Guidelines For Speedy Post-
Fracture Recovery
Follow your doctor’s advice
A fracture is not something as critical to fret about but improper care
during the first six weeks can slow down the recovery pace. A fracture
typically stays for about 6-8 weeks depending upon your age, general
health, and type of injury.
Once the plaster is taken out, undergo an X-ray test once again and if
your doctor feels that you need another week for recovery, follow his
suggestions.
If you are still having itchiness, pain, swelling, or redness at the
fracture site then you should consult your doctor soon.
What to do when the plaster is
removed?
Once the plaster is finally removed, you still need to tend to the fracture
site. You need to follow the given below guidelines for at least 2 to 4
weeks:
Gently apply the medical plaster tape at the affected site everyday for
next two weeks.
Massage the affected site with a medicinal oil or ointment
recommended by your doctor. Make sure to use nitrile gloves while
application, it reduces the chances of getting any sort of infection.
What to do when the plaster is
removed?
Go to a physiotherapist for at least a month and do all the exercises
regularly recommend by them for at least a month.
Use painkiller if there is a lot of pain and consult your physician.
