To the readers, This story is about, Felipe an honest boy who always tell the truth. One day, his honesty was put on a test. With the help of their parish priest who guided him, he had overcome his difficulty and did what was right to do. This story, shows the importance of honesty and how to gain friends. Moral Lesson Learn to be honest all the time and be friendly.

Felipe is a very honest kid. He always tells the truth about anything and his friends and other people in the neighborhood loved him because of this beautiful trait. His parents is so proud of him because of his honesty. 62

His teachers, classmates and other pupils in the school are so nice to him and are happy to be with him whenever he is around. “Come Felipe, let’s play!”, invites Jose. “Hurry up Felipe join us!”, shouted his playmates. Felipe joined his classmates and play hide and seek. They are all happy and very much enjoying, laughing together on their way home from school. 8

Every Sunday, Felipe together with his father and mother go to church to attend mass. After the mass, they always find time to talk with Fr. Robert, their parish priest. 10


11 T hey would always hear from Fr. Robert his favorite advice,” Good and bad things happen all the time, but no matter what, be honest and true to yourself. “Yes Father”, replied Felipe.

One rainy morning, while Felipe was heading towards to school, he saw Carl playing in the rain. “Felipe!” Carl shouted. “Don’t tell our teacher that you saw me, okay? Or else I will beat you.” 13


Felipe was so scared of Carl, a bully classmate in their school. He thought of telling about the incident to his teacher but because he is afraid that Carl would beat him if he tells about him, Felipe decided to keep quiet and did not tell his teacher what he saw. He did not know what to do and felt so confused. His conscience tells him to bring about the truth but hindered to do so by Carl’s threat. 14

Felipe’s parents noticed that there’s something bothering him. One Sunday morning they went to church. After attending mass, they went to see Fr. Robert. “Felipe, How are you today?” asked the priest. At first, he was a bit scared and hesitant to tell the priest what is bothering him for the past few days. But Felipe decided to tell the truth in front of his parents. 16

T he next day, Felipe approached his teacher and asked for forgiveness for not telling the bad practice of his classmate right away. “Hiding the truth will not do any good”, said his teacher. Mrs. Cruz, his teacher was glad because of Felipe’s confession. She is very happy because Felipe promised her to be trustful and honest again. 19

A pproaching his place, Felipe noticed Carl sitting on his chair and waiting for him. To his surprised, Carl asked for forgiveness about his wrong doing and promised him not to trouble again. 21


“Sorry Felipe , I will never do that to you again.” “Can we still be friends?”, asked Carl. “ Yes of course!”, Felipe answered with glee. “Can you teach me to be honest all the time?” “Of course, I would gladly do so.” 22

From then on, Felipe and Carl become best of friends and go to church together every Sunday. The priest is so happy for the two kids. 25

She became a public school teacher in 2018 and she handled Grade-2 pupils up to present. Layout Artist: MYRNA B. SALAZAR She finished Bachelor in Elementary Education major in Mathematics in San Carlos College, San Carlos City, Pangasinan in 1995-1999. She became a public school teacher in 2010 where she handled Grade 6 learners up to present. She also graduated in Pamantasan Lungsod ng Valenzuela with a degree of Master of Arts in Education major in Educational Management 2008-2011. Writer: MARY ANNE T. MEDIANA She finished Bachelor in Elementary Education major in Filipino in Meycauayan College in 2003. She became a public school teacher in 2006 where she handled Grade-4 pupils. Felipe is an honest kid. One day, he saw his classmate playing under the rain and didn’t want to go to school. But, he didn’t tell it to their teacher. Why Felipe did not tell the truth to his teacher? Will he be an honest kid like before?
