IT WAS SO GOOD TO SEE EVERYONE AT THE PURINA EVENT
CENTER IN PERSON AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF OF CANCELLED,
POSTPONED, AND DELAYED EVENTS!

An agility course is a series of obstacles that must

variations on a theme. Some of the obstacles that can be
used are jumps (bar jumps, panel jumps and tire jumps),

rules, but in general the dog must touch the contact

Like most dog sports, agility has several levels of com-
petition. The Novice level is fairly attainable, if you take

Master Agility Champion (MACH), it requires more dedi-

tice. You have to work with a trainer that understands
what is needed at the higher levels, from both the dog
and the handler. This is the same for most of the sports
we play with our dogs—achieving success at the higher
levels requires dedication, time and help from others.
The saying “It takes a village” applies here, without a
doubt. The really skilled teams make agility look easy;
like a sport that anybody can play. But the truth is that it
requires training for both the handler and the dog.
