Dear All,
So far this year I have been visiting Resources staff to distribute their
Director’s Commendations in recognition of how they have been doing
great work, putting customers first and demonstrating the core values of
the Council – Fairness, Respect, Equality and Excellence. Teams and
individuals were nominated by colleagues and the nominations considered
by the Resources Department Management Team.
It has been a delight for me to see so many people considered to be doing
a great job by those with whom they work and I have really enjoyed the
opportunity to see them in person and say thank-you for what they have
been doing. I decided that it would be great if I could share these
achievements with the entire directorate so I created this keep-sake e-
commendation book.
The 4-monthly new (and not so new) starters’ lunch is another initiative
going on in Resources and for good measure the book contains a photo of
this too. These have been really good sessions and given staff an
opportunity to give me feedback on working for Brent. The most commonly
cited positive trait about working here has been how friendly and helpful
people find colleagues which is another example of living our values!
Do remember that the Pride of Brent nominations can be made all year
round so if you feel there are some exceptional people in the department
who deserve to be recognised for the great job they’re doing, please check
out the process on the intranet and put them forward so they have the
chance of featuring in our next commendation book.
