Tributes

Dear
mum,
grand
and
great
grandma.
We
couldn't
have

asked
for
more
or
better.
In
you
we
had
it
all.
Thanks
for
being
you.
We

love
and
will
miss
you.
RIP.
Tennyson
Neydon.

Tribute
to
Mum
Mummy,
I
was
with
you
about
2months
ago,
little
did
I
know
then
that,
that
was
the
last
I

would
see
you.
Well,
the
Almighty
GOD,
the
CREATOR
of
all,
did
his
will
by
calling
you
back.
As
we
will
greatly
miss
you,
our
prayer
is,
the
ALMIGHTY
has
given
you
eternal
peace
and

rest
in
his
bosom.
You
lived
to
lots
of
fulfillment,
nurtured
and
trained,
touched
many
lives.

So,
all
we
say
is
thanks
to
GOD,
for
having
a
mother
and
mentor
like
you.
We
love
you
and

will
always,
but
the
ALMIGHTY
GOD
wants
you

you

I

 You

Nadah
Nuwo,
you
were
larger
than
life
and
I
had
this
strange
belief
you
would
live

to
be
a

hundred.
I
am
however
thankful
to
God
because
you
lived
long
and
well.

A
strict
disciplinarian
you
were
and
a
great
teacher
too.
I
learnt
a
lot

you
and
I
am

thankful
for
the
privilege
of
calling
you

Mama,
I

and
were

You
never

impossible;
resilient
in
your

It
is
an

Thank

A
Heart
Felt
Tribute
to
a
Mother
In
Israel
That
Sunday
was
indeed
darker
than
black
itself
when
I
received
the

call
informing
me

of
your
departure.
We
are
going
to
miss
you

you
left
cannot

Tribute
to
Kaka
Fibie
Nadah
We
 called
 her
 mama
 and
 when
 the
 children
 started
 coming
 everyone
 of
 us
 called
 her

Kaka.Kaka
as
we
fondly
called
her
was
a
mother
to
me
and
l
was
very
fond
of
her.
It
is
very

difficult
for
a
week
to
go
by
without
me
calling
her
or
she
calling
me.
When
l
called
l
was
always

ready
for
long
discussions
f rom
the
weather,
situation
at
home
and
politics.
There
was
no
short

call
to
just
greet
Kaka.She
was
a
disciplinarian,
firm
and
a
lover
of
God.

Every
year
she
orders
for
“Every
day
with
Jesus”
and
shares
it
all
around.Kaka
was
generous

with
 money.
 Once
 she
 has
 money
 she
 shared
 it
 to
 everyone.
 I
 remembered
 her
 and
 Baba

sending
money
to
my
wife
as
their
contribution
to
our
children’s
school
fees.
When
l
learnt
of

the
gesture,

l
thanked
and
told
her
that
she
did
not
need
to
do
that.
She
replied
that
she
did

not
have
enough
money
as
she
would
have
taken
over
the
payment
of
some
of
the
children’s

school
fees
completely.
Kaka
loved
politics
and
was
ready
to
discuss
any
current
affairs
issue

with
me
and
so
too
does
she
have
love
for
history
and
tradition.

Kaka
loved
to
watch
football,
particularly
if
the
National
team
was
playing
and
most
time
ends

up
sad
if
the
game
was
lost
throughout
the
evening
will
miss
Kaka’s
recant
of
history
of
the

Bachama
kingdom
and
family.
This
l
know
our
children
will
miss
too.
I
will
miss
Kaka’s
beautiful

sonorous
voice
as
she
calls
Charles.

I

to
have

you

Your

made

You

I

I
did
not
know
you
will

us
now
and
still
cannot
believe
you

are
gone.
You
were
such
a
great
Mother
to
all,
so
strong,
a
great

and
you
have
made

me
to

that
I

we

been
in
the

of

a
powerful
legend,
a
woman
of
great
wisdom
who
loved
to
listen
to

wonderful
songs,
watch
football
matches
with
the
attitude
of
the
coach
yelling
and
talking
to

the
players
like
they
were
listening
because
of
how
much
she
enjoyed
it
and
tell
us
stories

about
places
she
worked
in
or
the
people
she
worked
with

will

only
have
good
memories
of
Kaka.
A
life
well
spent
is
the
phrase
that
best
describes
Kaka
and

her
life
here
on
earth.
I'm
going
to
miss
the
stories
of
your
life
and
your
experiences,
our
walks

around
 the
 estate
 when
 you
 visited
 to
 get
 steps
 in,
 the
 back
 story
 of
 everyone
 who

called/visited,
the
way
you
always
offered
me
whatever
you
were
eating
when
I
entered
your

room
and
ofcourse
the
preparation
that
went
in
when
it
was
picture
time.
Personally
when
I

think
of
a
life
well
spent,
I
think
of
having
positive
impacts
on
everyone
you
come
across
that

you'll
 be
 remembered
 for
 good
 and
 Mama
 embodied
 that.
 I
 was
 overwhelmed
 with
 the

pictures
and
videos
that
started
emerging
that
I
had
no
idea
about
your
life
and
the
lives
you

touched.
I'm
going
to
miss
you

Kaka,
 I
 always
 liked
 it
 when
 I
 see
 you
 because
 you
 were
 always
 correcting
 us
 if
 we
 did

something
 wrong
 and
 you
 always
 made
 me
 laugh
 like
 the
 time
 I
 stayed
 with
 you
 and
 I

thought
you
had
slept
off,
so
I
tried
to
sneak
out
but
when
I
passed,
you
called
my
name
and
I

had
to
sit
back
down.
But
all
I
want
to
say
is
that
you
always
made
me
happy
and
I
will
always

remember
you
for
that.

at
dawn;
we
will
miss
your
candour
and
wit
and
recall
the

institutional
memory
that
you
personified
in
disciplinary
education
and
public

administration
through
the
prism
of
Christ's
love
for
humanity.
And
having
outlived
our

patriachs
Baba
Ellon
and
Samson
Nadah,
we
will
carry
forward
the
cherished
christian

traditions
and
bwaraune
values
as
a
reasonable
memorabilia
of
the
illustrous

cloud
of

witnesses
you
have
joined
to
cheer
us
on
as
we
journey
on
this
earth
as
eternal
beings

stranded
in
time;
strangers
as
it
were,

searching
for
a
city
with
foundations.
Rest
in
peace

dear
Mama
Fibi.

"I
commend
to
you
our

of
the

in

I
ask
you
to

receive
her
in
a
way
worthy
of
His
people
and
give
her
any
help
she
may
need
f rom

for

she
has
been
a

of

(Romans

Second
February
Nineteen
Thirty-Five
(02:02:1935)
and
13th
November,
2022
will
go
down
into

the
 annals
 of
 history
 of
 the
 Yari
 family,
 the
 Kleh
 clan,
 the
 Bachama
 Kingdom,
 the
 Bwatiye

nation,
 Numan
 Local
 Government,
 Adamawa
 State,
 Northern
 Nigeria
 and
 Nigeria.
 Why?

Because
 those
 the
 dates
 that
 the
 family
 of
 Reverend
 Wycliffe
 Kadakuffo
 Yari
 and
 mama

Meriam
 Dilongro
 Mazam
 were
 blessed
 with
 a
 baby,
 a
 unique
 baby
 girl,
 whom
 they

prophetically
christened
Fibi
(Phoebe)
and
the
day
the
Lord
our
God
called
her
to
eternal
rest

respectively.
And
the
hand
of
God
was
unarguably
on
the
head
of
little
Fibi
f rom
childhood
to

youth-hood,
to
adulthood,
to
motherhood
and
to
old
age,
the
age-bracket
she
rightly
and

aptly
describes
as
"SAI
GODIYA"
age
bracket
-
the
80
years
and
above,
which
she
derived
f rom

Psalm
90:10
which
states:

"The
length
of
our
days
is
seventy
years
-
or
eighty,
if
we
have
the
strength;
yet
their
span
is
but

trouble
and
sorrow,
for
they
quickly
pass,
and
we
fly
away.”

She
was
87!
We
thank
God
for
His
all-sufficient
grace
for
which
we
say,
"SAI
GODIYA."

 equally
 breathtaking:

She
served
the

she
lived

Her

were
legion,
notable
among
which
were

She
 was
 a

 in
 many
 areas
 of
 her

 notably:
 Among
 the

 of
 First

in

where,
among

she

as
the

-
well
versed
in
English,
French,
Bwatiye,
Fulani
and

Among
the
first
three
female

traditional

holders
in
Bachama
Kingdom
(others
were
Chief
Edna

and
Chief

 on
 11th
 May,
 1991
 by
 His
 Royal
 Highness
 Hama
 Bachama
 Rt

Reverend
Wilberforce
Myahwegi,
an
occasion
I
was
privileged
to
grace/witness.
Chief
Hon
Mrs
Fibi
Nancy
Nadah
traveled
very
widely,
to
as
many
as
20
countries
in
the
world.
She
was
conferred
with
many
accolades
and
honours,
nationally
and
internationally.
For
me,

the
one
that
stands
out
clearly
was
her
conferment
with
the
prestigious
traditional
title
of

"NZOBWARATU
 BACHAMA"
 meaning
 "The
 embodiment
 of
 all
 respected
 attributes
 and

virtues
of
Bwatiye
womanhood"
which
include,
but
not
limited
to
dignity,
respect,
honesty,

hard
work,
industry
and
courage.
She
was
truly
an
embodiment
of
all
the
noble
virtues
of
a

Bwatiye
woman!

Hobbies?
She
said
her
hobbies
were
gardening,
photography,
music,
literature
and
games.
I
wish
to
add
the
fear
and
love
of
God,
philanthropy
and
meditation
on
the
eternal
things
of

God.

Chief
 Honourable
 (Dr)
 Mrs
 and
 Mama
 Fibi
 Nancy
 Nadah
 was
 an
 Amazon
 with
 amazonian

credentials.
A
precious
gift
f rom
God
to
mankind.
Did
you
ever
listen
to
her
speak?
A
great
and

eloquent
orator,
she
spoke
effortlessly.
Did
she
ever
take
you
down
memory
lane?
For
me,
she

did.
 And
 I
 ended
 up
 admitting
 that
 she
 was
 a
 repository
 of
 wisdom,
 intellect,
 knowledge,

understanding
and
an
unmistakably
confident,
courageous,
tough
and
unassuming
woman

who
treaded
where
some
men
could
not
dare.
She
was
cool,
calm,
composed
and
unruffled
at

all
times
and
situations.
She
was
graceful
and
elegant
even
in
old
age,
making
us
to
imagine

what
she
was
like
in
her
youth.
She
must
have
adhered
to
Apostle
Paul's
injunction
to
Timothy

'Do
not
let
anyone
look
down
on
you
because
you
are
young.'
She
was
an
icon,
a
legend,
a

mentor,
a
trailblazer
and
a
motivator,
a
woman
worthy
of
emulation.
LORD,
PLEASE:
"TEACH
US
TO
NUMBER
OUR
DAYS
ARIGHT
THAT

WE
MAY
GAIN
A
HEART
OF

WISDOM."

We

our
children.
Baba
Yane
would
travel
to
come
and
see

my
well-being
while
Mama
Miriam
will
take
over
my
fights.

We
never
fought
without
settling
matters.
Whenever
I
travel,
without
telling
you
know,
you

would
say
“Maggie
why
did
you
do
this
to
me?
and
I
would
respond,
No
Teni

I
know
you
did
not
hurry
in
leaving
us
to
meet
with
your

neither
are
we

in
joining

you,
we
are
also
waiting
for
our
time.
We
understand
it
was
your
turn
to
answer
the
roll.
The
last

time
we
met
and
spoke,
you
bid
us
farewell
by
asking
us
to
pray
and
you
prayed
for
us,
little
did

I
know
it
would
be
the
last
time
we
would
speak.
I
miss
you
sincerely
and
miss
our
banter
and

your
f riendship
but
I
know
you
are
resting
with
your

showed
us
what
everyday
with
Jesus
is
and
how
it
nurtures
us
in

the
way
of
the
lord.
We
appreciate
your
efforts
in
bringing
us
together.

Glory
be
to
God
for
allowing
me
and
mama
to
meet
before
her
departure.
She
sent
for
me

while
I
was
in
the
church
and
I
went
immediately
after
the
service
as
usual,
not
knowing
it

was
our
last
meeting.
A
very
short
send
forth
indeed.
She
started
singing
this
Bachama

song
(Sayade
di
bola)
I
was
dancing
to
the
tune
and
she
too
was
shaking
her
head
while

sitted.
I
lack
words
to
express
my
deepest
feelings.
Goodbye
Mama,
till
we
meet
to
part
no

more.

I

many
things
to

but
of
what

is
it
now?
Your
soothing

will
be

Your

Tribute
from
Weekly

-
Elder
Statewoman
Fibi
Nadah
Has
Gone
Home
A
tragedy
of
monumental
proportions
has
befallen
the
state
of
Adamawa
and
the
Bachama

Kingdom.
 Chief
 Mrs
 Fibi
 Nancy
 Nadah
 has
 gone
 to
 the
 great
 beyond.
 The
 gentle
 amiable,

receptive,
exemplary
and
perceiving
octogenarian
was
taken
away
f rom
us
in
the
early
hours

of
Sunday
13th
November
after
a
brief
illness.
Her
unfortunate
demise
has
created
a
huge
void

that
cannot
be
refilled.
May
her
soul
relish
eternal
rest.
Amen

She
was
a
colossus,
a
legendary
figure,
a
heroine,
a
technocrat
of
repute,
a
political
stalwart,
a

brilliant
 academician,
 a
 seasoned
 administrator,
 an
 amazon,
 a
 caring
 mother
 cum

grandmother,
a
shining
light
and
many
more
right
f rom
the
days
of
defiant
Gongola
State
in

the
Second
republic
when
she
shone
like
a
bright
star
and
became
a
household
name
in
our

sociopolitical
 ecosystem
 on
 account
 of
 her
 stellar
 performance
 in
 public
 service.
 She
 was

kindhearted,
generous
and
caring
almost
to
a
fault
that
she
always
put
the
welfare
of
others

before
hers,
little
wonder
that
she
was
loved,
cherished
and
adored
by
all
those
who
knew
her.

The
 warrior
 that
 she
 was
 had
 fought
 death
 and
 sickness
 like
 lioness
 until
 she
 was
 almost

88years.
Perhaps,
she
could
have
continued
fighting
then
to
stay
alive
but
there
was
no
need

to
do
so
because
she
was
shown
a
glimpse
of
heaven
and
it
was
more
glorious
than
here,

hence,
she
opted
to
leave
here
for
there.
There
is
no
doubt
that
the
Late
Chief
Mrs
Fibi
is
now

resting
in
the
bosom
of
her
Maker
the
Lord
Almighty
since
she
already
knew
that
she
was
in

the
departure
lounge
long
before
her
exit
having
entered
the
latter
part
of
octogenarian
age

bracket
and
therefore
was
well
prepared
for
the
eventual
eternal
journey.

Prior
to
their
departure
to
eternity,
great
men
and
women
always
leave
a
piece
of
themselves

behind
to
illuminate
the
way
for
those
of
us
who
are
alive
and
in
a
perpetual
quest
for
the
right

path
in
life.
Tragically,
we
do
not
always
grasp
what
they
pass
across
to
us.
So,
the
greatness
we

ought
to
inherit
f rom
them
tend
to
go
with
them
to
their
final
resting
place.
This
underscores

why
we
are
mourning
the
loss
of
the
greatness
that
Chief
Mrs.
Fibi
had
embodied
indeed,
a

gigantic
 iroko
 tree
 has
 fallen
 after
 providing
 sufficient
 shade
 and
 f resh
 breeze
 to
 as
 many

souls
as
possible
for
many
decades.

The
departed
stateswoman
who
was
the
embodiment
of
many
enviable
virtues
had
seen
it
all

in
public
life.
This
is
why
it
is
very
apt
to
infer
that,
in
her,
honor
had
found
her
woman
and
truly

so.
 Providence
 was
 kind
 to
 her
 by
 way
 of
 giving
 her
 numerous
 opportunities
 to
 serve
 the

people
and
the
nation
in
the
course
of
her
active
years
in
administration,
politics,
leadership

and
whatnot.

Before
 venturing
 into
 politics
 she
 had
 been
 an
 academician
 during
 which
 she
 held
 the

following
positions
at
different
times---Headmistress
Girl's
Boarding
School
Numan
f rom
1961

to
1963;
Principal
Browman
Secondary
School
(now
Government
Secondary
School
Numan)

f rom
1972
to
1974;
Principal
Government
Girl's
Secondary
School
Bauchi,
Northeastern
State

f rom
1974
to
1976;
and
Principal
Government
Girl's
Secondary
School
Yola
f rom
1976
to
1979.

Upon
retiring
f rom
civil
service
in
1987
she
continued
to
remain
active
through
her
numerous

humanitarian
services
to
the
society
and
her
people
and
was
a
member
of
several
groups
and

organizations.

The
administration
of
Governor
Abubakar
Barde
(1979
to
1983)
in
the
defunct
Gangola
State

had
made
her
the
first
female
commissioner
for
information
and
Internal
Affairs
in
the
State

and
she
had
justified
her
appointment
by
making
an
excellent
job
of
it.
Her
time
in
office
as

commissioner
for
information
was
the
finest
hour
of
journalism
in
the
political
history
of
this

state
 as
 she
 the
 one
 who
 created
 the
 following
 state
 media
 outfits:
 Gongola
 Television

Authority
(now
Adamawa
Television
Authority),
Gongola
Press
Limited,
GPL,
Publishers
of
The

Weekly
Scope
(now
Adamawa
Press
Limited
Publishers
of
The
Scope
Newspaper).
Gongola

Broadcasting
Corporation
(now
Adamawa
Broadcasting
Corporation),
etc.

It
was
in
recognition
of
her
selfless
service
to
humanity
that
she
was
bestowed
with
numerous

awards
and
honors
some
of
which
were;
