Reflective Journal - Day 1 The Cross-Border Tourism Expedition program that lasts for 5 days and 4 nights has various happy stories and challenges. Throughout the 5 days of this expedition, the various challenges and fun we experienced made our classmates become closer and work together. Accompanied by 3 accompanying lecturers, a total of 22 DUP 4A students visited various interesting places in Langkawi, Satun and Hat Yai. Our expedition started at 5.00 am, leaving from PMKU to KLIA 2 to fly to Langkawi. At 10.00am, we arrived at KLIA 2 to wait for our departure to Langkawi at 1.55pm. While waiting, we spent some time walking around the airport taking pictures. Here we learn how to check in My Airlines. Alhamdulillah we landed safely at Langkawi International Airport. However, while trying to pick up our luggage, my classmate Adriana and I experienced an unwanted incident in which the luggage we were carrying broke. Still shock by the problem, our lecturer quickly acted to make a report at the My Airlines counter to get a refund. Until the report and discussion were completed, we managed to get a refund and control the situation well. Despite experiencing a delay in check-in hotel due to the incident earlier, we not gave up our spirit to continue our adventure in Langkawi. In the night, we visited Dataran Lang to take pictures and enjoy the night scenery in Langkawi and continue our journey to Pantai Cenang to watch fire show. But not long after, it rained heavily while enjoying the beauty of Pantai Cenang. Without wasting time, we went straight back to the hotel to rest. Even though we were only in Langkawi for a short time, the bittersweet experience is still a memory for us. 13

Reflective Journal - Day 2 The expedition continued with the second day where we left for Jetty Kuah to board the ferry to Thammalang Jetty, Satun. This is my first experience going out of the country and going by water to Thailand. Surely it is an experience that we can forget. Arriving at Thammalang Jetty, we stamped our passports at the immigration counter as a sign that we had entered the country. I can 't believe that we are already in Thailand. There, we were greeted by the tour guide, Pak Rodi. He took us to Wong Sai Thong to do kayaking by bus in 2 hours. During the trip, Pak Rodi shared a lot of information about Satun and it added new knowledge to us. Arriving at Wong Sai Thong, we were welcomed by the resort staff. Lunch was provided. After eating, we continued to move towards the river by riding a lorry to go kayaking. While doing kayak activities, we are looked after by experienced trainers. Strolling along the 8km long river with the beauty around the river made us mesmerized. Before depart to the hotel, we were once again treated by the resort with hi-tea. Although tired, the kayaking activity was very fun and gave me a very valuable experience. I will definitely come here again one day. 16

Reflective Journal - Day 3 The third day continued with a visit to Satun Community College. There we were greeted warmly by the lecturer there. While at the college, we performed traditional Malaysian dances for them. The students there also presented their dance to. After the performance, we took a picture together as a memory. Again, things don 't want to happen when one of our friends gets sick. Without delay, the lecturer continued to take him to the hospital. After finishing, we continued our journey to Hat Yai to do CSR activities at Masayeh Khuan Lang. The experience of doing CSR activities means a lot to us. PMKU has also given a small donation to the mosque. At the end of the program, we took a picture with the people from the mosque and got some souvenirs from them. After that, we went straight to Yannaty Hotel to check in. In the evening, we went out for dinner around the area on foot. Despite being tiring, the day ended up being full of fun. 19

CSR Activity The place we visited on the day 4 Tuk-tuk riding experience ASEAN Night Market Sea Verse Chang Puak Elephant Camp Samila Beach Cafe Amazon 21
Reflective Journal - Day 4 On the fourth day, we visited various interesting places. Today was a leisurely day. First destination, we headed to Chang Puak Elephant Camp to see the elephants. Various interesting activities are provided there, among which I did shooting activities, feeding elephants and doing a little interview with tourists. After that, we stopped at Seven Eleven to buy some food. There, we had time to walk around Cafe Amazon. There is a man-made waterfall garden at the back. Seeing the beautiful surroundings, we took many pictures to keep as memories. The journey of the fourth day continued to Samila beach. The hot weather there caused us to just sit on the chairs watching the calm beach. Although, we also had time to take pictures with the mermaid statue which is a landmark of Samila beach. There we also met a family from Kedah, Malaysia who came here for vacation. There too, we had time to enjoy coconut ice cream. Our fourth destination is Sea Verse. A restaurant floating on water. There is a large seahorse statue there. In addition, there is a tower at the back. I did not miss the opportunity to climb the tower. Once at the top, we can see the surrounding scenery like very beautiful mountains. In the evening, we go to the last destination of the day which is the ASEAN Night Bazaar. To go there, we took a Tuk-Tuk which is a famous public vehicle in Thailand for 20 baht per person. Personally, this is a unique experience for me. Riding a Tuk-Tuk while enjoying the cool night air is great fun. In the Bazaar, various goods and food are sold. We tried different types of food. After eating, we walked around the souvenir shops and bought some to take back to Malaysia. This is our last night in Hat Yai. It feels like a mixture of sadness and happiness because our expedition in Hat Yai is over 22 and I can 't wait to go back to Malaysia tomorrow.

Reflective Journal - Day 5 This is the fifth and final day of our expedition. Early in the morning, we went down to have breakfast before departing to the Padang Besar border to enter Malaysia. At Padang Besar, we boarded the ETS to return to Kuala Lumpur. While going to the KTMB Padang besar station, we were very excited to take pictures with the ETS train. The journey from Padang Besar to KL Sentral takes 6 hours. Along the way, we can see the atmosphere of the green environment. Upon arrival at KL Sentral, we were given an hour to eat before departing back to PMKU by bus. So, our Cross-Border Tourism Expedition: The experiencing the nature, adventure & food of Malaysia and Thailand is over. This was a very enjoyable experience for our class. It is hoped that through this program, it can teach us to be more confident in completing future assignments. Many thanks to the lecturers and classmates for the successful implementation of this expedition. This Cross-Border expedition will be remembered by me forever. 25
