Bhabinder Kumar

Head of Retail:

2017 vision for IPG was a year of consolidation to ensure
we built a strong foundation for our future growth. Our aim
was to relocate to new larger offices, train our current staff,
employ enough staff to offer a market leading customer
service and importantly to ensure our business was
compliant.
April was a momentous month as we moved into our new
office which was opened by the Mayor of Dudley. We have
welcomed 9 new recruits joining us, existing staff have
progressed into new roles, our business has become more
compliant and our staff are continuously receiving training,
all of which is in line with our strategy.
Our financial results have seen income growth on 2016,
we achieved an increase of 8% in Q1 and 5% increase in
Q2 ending the first half year on a 6% increase and most
importantly achieving a profit.
In any business growth is very important however it also
needs to be measured in more ways than just financial
growth. I feel IPG has really matured this year, moving into
our new office has given us a real sense of responsibility,
ambition and a strong belief that we can become a well-
known, respectable and successful insurance broker.
I am very proud of how all our new starters have settled in
and how quickly they have integrated into the IPG family
and not forgetting how impressively all our existing staff
have coped with the office move and the growing pains
which all business experience on their way to the top.
We move into the second half of the year with our focus
towards a new back office system, new website and
digitally generating our own leads and who knows we may
even recruit more staff to join our already successful team.
I would like to finish by thanking each and everyone for all
your hard work and commitment which is noticed each and
every day.
Keep smiling, keep enjoying and let’s keep growing
our business!

David Donohoe

Department Manager:

Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I see what we’ve achieved over the last 6 months. We’ve
completely rebuilt our renewals team with excellent professionals all geared up for increasing our
retention from 75% to 80%. We’ve seen our crop of 5 apprentices go from strength to strength
with 3 of them graduating in the last couple of months. All of them have added real value to the
company. Training both on the job and formal has always been key to staff progression and over

the last 6 months including amongst
others training on sales techniques, DATA
tag, breakdown. In total we have provided
staff over 700 hours’ worth of training in
the last 6 months.
Over the past 6 months we’ve
implemented, coached and trained our
staff on a whole new compliance regime
from scripting to processes. We have
asked them to take on board lots of
changes and with every change the team
have taken this on board and adapted
to the new way of working to make
our business safer, compliant and with
‘quality’ running through its veins. This
quality now shows itself with a 74% pass
rate in the most recent compliance audit.
The majority of staff are now hitting a
90% plus pass rate for their file and
call audits.
It also never ceases to amaze me how
with all workloads we expect of our
staff how they still have time to think about their fellow workers – Taking time to write nice
things about colleagues in the Employee of the Month nominations. On top of this we’ve also
had time to support some charities like the woman’s refuge with Easter egg collections and
an unforgettable superhero themed costume day which will go done in history!! Our wonderful
Charity team organise these events but everyone joins in which warms my heart!
In addition to their charity events the ‘IPG FAMILY’ has also enjoyed some wonderful nights out
thanks to our Social committee – These have been fantastic events which have been a superb
vehicle for team building.
Overall I’m at a loss to know where the last 6 months have gone but I do know that I work with
an incredible bunch of people who have a great team spirit and make it a joy to come to work.

Easter Egg Charity

Charity has been a big focus for
IPG this year as they formed their
own committee and decided to
represent multiple charities within
the community and close to staff
members hearts. The first event
saw Easter Eggs being donated
by staff and then being donated
to the children and women at a
local refuge. In total 44 eggs were
donated, with Charlotte Brown
winning the in house raffle for a
giant Thornton’s Easter Egg.

Free Radio I Cash4Kids I Superhero Day

May saw all IPG staff donning their best lycra and capes and taking part in
raising funds for Free Radios ‘Cash for Kids’ campaign.
This event even saw local Radio Royalty attending in the form of Jo & Sparky from the
Free Radio Breakfast show. Staff members raised money by paying £1 each to dress
up in their favourite superhero gear which saw Bhabs donning the black and yellow of
Batman and Dave the green dunagrees of ‘Super Mario’.

Monday 10th April 2017. IPG

conducted by the Mayor of Dudley
and saw IPG receiving credit in

own Bhabinder Kumar donning
the spotlight.
