departure times, athlete registration, meeting times, team practice schedule, housing,

TEAM REGISTRATION & MEETING

Athletes will be required to register themselves individually at the USA Field Hockey Tent prior to their first
practice. Athletes will need to bring their Rain/Emergency Delay Form and Raffle Drawing Stubs/Money .
Team uniforms will be distributed by the head coach after registration.

When packing for the Nexus Championship, don’t forget to throw the following items into your suitcase. Note:

2021 SELECTION OPPORTUNITIES

Through your participation at the Nexus Championship, you will have the opportunity for selection to advance
within USA Field Hockey’s Olympic Development Pathway.. The following selection opportunities are available
directly from the Nexus Championship:

Nexus Stars & Stripes Elite Game Approx. 72 U-16 Athletes, 36 U-19 athletes & 36 U-14 athletes

AAU Junior Olympic Games (U-16 only) Approx. 114 athletes

IMPORTANT: Selections for the AAU Junior Olympic Games will be posted by Friday, July 16, 2021. For the AAU
Junior Olympic Games, athletes must accept their online invitation by Monday, July 19, 2021.

STARS & STRIPES ELITE GAMES

The Stars and Stripes Elite Game will be held at the conclusion of each age division’s competition. Please refer
to the 2021 Nexus Championship schedule for specific times. It will consist of the top 72 athletes in the U-16
division and top 36 athletes in the U-14 and U19 division.

Athletes will have the opportunity to showcase their talents in the Stars and Stripes Elite Game(s). Selections for
the Stars and Stripes Elite Game(s) will be posted at the venue on the last morning of the tournament.

AAU JUNIOR OLYMPIC GAMES

August 2 - 5, 2021 | Houston Sports Park | Houston, TX

The Amateur Athletic Union’s premier multi-sport event, the AAU Junior
Olympic Games, brings together more than 14,000 athletes to compete in 20
sports. In the sport of field hockey, USA Field Hockey selects approximately
114 athletes to participate in the annual event. The event provides U-14 and
U-16 athletes with the opportunity to experience an Olympic-like multi-sport
competition on a College water-based turf, while enjoying the camaraderie
and inspiration from top athletes in other featured sports. Invited athletes
are responsible for all of their expenses, including the AAU tournament fee,
travel, housing and food.

Selections for the AAU Junior Olympic Games will be posted online by
Friday, July 16, 2021. Junior Olympic Athletes have until Monday, July
19, 2021 to register online in their USA Field Hockey Membership Account.

Estimated Cost for AAU Junior Olympic Games: $275.00 plus room and board, travel, food and AAU fees.
