About a y ear a go I d ecided I n eeded to get in s hape. My health
had g otten p oor. So I decided t o start e ating healthier a nd
exercising m ore. I started looking i nto exercise p rograms,
gyms and t hings a like. Ultimately I decided on building a home
gym i n m y g arage. I spent some money a nd b uilt u p a pretty
decent g ym. I h ave a wide v ariety of equipment to b uild up m y
overall s trength and target certain m uscle groups. Of course
no g ym is c omplete without some c ardio. So I purchased a n
Elliptical Machine. I t was awkward at first, but I got u sed t o it.
They are a g ood w orkout. I have a j ump rope, which I l ike. I
even bought a battle rope t hat I w rap a round a t ree in m y
backyard. It’s i ncredibly h ard but an a mazing w orkout. By f ar
my f avorite workout w hoever is t o h it the heavy bag.It i s t he
best p urchase I have m ade. No m atter how i feeling t hat d ay I
have e nough in the t ank t o go out and p ut o n m y w raps a nd
gloves and beat that bag up. It l eaves me sweating and gets m y
heart p umping. W hen I ’m done I f eel g ood and I ’m r eady f or
the d ay.

amazon t o get m e started. I watched a few Y ouTube v ideos and
got in a good w orkout o n t he h eavy bag. I t w asn’t long before
my wrist started to feel s ore. T hroughout t he day m y wrist
began to hurt m ore and m ore. It even k ept m e up during the
night. S omething w as wrong. I i nitially thought it was t he way
I was h itting the b ag. S o I got online a nd did s ome r esearch.
What I found was the i ssue w as most l ike I d idn’t u se hand
wraps. That was a m istake I would not make again.
I t hen got back o nline and did some research about hand
wraps. The m ost common type of h and wraps I c ame a cross
were Mexican S tyle H and W raps. Which w ere essentially a
long s oft stretchy t ype material y ou could wrap y our h ands
and w rist w ith. T he p urist s eemed t o prefer these. So i o rdered
some Ringside Mexican Style B oxing H andwraps (5 P ack),
White, 180″ . First t hing I h ad to learn w as how t o w rap my
hands a nd w rist with them. So I w ent b ack t o YouTube and
watched some videos. W ith s ome p ractice I became fairly g ood
at i t. But it w as v ery time c onsuming t o wrap b efore every
workout. It t ook e ven longer to u nwrap and roll t hem u p. But
ultimately m y wrist f elt m uch better, I d id not h ave the
soreness in my wrist and all a round I thought t hey w ere pretty
good. My o nly c ritique i s the time i t t akes t o wrap and unwrap.
So m y search began for a way t o speed up the process of the
wrapping and unwrapping my h ands. I t hen c ame a cross s ome
Gel Hand W raps. T hey c aught m y eye b ecause you j ust slide
them on like a p air of finger l ess g loves a nd wrap t he wrist
tight with the a ttached strap. They looked l ike a s imple
solution t o m y p roblem. S o I read s ome r eviews a nd to m y
surprise people s eemed to p ut t hem down. They all s aid

Once t hey a rrived I was e ager t o t ry t hem out. I immediately
went to the g arage a nd put t hem o n. L ike i said they go on like
gloves, y ou j ust have w rap y our wrist w ith the s trap. T hey were
a little u ncomfortable between my f ingers b ut I got u sed t o i t.
And they g ive y ou a dded p rotection to your knuckles with a g el
cushion. But like t he reviews o nline said, t hey d on’t support
the wrist q uite like t he M exican Style Hand Wraps. Overall
they w ere very easy putting o n a nd taking off, they added
protection t o the knuckles but l acked a l ittle b it in w rist
support.
After t rying b oth styles of w raps for e xtended p eriods of t ime I
believe they b oth h ave t heir p ros a nd c ons. O ne gives you more
support i n y our wrist w ere you need i t m ost. The other is m uch
more convenient a nd s aves you t ime on y our w orkout. S o I
guess it depends o n t he person or y our situation. I f you’re i n a
hurry a nd have t o s queeze your workouts i n, use t he Gel H and
Wraps. B ut i f you h ave a f ew e xtra m inutes w rap y our h ands
properly w ith the M exican S tyle Hand Wraps. Watch a few
videos o n how to p roperly w rap t o avoid injuries if y ou need
to. I p ersonally continue t o buy b oth styles. When I ’m in a
hurry or just d on’t feel l ike w rapping m y h ands I go with the
gel w raps. W hen I have more time I u se Mexican S tyle H and
Wraps.
