Rob and the Glasgow team and Lukasz and the Reading

SLOTS REVOLUTION

It has been over 12 years since the last big change in slots with
the arrival of digital machines. The next big revolution is now
upon us with the arrival of ‘connected’ slots.

These machines are connected in real-time to the
manufacturers’ systems, bringing a whole host of benefits.
The main ones being the ability to download new games to
each cabinet as soon as the game is released, and the wealth
of data we can gain from real-time reporting.

The system we are using is from Novomatic and is called
Server Supported Gaming. The Dominator cabinets are

compatible and we can connect this to the system to access
the huge game library which is available. In future, Dominators
will offer up to 40 gameS, including new games such as Oliver’s
Bar, Fairy’s Wild, Hit the Road and Alexander the Great.

Our first trial at Genting Club Stoke went live in March and
subsequently five more sites have gone live during May. If
successful, we will look to add more casinos.

Steve commented: “Renshaw Street has a very high proportion of Chinese customers and

Student Tom Dainty said: “We wanted to come up with a memorable

while giving people the chance to celebrate in stylish surroundings.

“Genting Club Southampton was an ideal venue, and thanks to the support and
creativity of the team, we managed to attract over 140 people to the event, raising
more than £1,000 for this worthwhile cause.”

They met up for drinks in a couple of bars on Oxford Street, before
settling for a couple of hours at Genting Club Southampton.
Dominic had never been to a casino before and was feeling flush, so
bought a bottle of champagne and the rest, as they say, is history.

Before the couple got married, Dominic approached the club to
arrange a surprise for Rebecca by re-creating their first date. The
team made it an extra special celebration, seating the bride and

them with a complimentary bottle of champagne.
