At WRMSDC, we believe that no family should face hunger, violence, and poverty. Yet, in America, 24% of Native Americans, 21% of African Americans, and 17% of Latinos live in high-poverty neighborhoods compared to 4% of the Caucasian population¹. For African Americans, one in five are living in poverty for the third generation in a row, compared to one in one hundred Caucasian Americans². The typical African American family has $24,000 of wealth, the typical Hispanic family $36,000, and other families (Asian, American Indian, Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, mixed races, and other races) $74,000, compared to $188,000 for the typical Caucasian family³. This relentless cycle of poverty is the legacy of centuries of racism and exploitation of communities of color4 . To address these racial gaps, WRMSDC works to support people of color who have founded their own companies to make a better life for themselves and their families. We help them gain the funding, education, and connections essential to feeding their families, supporting their communities, and building intergenerational wealth. By supporting our programs, you can help us break the cycle of poverty for future generations. https://wrmsdc.org/ EVENT SUPPORTERS “BRINGING TOGETHER THE BEST OF THE BEST” HOLIDAY CELEBRATION & FUN-RAISER HOLIDAY BOWL MMXXIII S AV E T H E D AT E
