AN INVITATION LETTER

An invitation letter is a type of letter written to an organization or an individual asking for their
participation or presence in an event or an occasion. The occasion can be official ( formal) or
personal ( informal).

There are two types of invitation letters:

1. Official
Official invitation letters are written for inviting officials and certain distinguished
people. They follow a formal format. The invitation are related to meetings, interviews,
training, conferences, etc.

2. Personal
Personal invitation letters are written for inviting friends, peers, relatives, family
members, or neighbours to social events such as: weddings, birthday parties,
anniversaries, baby showers, or other activities. The format is a mixture of informal and
formal invitations.

The Structure of an invitation letter

Berikut hal yang perlu diperhatikan saat membuat invitation letter:

1. Invite: Siapa yang diundang

2. Body: Isi Undangan

Surat undangan biasanya berisi tentang hal hal berikut ini:

 Occasion: Untuk acara apa undangan ini dibuat

 Day or Date: Hari dan tanggal

 Time: Waktu

 Place: Tempat acara tersebut diadakan

 Inviter: Siapa yang mengundang

Contoh Formal Invitation Letter

Terdapat beberapa contoh formal invitation letter antara lain invitation letter wedding, interview

kerja, seminar, rapat wali murid, graduation ceremony, graduation party, dan grand opening

restoran.
