The first Democracy began with
the Ancient Greeks.

In a direct Democracy the
citizens are the leaders. They get
to make the choice of what is
going to happen.

DISADVANTAGES

and ADVANTAGES

Some Advantages:
1. Get to choose their leaders
2 There is a system of check and balances
corruption
3. There is a smooth transition between old
and the new elections
Disadvantages:
1. The largest social and cultural groups of

people often have more of their interest
met then smaller representative groups
2. Because their are short they may not get
important things done before the next
election when someone else could get
into power.
3. The citizens must be both educated and
informed to make the decisions of
elections fair or they can become corrupt

History

Democracy was Originated in an ancient Greek
city called Athens. There are two main types of
democracy direct and representative. All the
people in the township would go to to main
square and talk about a major issues. Imagine if
300 million people went to your main square and
talk about a issues there was.
