upgrading hundreds of cameras, duress

team’s ability to keep you safe.

• Phase 1 of the project will include the
installation of duress alarms & badge
readers by April 1, 2020.

• Phase 2 will include the installation of the
camera system. You can expect to see
this full project completed by August 1,

NURSE CARE PROGRAM

Nurse Care is a free and confidential program designed to help caregivers deal with life’s challenges.
We have partnered with Charles Nechtem Associates, a nurse assistance program with 35 years of
experience, to administer the program. Their licensed psychologists, social work, alcohol and drug
counselors and marriage/family therapists have experience and connections to give nurses the help
they need. They also offer on-site resiliency programs to address specific issues and coping skills.

During the program’s pilot, Nurse Care has helped with issues such as:
 Loss of a patient
 Feeling rundown, overworked or unprepared
 Managing high stress and anxiety at work
 Depression issues
 Managing a work-life balance

The program will be rolled out to all hospital-based nurses in 2020. HCA Northwest is scheduled for
roll-out in March 2020.

Galen College of Nursing offers advantages for Nursing Careers

HCA Healthcare recently announced the acquisition of Galen College of Nursing. This new relationship helps HCA
Healthcare support nurses from classroom, to bedside, to leadership. Immediate benefits to colleagues include a
special HCA Healthcare-Galen College grant program which reduces costs, and an upcoming direct-bill program
which could eliminate the need for up-front tuition payment and reimbursement.

Galen College of Nursing and HCA Healthcare have worked together to create an exciting offer for HCA Healthcare
colleagues that helps make nursing education more accessible than ever.

For online RN-to-BSN and MSN programs, the HCA Healthcare-Galen Grant will significantly reduce costs for those
who want to continue their nursing education.

Most colleagues* may also be eligible for a new “direct bill” option that allows Galen College to bill HCA
Healthcare directly for tuition expenses. This means a colleague would not have to pay tuition upfront and wait for
reimbursement upon course completion.

The next RN-to-BSN online program begins on March 2, so HCA Healthcare employees interested in this program
should contact Galen College of Nursing admissions at (833) 224-7703 or visit galencollege.edu/hcahealthcare.

The Flyer from Galen College of Nursing provides further information; it should only be provided to colleagues who
are eligible* for educational assistance/tuition reimbursement.

More information on the EdAssist process and the Galen College relationship will be posted in March on
HCARewards.com.
