DR DERRICK CHO Dr. Derrick Cho obtained his bachelor of science in
biology with a minor in sociology from Emory
University in 1998. He began his medical
education at the University of Alabama School of
Medicine where he received his medical degree in
2003 and complete his neurosurgery residency in
2009. Dr. Cho remained in Alabama for the last
thirteen years as he worked and cared for his aging
parents.
Dr. Cho has a brother in Dallas, he his wife and
their two children are looking for a larger city.
They want to enjoy the culture, diversity, schools
and ability to visit his family. Dr. Cho is looking to
join a practice where he can grow, complete
trauma, neurological and brain procedures. He and
his family plan for Texas to be their last stop as he
will develop roots and retire at this location.

DR Diana Mazzei Diana Mazzei, M.D., is an Internal Medicine physician with Windrose Family Medicine. Dr. Mazzei
received her Doctorate of Medicine from Universidad Centro-Occidental Lisandro Alvarado
Decanato de Ciencias de la Salud in Venezuela, graduating with Cum Laude honors. She then went
on to do her Internal Medicine internship with St. Joseph Health.

Dr. Mazzei believes that prevention, education, and listening are key factors in taking care of her
patients. She enjoys caring for patients as a whole; medical, social and physical needs. Having
trained in both Venezuela and the US, Dr. Mazzei feels this gives her a unique perspective on
patient care. She is a certified diabetes educator.

When not treating patients, she loves spending time with family and her dog, Jack. Family is
always her top priority. Dr. Mazzei also enjoys watching baseball and basketball. She is fluent in
English and Spanish.

Dr. Mazzei welcomes new referrals and patients. She looks forward to being a trusted part of your
healthcare team. When appropriate, the practice does offer telehealth visits.

Brenda canter, Brenda Canter, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC is a board certified Nurse Practitioner with Windrose Family
aprn, FNP-BC, MSN Medicine in Spring, Texas. Brenda attended Excelsior College where she received her Associate
degree in Nursing. She then went on to Grand Canyon University where she earned her Bachelor
of Science in Nursing and a Masters in Nursing: Family Nurse Practitioner.

Brenda's approach to all her patients is to treat them as if they are one of her own family
members. She strives to make them feel heard and validated while receiving the best care
possible. She started her career as a bedside nurse caring for moms and their new babies for over
15 years and found that she loved caring for the whole family unit. She enjoys seeing her
patients grow and being a part of keeping them happy and healthy.

When not treating patients, Brenda is a busy mom of three children. She enjoys watching her
boys play football and volunteering as the team mom. She loves family time especially if it
includes water whether at a pool, lake or ocean. She has a daughter going to A&M Galveston and
looks forward to visits and this new adventure.

Brenda looks forward to being a part of your trusted healthcare team.

Joyce Boyd, aPRN Joyce has been a passionate nurse for twenty years. She obtained her associates in
nursing from Lone Star College in 2002. In 2013 she obtained her Bachelor of Science
from The University of Texas at Arlington. Joyce completed her AG- ACNP Masters in
Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington in 2021.
Joyce has a long history of working with critical patients in an acute care setting. She
has trained with a multidisciplinary team approach to patient centered care. She has
been a leader and mentor to many new graduates in nursing and was instrumental in
our pursuit to Level II Trauma at HCA Northwest. Joyce will be working as a dedicated
resource for our cardiac and neuro service lines in a new role for us. We are so excited
to have her in this role.
Joyce is originally from Houston TX, she and her husband reside in North Houston with
their two grown sons. Joyce enjoys spending time outdoors and with her family.

Thea marie cordero, Thea Marie Cordero is a board- certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care
aprn, angp-c, MSN Nurse Practitioner. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from
Notre Dame University in the Philippines and earned her Master of Science in
Nursing from New York University, New York City.

She provided direct patient care and held leadership roles in various
specialties- Emergency Department, Hospice Unit, Infusion and Wound Care
Therapies.

Prior to this new role, she functioned as a Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and
a Clinical Research Nurse Practitioner involving Endocrinology, Oncology
(Myeloma) and the Moderna Vaccine Trials.

As a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, she will provide comprehensive, high
quality patient care to palliative and hospice patients that support the mission
and values of HCA Northwest.

Tanner steed, pa-c

Tanner has recently completed an orthopedic surgery physician assistant
residency program and is looking to relocate to the Houston area. He obtained
his Bachelor of Science from Weber State University and completed his PA
training at University of San Francisco-Fresno.

Tanner has experience in the clinic setting and as a first assist in the operating
room. Tanner has received great trauma experience in a Level 1 Trauma
center during his training. We are confident Tanner will be a good fit at HCA
Houston Northwest with this training and background.

OR Hybrid Construction

We are remodeling one of our Outpatient ORs and some of the surrounding areas to accommodate the construction of a new OR Hybrid room. This will allow us to perform
Cath Lab procedures in a sterile environment and utilize OR functionalities within the same room. Construction is expected to be completed around Christmas 2022.

Cali Food Store Area

The Cali Food store strip mall will be converted into a parking lot as shown below.
